Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thanks Leon, I'll try anything at the moment! 🤣 A few folks recommended a deodorising spray online, though others said it masked the smell, rather than destroying it. I guess that spray is designed to kill bacteria, so I think it would definitely worth a shot. A few folks also recommended putting a smelly jacket in a bag with cat-litter for a few days, and I guess powder might work in the same way
Is the smell due to bacteria, or mold? Have you looked into enzyme cleaners? I'm not sure what an enzyme cleaner is exactly, but I used it to clean after pet mishaps. Very effective.

Off topic pet training tip: Rubbing a cat's nose in a pee spot isn't a punishment to them. It tells them, "This spot smells like pee, that means I'm supposed to pee here." Instead, use an enzyme cleaner to remove all traces which a cat can smell even if you can't. Then feed treats in that area, because cats don't like to pee where they eat.

Aaaanywayyy, that's how I saved a nice blanket and a kitten got to continue sleeping on the bed. Perhaps it'll work with your jacket?

Happy Sunday, Guardians. It might be a good day for sharpening.

It’s pretty gloomy outside…

Well, I'm glad I didn't tip it down the sink, because it may have come in useful :D I purchased a Barbour jacket about 3 or 4 years ago, thinking I had 'a jacket for life', as they say (and bearing in mind the price). That turned out to be a false promise as these garments are really not what they used to be, with many now being made overseas :( My pal with the tool stall thought that I had been ripped-off, and told me he had a brand new old Barbour in his loft I could have. He had bought it years ago, but had only worn it a couple of times. My friend brought the coat down to the market last week. It's a real old farmer style, with 'poachers pockets' on the inside :D Having been in the loft though, it smelled VERY fusty, as these waxed-cotton garments often do, so much so that I was reluctant to hang it with my other coats! :D Being as the smell is a common problem, I figured there'd be plenty of advice on the internet, and it turns out a commonly-touted solution is spraying with a 50/50 mixture of water and cheap vodka! 🤣 While in town this morning, I bought a plant mister, and we'll see if it works! Certainly a better use for that vodka than drinking it! 🤣
I've been reading about your Barbour woes. Have you tried vinegar? I have a Driza-bone coat that I once over-waxed which left it with an miasma blast radius of several feet. I washed and scrubbed it with a brush (in a wheelbarrow) in a 5:1 solution of vinegar and warm water, then re-waxed it. It turned out remarkably well.
I also hear bicarbonate of soda is good for removing odours.

What a beautiful rifle.

Good Morning Guardians
There the revolvers were the barrel is aligned with the lowest chamber aren't they. I like the matching grips and scales.

A busy week again but managed a bit of time to myself.

Hope everyone's having a nice weekend.

Good morning Guardians, and Happy May Day :) The weather has changed here today, and it's raining, which is unfortunate, as I'm going out for a few pints with some friends later. Got some stuff to do in the house first, including having another go at that stinky Barbour jacket. Despite numerous applications of various remedies, the thing still reeks, and if I don't manage to cure it soon, it'll be going back in a plastic bag! It's clearly a very common problem, and Barbour don't actually have a service that'll deal with it (I note there's a US company that do) :( I'll give it another try anyway  I still have my Hartshead Barlow in my pocket at the moment, but when I go out later, I'll be carrying my AC :) Have a lovely day Guardians, and enjoy carrying your 'lambware'! 🤣 :)
May Day! May Day! Hope your celebration (with your Barlow) continues to be a good one, Jack.

Good Morning Guardians and Happy May Day.
Nice view with the added chunk of wood.

Looks like time well spent, David.

On a visit to California in 1989 we grabbed three Sequoia seeds which we potted at my parents house on my return to the UK. They grew remarkably quickly, to the extent that a few years later my parents took them to Batsford Arboretum in the county of Gloucestershire where they were replanted. According to my brother and cousin who visited last year all three have already achieved quite a height.

Actually here they are:

Looks like time well spent, David.

Good Morning Guardians
As does that. 😋
