Hope your day went OK Greg, your Lambsfoot is a sweetheart
Good evening Guardians,
Proud to report tomorrow it’s back to work. It’s been mind numbing being in isolation. I’ll be glad to go back to the salt mine to turn big rocks into little rocks. I’ll be taking the blood lamb along…

Glad you're finally over it, and 'fit for work'

Blood Lamb is looking good
It's nice to see Old Toffee Wings Jer
Jack has been quiet today.
Hope you're doing okay, Pal.
Thanks John, I had some dinner guests

I was hoping to call in later in the evening, but we were still drinking wine at midnight

In the past 10 years, there have been very few days when I haven't posted on The Porch, even when on vacation, but I'm just another poster, and may not always be here I'm afraid. If that day comes, I'll miss you guys like crazy, but you have my email address buddy
I think it's about 3:00 a.m. where he is, but he is an early riser.
Yes, the time-zones definitely make a difference!
Hope you're managing to keep cool Rachel
Jack I believe I could spend every day of the next 10 years within 50 miles of your home and be spellbound the whole time with the beauty both manmade and natural.
That's very kind of you Dwight, I am often entranced myself, by the beautiful photos people post here, and the varied and spectacular scenery
Easiest way that I have found to crack Hickory Nuts is a Vise and Safety Glasses . They are my favorite nut . Great in cookies , cakes , and Mom and my wife use them as a substitute for Pecans for Pecan Pie . If you find a Hole in the nut , the worm in it came out and you do not need to crack the nut .
Harry
That is very interesting Harry, I think the nearest we have here are walnuts, though they are fairly easy to crack
Thank you Jack my friend - I appreciate your well wishes!!

Jack I am glad your mate got out ok if that accident- could have been ugly. That’s scary when that happens.
I have had that happen to me - I spent five years building up a MK3 Zephyr ( don’t laugh because this car got more looks that my 65 FastBack Mustang ).
Stripped down to metal, completely body- shelled.
panelbeated and Painted - it was straight as an arrow - no Ripples at all ( I owned a Car Painting Shop )
Brand new Chrome Bumpers - brand new hood lining and Upholstery.Brand new everything.
Fully built 302 Windsor v8 - a real warm motor with a nice Cam, C4 Gearbox with a modified shift kit and a narrowed 9 inch diff.
This was a show car in its presentation.
I painted it a deep dark Oxford Blue.
Lowered it down to sit perfectly- had original 12 Slots rechromed - it was real nice.
Maiden voyage- pedal down - v8 screaming - BOOM - Bonnet flies up, smashes Winscreen - destroys Bonnet

Back off the road for a few months.
Your Zephr sounds like a work of art Duncan, I would love to see a photo if you have one

Oh, but what a mishap!

Oh no!

I hope you weren't too heartbroken my friend
Good morning Guardians, looks like we've just about made it through another week, and I hope that everyone is OK, and looking forward to the weekend. We've had 3 hot days - hot by Yorkshire standards, I hasten to add!

But, typically, the weather is set to turn tomorrow, with the possibility of heavy downpours, so I'm not sure what is going to be on the agenda here. Have a good Friday Guardians, I'm carrying an Old Friend
