Sorry about your knife. I am sure that if you get a new back spring you will be happy but either way it's a great looking piece Glad your excursion went well and please keep us posted as to what you finally decide regarding the repair should you get it done.Tomorrow my wife and I will be "embarking" on a little weekend adventure aboard our small sailboat cruising the Rideau Waterway.
I had decided to bring along my very cherished and very photogenicebony lambsfoot, faithful companion of countless walks, for this very special first adventure of the year.
It was this knife, back on our vacation in Prince Edward Island 3 years ago and this thread that helped motivate me to get more active and go out more to enjoy nature.
I am sad to report though that as I was opening it just a little while ago the back spring snapped
I am a bit upset actually as even if I get it fixed it won't be the same knife anymore. I had grown quite attached to this knife.
I'll be keeping it close by, sitting on the little glass shelf right above my work desk.
I'll also bring it along on our upcoming return trip to Prince Edward Island, and take a few more pics together.

Hope you had a good trip Jack and your HHB looks great too. That Barlow LF is a great companion. It's about a half hour drive from Leeds to Sheffield, where I change trains, but the trains take anything between 45 minutes and 90 minutes! I managed to get on one of the 'fast' trains. Glad I'm not going all the way to Plymouth on it though!

Oh No!
Nice crop of eggs, Taylor.
Glad to see the trip is off to a good start.
Good picture, Jer.
Thanks Bill, a nice friendly welcome at the lovely pub I'm staying at, which sells a great range of alesHope you had a good trip Jack and your HHB looks great too. That Barlow LF is a great companion.
Yikes! That's hot Bill!Good morning Guardians. Hot and humid here in NC. Went out to play 18 yesterday and it was good that our group had an early tee time. By the 18th tee I was getting rather uncomfortable and very tired. Had a good round though. Today it's even hotter - approaching 100 deg F! Going to try and get some out door stuff done early and then retreat to the air-conditioning

Great-looking horn on OTW Jer
Thanks John, I'm enjoying the change of scenery, though the weather is a bit up and down. I went out to take some pics a while ago, and got caught in a shower, so I am just having a cup of tea in my room (I was hoping to share a pic, but I'm now in the land of bad internet)Glad to see the trip is off to a good start.
Looks like you have a good traveling companion.![]()
Sorry to hear about your precious Ebony Lambfoot, Dan. I agree with Jack. It can be modded back to service if you’re so inclined. Very happy to hear of your wife’s progress. Chemo can be tough. Very good that she is tolerating it. Here’s to her continuing healing. Have a wonderful journey. Looking forward to hearing and seeing about it,Tomorrow my wife and I will be "embarking" on a little weekend adventure aboard our small sailboat cruising the Rideau Waterway.

Oh ya, I have really big plans this Summer... at the top of the list is "NOT WORKING".Big plans for the Summer?

Diana has been able to recover quite well after each chemo round. Side effects, while not pleasant, last for about a week after treatment and they are relatively mild when compared to what others go trough.
We saw the oncologist today face to face and she is very pleased about how the treatments are proceeding and are being tolerated.
Third round is next Tuesday, a day after we come back from the Rideau.
Looks like we may have some rain on and off along the way ... but we are feeling very excited about this trip anyways ... worse case will just have to snuggle some more in the little sailboat cabin![]()

After a really terrific pizza in the village, I headed out to my pal's party, a mile or so outside town. It was very low-key, but it was nice to meet up with old friends, some of whom I haven't seen for more than a decadeGlad I'd brought a flashlight for the return journey across field, and along small lanes, but I finally made it back to the pub, in time for the last couple of pints
