unless you want to end up shorter.
I've just had a look on my PC, and realised that, if I'm not mistaken, I had it on my Ipad Mini, so it's possible it was an ebook or something. If I come across a PDF in my rather disorganised PC files, I'll send you a copy David. I just checked online, and spotted a copy of the version I had as a kid, at a reasonable price (I'm tempted!Cheers! I didn't know there was a PDF of Mason's book available.![]()
Bearing in mind the amount of building work that's taken place on Aonach Mor in the past 30 years, it's surprising there aren't condos up there!Lucky no one lives at 3000ft then![]()
LOL!I always enjoy the weather hysteria with a storm were they start reporting the weather from places they never mention any other time of the year. Like the summit of Snowdon, Capel Curig, The Needles or Dunvegan Head so they can ramp up the weather hysteria. I always wonder why the don't report the weather from the summit of Ben Nevis in the middle of July, and from the suburban Cheshire plains in the middle of January instead of the other way round.

Rare that a red weather warning gets issued here, so we'll have to see. I think Wales and southern England is forecast to be the worst affected. There's just a yellow weather warning for most of the northWow. That's incredible. I hope it ends up being less bad than expected.
Is it good Greg, I've not read it? Nice Lambsfoot contentSpeaking of places of altitude in Scotland, this has been my occasional bedtime reading lately.

The author sounds like she was an incredible adventurer in the Cairngorms. I've yet to see mention of knives, but I trust that she would've found a lambsfoot to be a useful companion.![]()
That's pretty cool LeonShowing my age. We had one of those at home when i was a kid. Most people had open fires back then. Over winter Sunday night tea{ dinner } was toasted sandwiches made with one of these. The introduction of mass produced square bread was their achilles heel and their downfall.
It sounds like those sandwich toasters were more common than I had realisedWe had one of those in the basement, going back to our camping days. We had a gas stove, a big tent that attached to the tailgate of our Plymouth station wagon, a set of nesting black and white enamel pots, and a gas lantern with a mantle, I think. This gas being canned gas, not gasoline. We had some folding wood-and canvas army cots, too.
Mom and Dad got over the duty to camp fairly early. I vaguely remember the tent being pitched in the rain at or near Gettysburg. That was where Uncle Bill came by and said, "You don't want to stay here". And hey, he was right!

I'll try Harvey!Thank you Jack. Remember to keep your powder dry.
Jack, really enjoying it! This one came sharp to the tip unlike my ebony so it’s found itself called into action. The ebony I have to do some more work on a course stone. Ebony came really dull for about the last 1/3 inch to the pointSounds like a lovely day my friendHow're you finding that longer Lambsfoot blade?

Glad to hear, it's quite a different knife I thinkJack, really enjoying it! This one came sharp to the tip unlike my ebony so it’s found itself called into action. The ebony I have to do some more work on a course stone. Ebony came really dull for about the last 1/3 inch to the point
The original! My shop-teacher pronounced that sure-form, but I couldn't justify it from the spelling. Just don't call it a rasp.Another of my bargains from the market yesterday

Hope your weather improves Jack - stay dry! Your HHB keeps gaining character and the photo shows it off beautifully. Carrying my HHB today.Sounds like a lovely day my friendHow're you finding that longer Lambsfoot blade?
LOL!I've never had one, but some 'builders' cafes' sell a B.E.S.T. (Bacon, Egg, Sausage, and Tomato) sandwich, and I have seen sandwiches containing a full breakfast, sometimes called a Desperate Dan

LOL!I like it when the papers tell us, in July, that London is hotter than Argentina, or some other Southern Hemisphere place, which is in the middle of winter

Good morning Guardians, hope everyone is keeping well, and that you've all had a good weekIt rained heavily all night here, and is rather grey, and windy at the moment. Think the next storm is due to arrive in the next hour or two, but hopefully we won't be too badly affected here. Hope our members elsewhere in the UK stay safe
I usually meet up with my pal on Friday morning, but as we had lunch on Wednesday, I'm not sure if that's happening this week. I forgot to buy some bread yesterday, so I might have to head into town. Got my Hartshead Barlow with me again
Have a good day Guardians, it'll soon be the weekend

Thanks Bill, I definitely picked a good time to go out, as within 5 minutes of getting back, it was absolutely chucking it down! It's a lot worse down south apparently. Thank you my friend, I like your choice there tooHope your weather improves Jack - stay dry! Your HHB keeps gaining character and the photo shows it off beautifully. Carrying my HHB today.

That looks like some healthy eating Jer![]()
I may be only slightly gluten intolerant. I've been passing my occasional tests by muffin, scone, and bun.
Great picture of your HHB, and Happy Friday.
That croissant looks very light and flaky.
Are you going to walk off those cookies too?
Thanks pal, that place do a great range of croissantsGreat picture of your HHB, and Happy Friday.

I might try and READ them off!Are you going to walk off those cookies too?![]()
You enjoy your day John
Better be a book about exercise.I might try and READ them off!
All things equal I prefer the shorter blade so far but having a dull tip is precluding me “loving” it. I just need to find time to get it straightened outGlad to hear, it's quite a different knife I thinkYes, QC at the factory, and by most UK vendors, is absolutely minimal, if not non-existent, I'm afraid
