Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

One of the best and most consistent ways to test for sharpness. Especially for a Lambsfoot, which is a working tool.

Good day Guardians. Rolling with the buffalo at the office this afternoon View attachment 1761407
Looking good there Pete :)
Good afternoon Guardians. Had a great day on the links today - beautiful course and great weather. I think that things are going to degrade as the week wears on though. We shall see. Touched up the Ebony and now it is razor sharp.

I'm glad that you had a good one Bill, and hope the nice weather continues :) That looks like a great edge :)
What ever it is, it looks good.:p:p:p
The usual options I come across are beef and vegetable. I have seen mutton in the past, and more recently, chicken, which I haven't tried. Of the ones I've had, I actually prefer the vegetable
Now you're talking. Our American friends would know them as " Hot Dogs ". Now most are mass produced, but when i was growing up nearly every butcher made their own with their own secret ingredients. A few still do, mainly in rural towns. I found a butcher a few years ago that still makes his own, and it was like going back to the old days, his were excellent.:p:p:p:thumbsup:.

NH3IYmu.jpg
It is just the same here Leon :) Only a few butchers still make their own sausages, but if I am in a small market town on a Saturday, I sometimes see a queue (line) outside a butcher's shop, running right down the street, where folks are waiting to buy their homemade sausages or pork pies

Another gloomy day...I hear the sun will peek out this afternoon! Fingers crossed...

That's a looker Ken :) I hope the sun came out for you
It’s been another crazy day, ready for life to slow down. 😄 Forgot to post my picture this morning. This WAS lunch. 😉👍View attachment 1761695
Hope things settle down Todd :) That looks like a tasty lunch, and a healthy one

I've never tried that Leon (I usually use thin cigarette papers). I'll be sure to hang onto the few, the next time I get a package with that stuff in

Good morning Guardians, how's everyone doing? Halfway through the week already! :) Think I'm going to pocket my beloved Charlie Lamb :) Have a good day everyone

Now i am going to be ridiculed for this statement, but i have tried them all except mechanical testers e.g. bess machine, and paper has one major flaw. I have done many tests using a micro-scope which takes you into a realm you have never been to unless you have tried using one. And the flaw is, you can have a perfectly apexed edge, deburred and sharp and crisp. But when cutting paper it can still catch making you believe that you still have a burr, but it is remnants of burr or even length of wire edge sticking to the bevel, so the edge is fine, but the paper will catch. So for most of us who use knives as tools, this doesn't matter because you still have a very sharp working edge. But if you can slice foam packing pieces into fine slices, and the blade has to slice through easily, you have a sharp knife. If the blade struggles or doesn't slice through with ease you have to go back to the stone. With practice when you get it right you will know straight away, and when you get it right that is your benchmark, after that you will know when to go back to the stone.

It may be Bexoid Gary. Sheffield cutlers still refer to materials with that appearance as Bexoid, even though the materials in use today are almost certainly replacements, feeling harder, and having a more uniform blackness
...
Thanks my friend, it's always fun to carry, and it also has Bexoid covers
...
Thanks for the Bexoid info, Jack. :)

...
Thanks GT. He's finding his way into my pocket most days thanks to the generosity of JohnDF JohnDF .
John definitely has generosity in spades!:thumbsup::cool:

Thank you, GT. :)

True.
But teaching how to write proofs in high school is the bane of my existence.
Might as well be teaching them manners, they still aren't going to try to understand why they need them. 🤣
...
I suppose most of us are sometimes guilty of not appreciating "what's good for us".;)

Gluten free vegan changes things.
Classy dames are high maintenance, though; I faked it with GF flour mix plus baking powder and vinegar.

I imagine that gluten free vegan changes things A LOT from my "see food diet."
I try to avoid high maintenance vehicles, so for consistency's sake, I should stay away from classy dames.
Cool photo of your 2017 horn Guardians lamb!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Speaking of classy, that ebony WCLF fits the description, John!:cool::thumbsup:

...
Thank you GT. Bexoid…Looks like Stag. Very tough stuff

Single chocolate=good - Double chocolate=better.

It’s almost like a GEC drop. You can pre order a Pacski.
...
More Bexoid, I'll bet!! :cool::cool::thumbsup:
I like your chocolate equations, Harvey; they look correct to me. 🤓
Nice GEC/Paczki analogy. :thumbsup::cool:

...
Thank you, Gary! It's my little lamb.
😃

Lol, I know, it's like running to stand still!

That Terrain Grain on your Valley Jack is always wonderful to see!!🙂👍

...

Big'un was today's carry...

Thanks for the SRV video, Dennis. Oh my, but that little country boy could play!:cool::cool:
Thanks also for the kind comment on my Valley Jack. :)
Heck of a horn lamb you posted, and you did a great job carving that bison!!:thumbsup: 😁

Really enjoying this new slip and wallet combo, thanks @sbh06, and of course the Big’un. 😊👍View attachment 1758466
Classy pocket trio, Todd! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Good Morning Guardians
Seems I forgot to post my daily Lambsfoot picture...
Every day, in every way!:thumbsup::cool:

BIG cookie, beautiful stag HHB!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I hope everyone is having a good Saturday. It's been a bit of a week of accidents here, I managed to take a tumble in my bedroom a couple of days ago, with my hands full, and collided with the sharp corner of a chest of drawers AND the sharp corner of a bookcase, really went flying! It could have been a lot worse! I have various areas of bruising, but they're starting to heal, and haven't caused me too many problems
...
Then, yesterday, Rachel fell down a couple of stairs at work, only got a small bruise, but jarred her back a bit. She was in a bit of pain with it today, so we decided to just go for a walk in one of the local parks, which we both enjoyed, and which seemed to be good for her back. I took a few pics to share
...
Those falls sound rather nasty, Jack! o_O  I wonder if all the rain you've had has somehow increased the force of gravity in your area. 🤓
Enjoyable photos of your walk; I was quite envious of all the flowers, since I shoveled snow again on Monday.

Same here, it's used for both working off a probationary sentence and just being good to your community... I've done both. o_O
I admire your versatility, John! 😁

Just got my new watch delivered.
It came in time for me and my son to go see the movie this evening.
The little drawer in the stand holds two extra watch bands, one with a compass.
...
Congrats on the new watch!:cool::thumbsup: Does it have any utility belt gadgets on it, or is it just a watch?

The year 2018 comes to mind. I'll check.
Yup, here she is September 18th, 2018, just out of the soapdish.

Big and Bold!! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

I guess that's why I don't Snap Tweet or Twitter Book. 🤣
I don't have any of those accounts, either, but I try to at least stay aware of what's out there. Didn't Snack Chap or Twit Face recently change its name to something like Mega Face?

I mention working on my Jeep a lot, I thought you guys/gal might want to see the progress so far... I do all the work myself.
...
Impressive wheels, and everything above them, John!:cool::cool:
Is the license plate just a random issue, or is it a "vanity plate"? The "XTC" looks like it might be intentional.

Touched this up today, had a quite Sunday afternoon so thought this needed some TLC. I have a way of testing for sharpness, and this passed easily. Amazing the difference good quality stones make, this was already sharp, so only needed a touch up with a 4000 grit Belgian Blue stone, fast becoming one of my favourite stones.

...
I like edges with a wide bevel like your, Leon!:thumbsup::cool:

I appreciate your thoughts my friend :) I've certainly seen worse things with that particular friend, he goes to see 2 or 3 movies a week :D
The movie in your link certainly seems unusual, Jack, and not one I'd probably choose to see! 🤓

Went for a hike this morning... The weather was amazing!
...
Handsome dog and knife, John!:thumbsup::cool:

Goat yard maintenance is very popular here too.
And now Goat Yoga and Goat Walks are very trendy.

Love those '18s. 🤠
Thanks for the ebony compliment, John. :)
I think my daughter tried Goat Yoga once, but couldn't stop laughing! 🤓

My daughter saw it today and was "very impressed." Gonna skip it myself--no one beats Adam West's version!

Nice photo, Vince!! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Great assortment, GT.
Thanks, Harvey. :)

Splendid vintage stag, José! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Not by me my friend :) I'm always interested to hear other experiences, and that's all good information. I never know what to do with that packing 'stuff', so I will definitely put a few pieces aside the next time I get some

That may well be the case Gary! :D I definitely fell more heavily than I would have done a few years back  Thank you, I hope the snow shovelling is over soon :)
The movie in your link certainly seems unusual, Jack, and not one I'd probably choose to see! 🤓
I think the critics were far too kind to it Gary, it is very possibly the worst film I've ever seen!

Good morning Guardians. Hopefully the bagels I got this morning are better than the ones I have had stored in the freezer. I am just too old to be eating bad tasting food. LOL. One thing is for sure, my Ebony Lambsfoot is ready to do some cutting this morning.

That's a side dish at my house. ;)
Congrats on the new watch!:cool::thumbsup: Does it have any utility belt gadgets on it, or is it just a watch?
It comes with three straps and one of them has a compass... does that count?
Didn't Snack Chap or Twit Face recently change its name to something like Mega Face?
I didn't get the memo. 🤣
Is the license plate just a random issue, or is it a "vanity plate"? The "XTC" looks like it might be intentional.
It was purely random but I keep waiting for cops to pull me over for it.
I think my daughter tried Goat Yoga once, but couldn't stop laughing!
Maybe that's the healing power that everybody talks about. :)

I hope they were Bill :) I agree with you, eating bad food depresses me, reminding me of times I had no choice, and of those who still don't :( Great pic of your ebony Lamb my friend
Nice to see the sizes of those three compared Jer

Good Morning Guardians
It's a sad sad day for Seahawk fans, they traded and released my two favorite players.
I'll miss you Russell and Bobby... :(
Sorry for your loss buddy :(
One strap has a compass? Why would you ever wear the other two?
🤣

Think I'm going to pocket my beloved Charlie Lamb :) Have a good day everyone
Have a great day with your classy Charlie Lamb, Jack.
