My dad spent most of his working life at the Eclipse factory (James Neill Tools). My mother, grandmother, and an uncle all worked there at various times too 👍

Anzac day here and in Duncans homeland. I went to a dawn service this morning, just a small local one, i used to go to the main at our Shrine of Remembrance, but i has become a major event with huge crowds. I prefer smaller ones when i can have my own thoughts without the distraction of the masses. :)

Not a good photo, but this is this mornings service at our Shrine of Remembrance.

Thank you for sharing.

They would have gone offshore many years ago, like all our tool makers.:thumbsdown:
Yes, my dad got made redundant in 1981. They were the biggest small tool manufacturer in Europe at one time.

Looks like an epic moment in time, Leon.

Striking knife. Is that damascus or damasteel?
Thank you. I'm fairly certain it's damascus. During Jack's process of having them made I don't recall him ever mentioning damasteel and I've never heard him refer to these knives as anything other than damascus. Sorry I can't say definitively. Jack Black Jack Black maybe can clarify.

Evening Guardians! Hope everyone has had a good weekend. Jack your pics of your slingshots has rekindled my interest in them. My how slingshots have changed in the last ten years. Ordered a couple new ones and they should be here by the end of next week. I'm kind of excited about it.

Damascus is what I was told by Wright's. The first time I saw the blades they were in an untreated state, so just looked grey. They had bought the steel, some years before, for another customer

That's nice to hear :) Those flat-bands have really made a huge difference, and I think you're going to be surprised and impressed, they're faster and more accurate. I was watching a catapult shoot from Yorkshire last night, some intimidating skill there! :D

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone has had a great weekend. Another working week looms for most of us, so I hope your week goes well - the same with you retired folks too, of course! :D I think of myself as kind of in the middle these days, but I have some work to do this morning, then I have to go into town to do some banking stuff. Starting my week off with my Hartshead Barlow, which much as I love my other Lambsfoot knives, I miss every time it's not in my pocket

Fascinating video Jack - I enjoyed it very much. And , as usual, you HHB is lookin' fine.

Good morning Guardians. Yet another fine morning and a start to the week. Temperatures climbing into the 80's (Deg F) all week. Since my wife will be out of town it looks like I will have the duty of watering all of our plants and shrubs, etc. Going to have my HHB in the pocket. Recycled photo.
