My first stop in town was the post office, where I went to renew my passport, (which now costs nearly £100 ($134)). I handed over my expired passport, and the lady behind the counter asked where the gold lettering was, on the cover. Since it hadn't been embossed, but rather simply printed on, the lettering had worn off within a few months of my receiving the passport. I was surprised when she told me that this meant the passport was classed as "damaged", and that she couldn't process my application! She gave me a large paper form, and told me that I would have to re-apply for a passport as if I'd never had one before

That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard in a while!

I just went to a different post office where the staff were more sensible![]()
Great thinking!

By this point it was 11.30am, and I was ready for some pancakes, so I headed to the restaurant that I've been to on Pancake Day before, where they had an "All The Pancakes You Can Eat, All Day!" offer on for £7.45. I can't eat more than 2 or 3 pancakes these days, but it sounded OK to me. My server took the order, and I sat and waited for my first pancakes of the dayFifteen minutes later, he returned to tell me that they had run out of pancake batter!!!! What, flour, eggs, and milk??!! The place is almost next door to a supermarket!
Far from happy, I left, and walked to a local creperie, which I used to eat at regularly. I haven't been here for a while, and what a disappointment. The solitary pancakes wasn't much tastier than cardboard, and I don't know where the chicken part of the 'Mexican Chicken' filling was! It both looked, and tasted, like someone had wiped down a thin crepe, with a mildly spicy sauce, out of a jar. Cost me nearly £10, and to add insult to injury, they wouldn't accept cash!

I decided to go and buy some fruit, and I'll make some at home later![]()
Sorry to hear your quest for pancakes was a bust.

Got the pancake mix out for dinner tonight.
I'll let you know how they turn out, I've never made them myself.

If you need to know how to make ‘em look like Mickey Mouse, just let me know.

Unfortunately, cooking isn't one of them... unless it's on a grill.
It's too bad I can't make pancakes in the smoker.
I bet you could do a Dutch baby on the grill or smoker (depending on what kind you have).
Do these pancakes count?
