Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Hope everyone is having a good day :) Here in Yorkshire, it's early evening, and I'm heading out for a couple of pints with a pal in a couple of hours - not that common an occurrence these days! :D So I'm going to go and get a shave, and get my slightly-more-glad rags on, and also get my stuff together for the market tomorrow. Being a young 40-something, my pal likes to stay out until the early hours, so I'm probably going to be late to bed, as well as early to rise. I'll no doubt be rushing round in the morning, but if I remember to put it in my pocket, I'll be carrying my Rosewood Big 'Un tomorrow, and I'll catch up with y'all later in the day :)

Have a great time, Jack.
It’s gorgeous, Dwight.

Good day, Guardians.

This is officially the last call for my Giveaway. I will be conducting the drawing this evening so if there are any stragglers or latecomers, this is your chance to squeeze in for a chance at a great knife.

Giveaway is located here: Guardians Giveaway! Win a Jack Black SFO!

I've consulted my notes and done a cursory review of the thread since I posted the giveaway. A list of entrants is noted below - if I have missed your name or you'd like to be included, please be sure to let me know before this evening (say around 8pm PST).

It is a short list but reflective of the rather eclectic Guardian membership, I think.

Tune in later this evening to see who the lucky lad is.

Pàdruig Pàdruig very cool giveaway. I don't think I should enter (I aready got a lambsfoot from a giveaway on this thread!), but I'm happy to say something about Jack Black Jack Black - I like r8shell r8shell 's quote:
What to say about Jack Black? The man embodies the perfect blend of grumpiness and enthusiasm. 😝
It's worth pointing out that his enthusiasm has nearly single-handedly taken a knife pattern that was somewhat obscure in the United States, and made it much more well known, at least among knife knuts. I see this pattern show up quite often in the 'Totin' thread now, and I think it's mostly due to Jack's tireless efforts to spread the word. (His grumpiness probably helps too - this thread is probably one of the longest-lived threads on BF that hasn't gone off the rails!)

I was entirely unaware of the lambsfoot until this thread, so I am quite happy for Jack's dedication to this mission.

Have a great time, Jack.
Thanks Harvey, I enjoyed a nice couple of pints with my pal, and am back home before 11.00pm :)
Those rosewood HHBs might be the best looking lambsfoot knives I've seen. I admire those every time anybody posts one. That's a particularly nice one there.
Thanks Tyson, it's interesting to hear your thoughts on them. I only had 20 of the Rosewood models made, assuming everyone would opt for the vintage Sambar stag, but there was a strong demand for the Rosewood

Thank you Tyson, you're very kind :)

I expected to get home to Ed's 88 :) Maybe a few more too :) Hope everyone who has ordered gets delivery OK

- this thread is probably one of the longest-lived threads on BF that hasn't gone off the rails!

If memory serves, there was a thread prior to this one that was supposed to be Lambsfoot focused but it went off the rails considerably. I think that, at least in part, is the reasoning behind Jack's diligent approach to keeping this thread on the straight and narrow. It serves us all well, I think.

I had some friends round for Spag Bol last night. They left me a box of Bakewell Tarts. They're named for a small, twee, Derbyshire village named Tart - No, they're not, it's called Bakewell! But if you ask for a Bakewell Tart there, they'll shout at you, and tell you, "It's not a Bakewell Tart, it's a Bakewell PUDDING!" :D

Both well said and expressed, i was fortunate to discover the Lambsfoot and the other one that shan't be named here as a kid. I wanted one straight away, mainly because i just wanted to be like the grown ups and men. This thread has been a great learning curve about the actual history and intricacies and nuances of the design. A huge bonus also of this thread is that it is frequented by good people.🥰🥰🥰

Here we go with Jack's Jack Black Jack Black okay given earlier today. GEC's Bayou Trapper.

With just the Lambsfoot blade deployed.

With the second blade deployed but not as the prominent blade as per Jack's wishes.

A very nice knife from GEC. The pattern and Lambsfoot blade flow together nicely.
