Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I will say, for what it's worth, that there are certainly some variation between my Ebony and Jigged Bone Waynorths. You'd have to really look for them but there are differences - hazard of handmade goods, I reckon.

Yes indeed Dylan, these knives aren't made by robots! :D That photo shows the variation quite clearly I think

Honestly guys, I wasn't trying to start anything - just making an offer that has apparently gone south.

Here's a "Big-un" and a Waynorth and frankly, I don't see much difference in the taper and cant of the blades. However, I do think that the narrowness/slimness of the Waynorth exagerates the appearance between them.

Here's a picture of my current Flock and other than the narrowness/slimness/whatever of the Waynort, I see no great difference between the knives taper/cant.

Anyway, once again - sorry for raising a ruckus. I'll take my offer to someone else.:)

I think your SFOs have all been quite consistent - it helped to have a diligent overseer like yourself, I would imagine 😁.

A good example would be the difference between my glennbad re-cover and one of your SFOs. Or my AC compared to that lovely one on Ox Horn.
Yes, it's definitely the sort of thing I would have got very grumpy about with them! :D I had to get a bit shouty on several occasions! :D ;)

I really do appreciate the offer, ED.
But I know how valuable these knives are, and I would feel very guilty accepting one, especially since I already own one from you.
I've been very fortunate with gifts from members, to the point where I feel very guilty and don't have any non-gift knives to pay them back with.
So, i'd rather not accept, but appreciate it all the same.

Well hell John JohnDF JohnDF - don't ever feel guilty about accepting a knife from me. It's what makes me happy. FYI, I've given mine a slight patina so it can never be flipped for big money. Here it is at work making me a sandwich a week or so ago.

I'll find a good home for it. I'm working on reducing my flock from seven Lambfoot knives to one Lambfoot knife. I guess then I'll have a Flick rather than a Flock.

Just throwing this in for comparison between the two from GEC. Besides, I like posting pictures.

I'm not sure I've seen that photo before  Those two both look to have the more 'orthodox' blade angles
Thank you Jack, Eat hearty, mate.😄

They were excellent and lit nicely.
Thank you Harvey! :D :) I didn't eat so heartily at the restaurant I went to at lunchtime, despite the fancy prices!
Good Lambsfoot use

I'm rather worn out from my walk, pleasant though it was :) We walked around the reservoir, and were almost back at the car when we came to a 'footpath closed' sign, and the only way back to the car was to reverse our steps! At least the views were nice! :D

I'll be up early for the market tomorrow, and am looking forward to seeing my pals - even with cake still off the agenda! :D So I'll bid you all goodnight Guardians, and catch up with you later in the day tomorrow. Now what shall I carry? 🤔🤣

Not to beat a dead horse, but to further the knowledge.
I've added this picture to further illustrate my point... for those that might be unclear.
These are various straight edge knives. Notice how the tip is well into the cutting material on all but one... The Charlie Lamb.

Hope Jack doesn't mind me linking an outside thread, but I couldn't post pictures of non-Lambsfoot blades here and it is about a Lambsfoot discussion.
I'll be happy to delete it if it's found inappropriate for this thread.

That is an excellent way to illustrate your point, John. Not that I had any trouble deciphering it before but it's still a concise way to sum up your viewpoint.

I guess, for me, it remains inconsequential and I suspect it has to do with how I hold my knives. I can adjust my grip in a hundred minor ways to get any small pocket knife with similar blade shapes to function the same for me which is probably why I've never noticed any significant change in performance between all but the most extreme examples.

My concern is usually on the shape of the blade rather than its orientation.

A very handsome Lambsfoot :)

Great pic Harvey, you've made me hungry! D

Thanks for the pics Jeremy, Skoll is looking good :)

Hope everyone is having a pleasant day :) I've had a nice one myself, not a bad lunch, and then a nice drive out of the city, with a good walk, in fine weather, at the end of it :) The light was a little strange, so I only took a few pics. There were fallen trees all over the place, from all the storms here a few weeks back. I didn't get back home until early evening :) Looking forward to having a cuppa, and putting my feet up

That's quite a flock, Ed.

Good discussion on personal opinions of the Lambsfoot Knives, its good because the Talk stayed healthy and we should be able to disagree without getting personal - it shows the caliber of Great guys we have here.
I personally love all my Lambsfoot Knives, I am extremely excited as I unpacked my collection and this afternoon I will choose my first EDC in Napier - I want to make it a slightly different and brave one - one that may decide on a few queens coming out perhaps - I always think brave like this but then at the moment it's... weeeeeeeeeelllllll maybe not this EDC lol.
I want to get out one of my big Lambsfoot - which one I don't know yet - I need to get a little more unpacking done before I have fun.

Have a great day Guardians - LOVE this thread!

Good illustration, I will say as others have pointed out there is some variation, on my Waynorth sample the edge comes closer to making contact with the surface than does yours in the illustration. It also happens to be one of my favorite knives.

You've piqued my interest now David! :) Great pic of your Hartshead Barlow :)

LOL! :D I had a Dan Dare Ray Gun quite like that Jer, probably be worth a fortune now! :D

What was the Guardians Latin motto we were all going to have embroidered on our blazers a few years back Gary, I've completely forgotten?! :D

There are several different types here Gary, and I have had two different types. It heats hot water, which goes through pipes to radiators, on the walls of each room, to provide heating, and also provides hot water.

ecoTEC%20pro_wl.jpg

When I got in on Saturday evening, the radiators were cold, and the pressure needle had dropped below zero. I ended up fixing it myself

Thanks Gary :D :)

They never stop wringing money out of us do they? The radio I had bought for £20, a decade or so before, packed in about 18 years ago, and as they were supposed to be making all the radio channels digital here at the time, I paid over £100 for a digital radio. They use a lot more power, and since then I have had to buy 2 more. The third is on its way out now, and plans to digitise all the stations has been abandoned, so I'll be going back to a cheap transistor radio  A 'cheap' phone is now anything under $500 apparently  So far, I'm not very impressed with my new phone, it's very 'clunky'. It's 5G, but we're only on 4G in my area  Good luck Gary

Cutting my toe-nails is more entertaining than the television! :D ;)

Good luck Bill  You may be able to relate to this ;) :D

Thanks John :) It's been quite a pleasant one, I went to see Barber Brian, had a look round the market, and, for lunch, I had a nice sandwich in a Mediterranean cafe, which came with a 'potato salad' ;) :D

Enjoyed the video clip Jack. Blood results turned out good. I've been jabbed in the arm so many times that I don't even feel it anymore.LOL. Tasty looking sandwich and a nice photo of your HHB I might add.
