I passed through the market today, and came across this Sheffield-made pewter hipflask I thought was rather nice

Nice looking flask, Jack. I, too, have trouble passing up a nice flask, despite the fact that I almost never use one.

Thanks for the tour of Morley. The battered chip butty sounds… interesting, but I think I’d be more interested in something from the pork pies and pasties place.

I believe there are only two voices in which one can read this in their head: Fonzie, or Samuel L. Jackson as Jules Winnfield in Pulp Fiction. I did the latter.

I haven’t checked in as much as I’d like to here lately, but I have been carrying the stag HHB I won in Jack’s GAW recently quite a bit since I got it.

Jack Black a battered chip butty sounds like something you'd find at a county fair around here. I've had battered and deep-fried: mini-cheeseburgers, waffles, potato chips, Kit Kats, and a stick of butter.

LOL! Really?! That sounds like Scotland, where they deep-fry just about anything! Possibly their best known food export of the past 20 years is the deep-fried Mars bar! I was once in a Leeds fish and chip shop, which catered to the late night post-pub trade, and they had a sign advertising them. Sceptically, I asked the lady if they sold many, and she told me, "Loads!"

Based on my past experiences in this area, I'd guess that a battered chip butty will probably be disgusting, but also embarrassingly tasty. Your soul will feel guilty about it, and your body will feel crappy afterwards.

I suspect that is 100% right!

So: go do it! And let us know how it goes.

I imagine that if I took a pork pie into the chip shop, and asked them to batter it for me, I wouldn't be the first!

I still have the deleted spring and pen blade. Theoretically, I could copy the tang onto a home-made lambsfoot and reuse the spring. Theoretically, I could copy the spring and copy the tang twice, and make a two-blade bunny knife.

Maybe something to discuss in the Bunny Knife thread?

That last photo shows a Tunisian pizza! I've never had one before, nor even seen one. It was very spicy, a little odd, nice enough, but not much like a pizza, and I'm not sure it's something I'd get again
