Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Wow. That's incredible. I hope it ends up being less bad than expected.

Speaking of places of altitude in Scotland, this has been my occasional bedtime reading lately.

The author sounds like she was an incredible adventurer in the Cairngorms. I've yet to see mention of knives, but I trust that she would've found a lambsfoot to be a useful companion.
Just looked that up and it sounds an interesting book. Never heard of it so thanks for posting

I've just had a look on my PC, and realised that, if I'm not mistaken, I had it on my Ipad Mini, so it's possible it was an ebook or something. If I come across a PDF in my rather disorganised PC files, I'll send you a copy David. I just checked online, and spotted a copy of the version I had as a kid, at a reasonable price (I'm tempted! :D)
Cheers! I think many moons ago on here you listed some bushcraft books and that was one of them?? I wrote themdown and looked them up and I'm sure that was the one which the only copy available was about £60.

Bearing in mind the amount of building work that's taken place on Aonach Mor in the past 30 years, it's surprising there aren't condos up there! I guess the large restaurant and bar must, at least have a caretaker or something  Mr Torrance perhaps! :D

Oh good grief what is that??! It looks like a Wimpys from the 1980's. But green.
Mind you I suppose it's not that much worse than the Blofield-esque lair they bolted onto the top of Snowdon.

Nice shot.

Afternoon Guardians. The weekend is here. Not that it matters to me as every day is Saturday.

forgot to buy some bread yesterday, so I might have to head into town. Got my Hartshead Barlow with me again :) Have a good day Guardians, it'll soon be the weekend ;)
Great images, Jack, as I follow your journey. Did you ever get the bread, lol.
I decided to go for a walk down to my favourite local coffee shop, it's about 3/4 mile away, so hopefully that cancels out a few of the calories from my coffee and croissant :D
A great start. Is the croissant warmed? As for calories, during certain times, I say ”Calories, Shmalories.
the government has issued signs warning against the use of umbrellas ;)
Someone needs to inform Ms Poppins.
'm just having a few cookies with a cuppa
I see you’ve taken my advice.

More great images and fine reads, David.

Good Morning Guardian. Hope everyones’ weekend is a good one.

All things equal I prefer the shorter blade so far but having a dull tip is precluding me “loving” it. I just need to find time to get it straightened out
I do too, but it's surprising what difference a slightly bigger knife makes :) Sorry, I hadn't realised it was the tip that was dull, that's particularly annoying 🤨
Stay safe and dry Jack, looks like you’re eating just fine! 🤣
Thanks Todd, I figured I might need the extra calories if the heating fails! :D ;)

Here’s the Lambsfoot I brought on the trip. View attachment 1745468
Nice pic Todd :)
Have a good day all. Short work day here then off for some fun in the “sticks”. Pictures to follow this weekendView attachment 1745471
Have fun :) Cool pic

Yes, very possibly David, it's always been a favourite (one of Raymond's too ;) ) When I bought mine, a year or two ago, I managed to get an inexpensive re-print, which is still available, but when I looked today, Abe Books had a nice earlier version for under £12

Just noticed it ships from the US, so there's an extra fiver postage

It was very controversial when it was built, only a couple of decades back, if I remember correctly, along with the adjacent ski-lift. There are quite a lot like that in European skiing areas.
Nice shot.
Thanks mate :)

I've just heard a Yorkshire Storm Warning ! "If tha guz aht, put thi coyt on!" :D ;)

I see a theme there :D

Thanks Harvey :) I didn't fancy going into town, so I bought a pack of bagels locally instead. However, I subsequently discovered a full sourdough loaf in the freezer, that I'd forgotten about! :D

Yes, freshly baked :)

Absolutely fantastic pic my friend, what a gorgeous Lambsfoot

Cheers for the headsup.

Aye it looks like the ones I saw in Austria years ago. I think the last time I was up anywhere near that far was ?15ish years ago and I was walking around abouts Glencoe. I saw ski lifts from a distance then but they weren't in use as it was a mild winter and there was no snow.

Oh it's a disaster Jack. A few trees have blown down somewhere round London and a bit of the Millenium Dome roof has blown off. We won't hear the end of this for days. 😁

I see a theme there :D
I'm just pulling old books off the bookshelf and rereading them. I've a feeling the way things are going there the sort of books that could come in useful.🧐

Yes, very much so mate. It's been a while since I was there too, about 10 years, had a week in Kinlochleven. I reckon that happens at least 50% of the time

I've heard it's been a bit blowy in South Yorkshire too David - A bloke in Barnsley even had to take his flat cap off! :D I was annoyed to see that the previous storm had left a carrier-bag stuck, high up, in the branches of my neighbour's oak tree. They can stay there for months, but fortunately, it's gone now. It's an ill wind eh? ;) :D

Yeah!
Yes sir. Pain in the “tookas” when slicing my lunch or dinner
Is it the blade that's blunt, or is the tip rounded?

You’re not alone in your thinking that the Senator is a bit weird. I happen to be one of those weirdos who think the Senator is a great lttle knife. it’s just as competent as the other patterns, but in an easy to carry, easy to hold manner. Please try any of the Lambfoot knives and tell us what you think. Cheers.

Hello. We only talk about The Lambfoot pattern, here. There are places on the porch to ask your very good question.

Understood. Should I remove my post. If so I apologize in my thinking that with the lambfoot blade it fit here
