York looks like an interesting place to visit. I really like to view the older parts of European cities and I enjoy the history. Your photos make me feel that I'm there with you. Thanks for sharing.York gets crowded, so I left early to try and get some photos before it got too busy. Bright sunshine and the long shadows cast from high buildings onto narrow streets, made things difficultThere is a regular bus service from Leeds to York, but at the moment there is only one 'fast' bus an hour, the views aren't as good, but it gets the journey done in 45 minutes. I read my book on the way

I alighted at Clifford's Tower, the ruined keep of the Norman Castle, originally built by William The Bastard, while he was busy burning and subjugating Yorkshire. Many folks have died close to this spot, from Chartists, to Luddites, to Scotsmen, to persecuted Jews, and they didn't all get a plaque.

York's narrow streets are absolutely crammed with history, the smallest are known locally as 'snickleways', but the term was only made up, by a local author, in the 1980's

I really recommend it if you ever get a chance to visit Bill, the centre is very compact, and it's just teeming with history. Have a wonderful day Jack. Don’t forget to pencil in some rest.Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. I need to catch up with some chores and housework, and I might do some gardening too. I've got a sausage sammich pencilled in for later!I thought a Big 'Un might come in handy today

Oh, very good, you are forgiven then. That's what I thought, but I couldn't fit the extra sausage on the bun, there wasn't quite space, so I laid it diagonally across the others!I think that might be one end of it poking out near my coffee!
Thank you, my friend.Cool pic of your Loyal Lamb buddy
Of course, nothing but the best from that place.Oh my! And the french fries look fresh cut.
Super interesting.
I "saw" the secondary blade in another thread... very interesting.
Thank you John. Napanoch is an old brand now owned by the Daniels Family. They made 15 pieces with the Lambfoot blade. The other is a saw. Didn’t think I could show that. Out of my league, but the Lambfoot, Barlow, Mammoth Ivory, and yes, that saw, pushed me over the cliff.Super interesting.![]()
A Lambsfoot Equstrian Barlow?
That's one I have definitely never seen before... Nice find
Thank you Harvey, I was pretty tired after my trip to York yesterday, I think I might have been a bit dehydrated. I managed to get a couple of hours reading in. Out of interest, is everyone here familiar with Fred Burnham, I hadn't heard of him until I was researching some Boy Scout history, a month or so ago?Have a wonderful day Jack. Don’t forget to pencil in some rest.
Absolutely fascinating Harvey
Thanks buddy, first time I've been accused of not being greedy enough!Oh, very good, you are forgiven then.![]()
I'm very happy for you to show the saw if you'd like to Harvey. It's a strange combination, bizarre even, but I find it fascinating that we're seeing yet another US-made Lambsfoot, incredibleThank you John.
