Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I had to take mine off yesterday in Leigh. I was most put out and almost swore. :D

Crikey! :D
We've had a party balloon trapped in one of the trees in front of our house for months now. I watched one of our super brained squirrels go up and check it out actually. It did not appear to be impressed.
Those squirrels are getting smarter
Where lucky to have a 'dunces corner'. Most places on the internet just have a firing squad.
🤣
Are they still doing this booking rigmarole? I've heard that for other museums around the country
That butty looks delicious, I've a lamb dinner incoming.
Yeah, it completely took me by surprise, as I thought they'd have finished with it now. Chances are, since it's free, half of those who book, won't turn up anyway
Was going to post this hot chocolate and shortbread yesterday evening but my internet went bang!

I was going to post the bottle of whisky I've just opened, but I took a pic without putting a memory card in the camera! That Ironwood has turned really dark hasn't it, I thought it was ebony at first? Nice-looking shortbread ;)
And this evening's current situation. The tankard was a very generous gift off Jack, summer 2020 I think.

It's Saturday folks! Hope your having a nice one.
It looks like you've been having better weather than here David :) Cheers mate
Here is one of my "Lil-un" Lambfoot knives. It's dressed in Pere David Stag and is quite the handy knife. The stag is fat but actually makes the grip in the hand firm and solid. At first, I didn't warm up to the stag but as time has gone by, it has grown on me.

As to looks, you might say it's the Black Sheep - errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Black Lamb of my flock.
Looks good Ed

Well spotted! :)

After a Huge day of work at our House in Pukekohe ripping of Fibrolite and replacing sheets- all with intricate shaping ( the Base of the House) and finishing the day off Painting- I can hardly walk right now as bending over all day in terrible heat was a killer.

My friend here has it's last call of duty yesterday - I had a change of EDC a wee while ago- this AC from our Jack stayed out for extra duties, I actually got a bit of paint on the Stag which came off very easily.
I am sorting Knives and carefully packing them away for our shift, Those Knives will be traveling with me I can assure you!

That sounds like a busy time Duncan, I didn't realise that you'd have to take the old house down before you left it! ;) Hope everything goes easily from here on in brother :) Great shot of your AC
We went and got lunch at a local deli. The rolls they used are amazing. I got a really tasty tuna sandwich!

That's great-looking bread Taylor :) Cool pic :)
Wishing you the same, Jack.
Thanks buddy :)

Wow! I saw your previous post on this. Are they just scattered everywhere? All our archeology has pretty much been scooped or ploughed up over the centuries.

Those squirrels are getting smarter
Unlike us. 🥴

Yeah, it completely took me by surprise, as I thought they'd have finished with it now. Chances are, since it's free, half of those who book, won't turn up anyway
I wonder if they'd let me in without booking if I waved a tenner over the contribution box whilst stroking my chin in a devilish manner.....🤔

Lol!! Yeah done that. I've lost count of the number of times I've ended up somewhere like this:
uraJvRV.jpg

and thought "oh that'll make a great pic the Guardians will enjoy". Taken my gloves off to open my lambsfoot and operate the camera, got frostbite in my fingers and knees setting up the shot kneeling in the snow, done three face plants in the ice, braced myself against the force 8 wind after picking my lambsfoot out the snow for the seventh time, chased my left glove making for the horizon, pointed the camera hoping the lambsfoot is still there and.....
nothing....

'Out of memory'.

SD card. At home. In the warm and dry. Where I should be... 🥶🥶 🤬

And when I actually do manage to get my :poop: together.

Started off sleet snow sleet sleet sleet snow sleet sleet sleet snow snow sleet sleet snow sleet sleet sleet then suddenly wall to wall blue after 2pm. Damned cold though.

Ahhh for me it ended with 'Aliens'. :D Enjoy though

Hi, yes they are abundant here on a private ranch. Don’t get me wrong what I showed was several visits worth of pickups. Texas was heavily occupied throughout prehistory due to a wetter climate and grasslands which brought the buffalo for thousands of years. The property here is covered in thickets. Everything has thorns so we take walks on the cleared roads. Couple of pictures BD009351-812C-4743-952D-E0D88B13C63A.jpeg764A2CE6-25FF-490B-9DF9-BEA6B731665A.jpeg

Another go  :D A bottle I was gifted at Christmas. S'OK ;)

Interesting. Aren’t there a lot of distilleries in Scotland that are located “near the sea”? 😁 When I first read the name, I wondered if it was like that gimmicky (sorry if anyone here is a fan) Jefferson’s Ocean bourbon that is “aged at sea.”🙄

Very nicely put Greg, I'm sure you've eloquently articulated what many of us think about the incredible Lambsfoot :) Great pic too
Thanks, Jack. I'll admit to hearing your (as I imagine it) voice praising its handle ergonomics as I was writing it. :D

Thank you for your insightful review Greg, it sure is having you back :)

Thank you kindly, my friend. It's good to be back. Looking forward to getting to know the new folks who've joined us during my absence, too.

Thank you Greg for the reply. I had to look it up but the review I read of it omitted to mention the delay in publishing it.
Yeah I'm ok with old text and prose; I rarely read anything much younger than 100 years old and often older, so everything requires, and deserves, consideration. The command of the English language our forebears had demands attention from us modern lot used to the laziness of our modern day communication. Even 19th century penny dreadfuls put us to shame.

Well said, David.

Yeah.
Like me.... 😏

LOL! Let's put you in the living legend category. ;)

Angry Waiter Angry Waiter , thanks for sharing about your arrow head collecting. Very cool! I grew up in Oklahoma and always thought it would be cool to find one in a field. Never had any luck, but I can't say that I tried with any sense of determination, either.

Please reach out by PM if you want to discuss, I would be happy to relay what I have learned over the years. Evaluating your hunting ground is a key to success! Keep trying it will happen!

It's possible they might just let you in anyway, but a long hike to get turned away at the door :(

Oh no! I was so annoyed, after it happened to me, that I bought a bunch of SD cards, and stashed them in every bag, wallet, and camera case I had! :D That's an amazing photo up top, but the bottom one is still very impressive too David

We had about 2 inches here, the kids next door were sledging! :D The heavy rain overnight washed it all away though, now their sledge is sat in the middle of the lawn, looking forlorn

Did you not see 'Yorkshiremen in Space'?! :D A shame Brian Glover had to put on a posh accent! :D

Adult content warning - One profanity at the end of the video

Aliens was definitely the best of them  I know that when they send people to live on bases in the Artic/Antarctic , they look for people with even tempers and bland personalities. (I knew a bloke who was turned down from the British Antarctic Survey, because he occasionally whistled), but if you believed the movies, when it comes to space travel, they seem to recruit the most psychopathic, off-the-wall, alcoholics they can find! :D No offense to those who do the job in reality! ;)

That looks like ROUGH terrain! I treasure the arrow-head Guardian rockman0 rockman0 Rob kindly sent me, along with the, equally treasured, Alfred Blackwell Lambsfoot :)

Well, Scotland does have a lot of coastline :D ;) I'd never even seen this one before, there always seem to be new blends and labels appearing. I was in a bar 7 or 8 years ago, when a nice lady, who was a rep for a drinks firm, decided to conduct market research on a few of us at the bar. After giving us generous pourings of several very nice rums to sample, she pulled out a bottle of the whisky they were about to launch, 'Shackleton' (she asked me if I knew who Ernest Shackleton was?! :D). It had a nice-looking bottle, and colourful backstory, but for the price, I thought it was very mediocre. I get bought quite a lot of whisky by friends and acquaintances, which is very nice, but sadly, none of them know anything about whisky, or know what I like. I still have unopened bottles from a couple of Christmases ago :D

Great stuff buddy, we still have a great crowd here :)

I carry a lambsfoot...

...because it's nice to share. How 'bout you?
Great to see that inspired idea back Greg!
Nice choice Jer :)

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is having a great weekend :) I'm not sure when exactly the snow stopped, and the rain started, but it's been raining heavily all night, and it still is. It's windy too :( I'll just have to find something to do in the house again I guess  Enjoy your Sunday Guardians

Got fruit! :D ;)
