Thanks John, I had some dinner guestsI was hoping to call in later in the evening, but we were still drinking wine at midnight
In the past 10 years, there have been very few days when I haven't posted on The Porch, even when on vacation, but I'm just another poster, and may not always be here I'm afraid. If that day comes, I'll miss you guys like crazy, but you have my email address buddy
Yes, the time-zones definitely make a difference!![]()
Hope you're managing to keep cool Rachel![]()
That's very kind of you Dwight, I am often entranced myself, by the beautiful photos people post here, and the varied and spectacular scenery![]()
That is very interesting Harry, I think the nearest we have here are walnuts, though they are fairly easy to crack![]()
Your Zephr sounds like a work of art Duncan, I would love to see a photo if you have oneOh, but what a mishap!
Oh no!
I hope you weren't too heartbroken my friend

Good morning Guardians, looks like we've just about made it through another week, and I hope that everyone is OK, and looking forward to the weekend. We've had 3 hot days - hot by Yorkshire standards, I hasten to add! But, typically, the weather is set to turn tomorrow, with the possibility of heavy downpours, so I'm not sure what is going to be on the agenda here. Have a good Friday Guardians, I'm carrying an Old Friend

Yes, I could have done a much better job myself. That's annoying John, I hope they clean up properly this time
Thank you, my friend.Fantastic photo of your Charlie Lamb
That's absolutely terrible JohnYes, I could have done a much better job myself.
We had the grout redone in our kitchen. The grout lines are crooked, they got grout all over the counters and cabinets, and worst of all... they didn't even remove the switch covers, they just grouted around them. They better fix it!!!
Thank you, my friend.![]()
Thanks Harvey, apparently the hood came up, smashed the windscreen and blocked his view briefly, before it fell back onto the road, and shredded the front tire. My mate reckons he can fix everything inexpensively, and has been busy cutting his hedge. He admitted finding the whole thing exciting!![]()
Thanks Bill, it's a pretty nice day todayRadio says it's '42' in London, but I'm not sure what that is in real money
Thank you kindly

A nut-case!To be fair, he does look like the kind of guy who would find that sort of crazy mishap exciting rather than distressing.![]()
Blimey, I never realised accidents like this were so common! When I was in high school, I spent a summer working in my uncle’s tire shop, fixing flats, mounting tires, doing oil changes, etc. One day one of the mechanics took a pickup truck out for a test drive, drove about a mile down the road, turned around and was coming back when the hood flew up and smashed into the windshield. The side and back windows of the truck were so darkly tinted that he said it instantly became nearly pitch black in the cab, and he had to peek through the small gap the hood left at the bottom of the windshield to stop the truck without running into anything.
Sorry Barrett, I must have misheard the radio!Degrees?! 42° C would be 107° F. Are you sure they didn’t say 32? That’d be around 90° F, which appears to be close to the current temp in London.
I remember you posting that one my friend, it's a great picHere’s a summertime Lambsfoot pic. I took this one for Ron a couple years ago. Unfortunately, Tennessee (Ron’s team) didn’t make it to the College World Series this year, but my Arkansas Razorbacks did.

Wish you had an image. An unfortunate outcome, but what a labor of love. This was a show car in its presentation.

I like both of your Fancy Dancy Lambsfoot Knives... Very purdy pocket knives.
Having grown up in Omaha my dad took my brother and me to Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium for the Series every year. Saw more than one future big leaguers. One that I remember was Reggie Jackson who’s forearms looked like Popeyes. Since moving to SF many years ago and my wife getting an MBA down on the Farm I’ve been a Cardinals fan. Hope that they do well this yearTo be fair, he does look like the kind of guy who would find that sort of crazy mishap exciting rather than distressing.
