That's the fun part of the patina process right there, when the electric blues, reds, and Browns all make their marks upon the steelSliced 3 home grown tomatoes today, rinsed and dried immediately after.

Looking good Rob![]()
Yep, I think it's far more dramatic with a polished blade![]()

Last time I had one was in a pub more than 40 years ago!! I wasn't aware they put it up in cans, now - lol.
Thanks for the Man Jack mention, David.
So what was your verdict on the stout??

The stout was terrible. It comes in a x4 pack of 330ml cans and is only 2.8%. But after drinking each can I came on with an awful headache which lasted about half-an-hour. Don't know if it was off. Nor was it as tasty as I remember it either; quite bland actually. Anyway it was only a one-off experiment so I won't be worrying about it. See if you can track some down in the US and give it a go![]()
Thats a great patina there Rob! My lambsfoot went like that but I couldn't for the life of me think what I'd cut with it. Then I remembered it could of been a chorizo sausage I'd had for lunch the day before.
Can't really see it in todays pic though.

Pleasing pastoral pic of your fine ebony, Jack!
David, I think I'll just trust your judgment on the stout, if you don't mind!...

Congrats on the new lambsfoot patterns,Just stopped in to thank Jack for my recent Guardian's ebony lambsfoot. What a nice example it is. Unfortunately, I don't have it with me on the trip we're on now to take a picture. Haven't had any time lately to post anything of interest on BF, so I just check in from time to time. Things are finally settling down for my schedule and I'll see you all around more. Thanks again Jack!

I was mainly working all day yesterday, but I did get a chance for a pleasant lunchtime pint besides the River Aire at Saltaire

I wonder if they have changed it David? It's a quality beer dessert where I live, and I picked up a couple of bottles of Dog the other night. I never thought it was a great brown ale to be honest, but it's definitely gone downhill since they moved production to the big Coors brewery at Tadcaster, and dropped the ABV

Cool pic and some good reading thereIt's funny what'll affect a blade and what won't. I think the AW polish is pretty resilient for everything non-food related. I was halving some strawberries with my original ebony the other night, and they really deepened the patina

My Guardians edition still has its polish, but it won't stay forever. I hope I can keep a bit of the etch thoughSun was so bright today, most of my pics were unusable!
