Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thanks John, unfortunately, I forgot to put my Hartshead Barlow in my pocket, so carried my Ebony '18 again! :D I didn't realise until I pulled it out to take a pic on my hike!

Despite taking out the wrong Lamb, I had a nice walk of about 4 miles. I picked up a few new ash walking stick shanks, some birch bark, a piece of ash for a cup-hook, and had fun with my slingshot :) I also spotted a bunch of firewood, I'm going to try and pick up over the next couple of days

Great pics of the ebony Jack. Reminds me that over the weekend I met the bagpipe player at Richard III internment at Leicester cathedral.

Hope you had a nice walk, it was decent weather over the weekend.

Thanks for the good words about my photos, David. :)
Thanks also for another Joule's pic and "rating".:thumbsup::thumbsup:
6 is my favorite number, so I'd have to try Joule's No6, given the opportunity. ;)
I also like the looks of those 2 stouts from 4T's Brewing, with the Imperial Stout preferred over the Peanut Butter Stout.
Thanks GT, Imperial Stout was a special brew. It's ok but not worth the money.

Harvey, I'm probably not a Beatle Maniac, but they certainly made major contributions to the soundtrack of my formative years. I was in 7th grade when they had their debut on Ed Sullivan, and I thought they were quite strange, but I was still 2 years away from going to a high school in the "big city" where everyone talked about the Top 40 songs on the radio (usually WLS in the Midwest in those days). My first semester in college, when rock music played in the dorms nearly 24/7, is when Abbey Road came out and I learned lots of Beatles music from other students' albums. (I was fascinated/astounded a couple of months ago by the Peter Jackson Get Back documentary - what a time machine experience!)

More photos of Valley Jack when he first arrived. This time I'm showing the pile side, which has a "kink" in the grain that makes the ironwood on that side seem to have a plane on each end with a deep valley between them.

Great pics of your Valley Jack; looks like spring is on the way.

Hey there, Guardians! Popping in to share a special mail call. I was lucky enough to have two jigged bone lambs from GEC, and decided to send one off for a recover. I present you with a Waynorth Lamb, dressed in some truly excellent stag! Full story, and more pics, here.

That's great looking stag.

Dreary day around my parts so we brightened it up by taking the kids for some rifle training at a local range. I even had time to work on my skill set. Black lamb on the range…View attachment 1752972
Well that looks a handy set up.

Just some pics from a walk over the weekend in the county of Derbyshire.

Thank you David, that's very interesting  I did thanks, just a short one, but it was nice :)

Good statue :) I once read that John Lennon was raised in quite a posh part of Liverpool, apparently 'Working Class Hero' raised a few eyebrows among the neighbours when it was released :D According to Lennon, when he was growing up, the local tough guy was Tarby! 🤣

That looks tasty Gary! :D
Definitely a winner John :)

It started off pretty miserable here in Yorkshire, but soon brightened up into a nice, sunny day. As I was walking down the road, I noticed a large van outside the Ukrainian Centre, and wondered if they were sending out some clothing donations. Upon investigation though, there was a sign on the door of the building, saying that they're not accepting anymore, for now. I headed to my favourite cafe for a coffee, and the weather was so nice, that I sat outside :)

My first stop in town was the post office, where I went to renew my passport, (which now costs nearly £100 ($134)). I handed over my expired passport, and the lady behind the counter asked where the gold lettering was, on the cover. Since it hadn't been embossed, but rather simply printed on, the lettering had worn off within a few months of my receiving the passport. I was surprised when she told me that this meant the passport was classed as "damaged", and that she couldn't process my application! She gave me a large paper form, and told me that I would have to re-apply for a passport as if I'd never had one before  I just went to a different post office where the staff were more sensible

By this point it was 11.30am, and I was ready for some pancakes, so I headed to the restaurant that I've been to on Pancake Day before, where they had an "All The Pancakes You Can Eat, All Day!" offer on for £7.45. I can't eat more than 2 or 3 pancakes these days, but it sounded OK to me. My server took the order, and I sat and waited for my first pancakes of the day :) Fifteen minutes later, he returned to tell me that they had run out of pancake batter!!!! What, flour, eggs, and milk??!! The place is almost next door to a supermarket!

Far from happy, I left, and walked to a local creperie, which I used to eat at regularly. I haven't been here for a while, and what a disappointment. The solitary pancakes wasn't much tastier than cardboard, and I don't know where the chicken part of the 'Mexican Chicken' filling was! It both looked, and tasted, like someone had wiped down a thin crepe, with a mildly spicy sauce, out of a jar. Cost me nearly £10, and to add insult to injury, they wouldn't accept cash!

I decided to go and buy some fruit, and I'll make some at home later

Never saw that one. How nice, David.

Love looking at your day’s photojournal.
May I celebrate this way? 🤓
Certainly. Enjoyable look-see, GT.
Always a pleasure to see this one, John.

For the moment, less clothes, more Javelins. / Nice weather outside. Alrighty then.

Frustrating, but brilliant that you went for a second opinion.
All The Pancakes You Can Eat, All Day!"
When I see any pancake eatery offering this, I run... In the other direction.
I decided to go and buy some fruit, and I'll make some at home later
That’s the ticket.

Good Morning Guardians

Pacski Day. Yay!

Good morning, Guardians!

Jack Black Jack Black , that's quite a frustrating day you're having. I hope it improves when you make your own pancakes!

No pancakes here, but will be grilling a nice ribeye for dinner. I figure that still gives me a good dose of fat this Tuesday. ;)

In other news, I decided to give Ballistol a try for protecting and lubricating a few knives after it was recommended by the seller of a recent acquisition that shall not be discussed here. The bottle was completely sealed and had to be cut open. Fortunately I carry the perfect tool for that in my pocket.

I oiled the joint before returning it to my pocket. We'll see how it goes.

Edited to mention the correct Jack. 🤦‍♂️

Did I take the last of the leftover Popeye's French fries and make a chip butty for lunch? Why, yes, yes I did. Did I use my lambsfoot knife to make it? Why, yes, yes I did.

Thanks Jack Black Jack Black for introducing me to a fun sandwich and gifting me a good knife.
(Don't worry everybody, we'll be on the Pancake Day train for dinner tonight. Pancakes aren't what I fast from during Lent, but I still don't want to miss an opportunity to have pancakes for dinner.)
