Thanks Mike, exciting times :) Great pic my friend :)
Feels good to be in on page 3,000... Congrats to you, Jack.
We should save post #60,000 for our host. ;)
Thanks for all your great contributions John :) That's a nice idea, but I'm happy however we get there buddy :)
Have a good evening all.
Congrats Jack on 3000! And many many more my friend.View attachment 1820424
Thanks Dwight, it's great seeing your spectacular photos here :)
Thank you Jack and congrats on 3,000! 👍
Thanks Todd, quite a milestone for all of us :)
This is the only lambsfoot I own. Didn’t realize I had scratches in it until i took this pic. Deleted per responses. Oddly it's described as a "modified lambsfoot" so whatever. updated again, it was described as a modified sheepsfoot so I apologize for posting it here regardless
Thanks for editing your post Gus  Manufacturers and dealers don't always get their pattern descriptions right, but as Prester John Prester John says, if you check out the first couple of posts in this thread, you'll hopefully appreciate what a Lambsfoot is
I'm afraid that's not a lambsfoot. If you will read the first couple of posts in this thread, you will see. Nice knife, though.

My friend, that looks nothing like a Lambsfoot, and should be removed and take the advise from the previous poster.

Easy mistake to make, friend. I had never heard of a lambsfoot till I joined Bladeforums and started reading the thread devoted to it. Great pattern!
Thanks a lot for helping out guys :)
I carry a Lambsfoot because.

It's equally at home in the garden...

As it is at the dinner table.

Don't worry, I cleaned the blade off before i ate with it. 🤣
Fantastic pics John, looks like a nice dinner too :)
Looks good, John! Had linguine with meat sauce myself tonight.
Very tasty Vince :)
Thank you, Vince. :)

I made mine with spicy Italian sausage... with hot links on the side. 😁
I had some spicy chorizos, made in Barcelona, they were really tasty :) I had them with hash browns, fried cherry tomatoes, and....baked beans :D ;)
Page 3,000!? Crazy. Congrats Jack and thanks for making this a great spot to Shoot the 💩!

I will be carrying my HHB tomorrow to celebrate!!
Thanks Taylor, nice choice my friend :)

No lambsfoot today, but I had to share this with you all because it was funny to get greeted by this little green guy when I got home tonight from teaching (I don’t know why it keeps flipping my pictures on their side)
Very cool Joshua :)
Wow Jack- well done for all your hard work with the Lambsfoot- not only do you keep this Thread going down the straight and narrow and ensuring the topic doesn't waver in the form of another pattern- that's a lot of hard work.

The actual real awakening of this Knife I consider is down to you my friend, What a pleasure to see this grow.

Its been a very busy time here and Knives have taken a back step for a very short while, but I had a change around of my EDC, I carry this one lately, its a stunning Knife to say the least, I like it a lot!

Oh boy- its dark, I haven't had time to take a photo so took one now- the inside light is always terrible to take knife photos with, it makes the scratches on the Blade seem horrific- yet in normal daytime - one has to look very hard!

I will upload better shots as the days go by!

Well Done Jack, thank you for my amazing Lambfoots, Love 'em!

Thanks for the very kind words Duncan, and for being here for the journey :) I hope you're keeping well my friend, and settling into your new home :)

Fantastic photo Jean-Marc :) Welcome to the Guardians

Good morning Guardians, 3,000 pages and 60,000 posts! o_O:cool: Congratulations everyone, and thanks to all those who have posted here over the years, and helped to make this thread the best thread on Bladeforums

It's a bright, sunny day here in Yorkshire, and feels quite warm. Quite a difference to yesterday, but then that's English weather 😖 I'll have my nose to the grindstone again unfortunately, but maybe I'll take some bottles to be recycled, or something, to get some fresh air!😄 Carrying this Rosewood SFO today :) Have a great day Guardians

Question to the specialists :

Which steels are used by Wright and the others Sheffield's knife-makers ?

Â

The blade, liners, and bolsters of your Hartshead Barlow are made from C70 carbon steel. Most of the remaining Sheffield manufacturers only use stainless steel unfortunately. If you read post #1, you'll find a link to a (partial) thread index, which contains answers to many common questions about Lambsfoot knives, and their manufacture

Good morning Guardians, 3,000 pages and 60,000 posts!
What a great milestone... Here's to doubling that some day. 🤠
Fantastic pics John, looks like a nice dinner too
Thank you, Jack. :)
What a cute little guy. He's much more handsome than the ones we have around here. We get them on our front door too, just have to be careful they don't hop into the house when we open the door. 🤣
Great looking Lambsfoot, Jack. 🤠
Is that one from the same batch as mine?
Very artistic photo of your Horn Lambsfoot, Jer. 🤠

If rosewood is making a comeback, I guess I’ll have to dust off the funky Big ‘Un

Cool Mike, I'd forgotten you had that one

Well said buddy :)

Thanks John, this one has the more common Indonesian Rosewood, but with a polished blade. I think I'll carry my scarcer African Rosewood Lambsfoot, which has a satin finished blade, later in the week :)
Good Morning Guardians and Happy Tuesday
I gave the Usual Lamb a good flushing, it had a lot of grit built up in the action.
Gave the blade a little bath and freshened up the edge... it should be good for another couple of months.
Nice spa job John, your Regular looks good my friend :)

Just had a sausage sandwich for lunch, with some hot sweet peppadews :)

This one was a little bigger than the ones I usually see. I did make him hop down before opening the door for the very reason you noted! I wish I could say it was forethought, but I learned that trick from experience (with a gecko, if I recall correctly).

Congratulations to Jack Black and all the guardians.
I'll take the opportunity to post a pic of my whole flock:

I'll be going to the airport later today to pick up Mom for a two week visit. (she hasn't been down here since the before-times) I don't expect to keep up with this thread or other BF Porch postings while she's here. 88 years old and doesn't appreciate us "young folk" always staring at our phones & tablets! 🤣

Must be hard to keep your nose to the grindstone when the Sun says come out.🌞

Congratulations on your milestone, Jack. It’s because, in large part, your many fine qualities. Consistency, patience, expertise, kindness, and sense of humor are some of the first that come to mind. I would be remiss to not say that the other Guardians and friends of the Guardians are equally a part of this rich stew. It is is my good fortune to humbly be a small part of the epic Guardians of The Lambfoot. Here’s to the next 3000.

Good Morning Guardians

Yeah, it often seem to fall like that unfortunately  I chatted to my neighbour for a bit, over the garden wall, after going to recycle some of my 'empties' ;)
