Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

🤣
Sounds like fun for an impromptu event. 🤠
Yeah, one of the many, many problems with Facebook is that event organisers think it's enough to just post something there. They don't bother printing posters or anything  It might have been better to let people know that there was a WW2 Lancaster Bomber flying over the city, so that they could be there to see it! 🤨 I texted a friend of mine about it, thinking his kids would enjoy seeing it. Turned out he was working, but he saw it alright! He's a mental health carer, and the patient he was with was terrified!
Phone pics are great. Would have liked to have seen a short vid clip of the singers. I knew you would come up with a fun journey to share with us.
Thanks Harvey, I really was a long way back, and having to hold my phone at arm's length to get any pics at all. Another problem was that Frankenstein's Monster was standing, near the front, blocking the view (a shame I've deleted the pics really). He must have had two hundred piercings in his ears alone, and his entire face, head, and neck were completely covered in tattoos. He was an ugly sight! I saw at least one person taking a video, so maybe he'll post it online, if he managed to shoot round Plug ;) Did you see the YouTube video I posted (different kind of music, they were doing a lot of Elvis during that first set)? Here's another couple

Weekdays sounds even better than the weekend.

Thanks Jack.
Yeah, they're quite rare midweek, so it should be interesting :)
Happy Saturday Guardians, my new Lambsfoot arrived today from across the pond. Overall pretty happy with it. Good F&F with a pull of about a seven or so. Blade is nicely centered, it does have a few marks on it but I'm not bothered about that. Nice Ebony handles

Glad to hear you got one in reasonable shape Steve :) Shame about the marks, would they buff out do you think? I Great to see what you got :)

They did mostly buff out and the rest will get covered eventually by patina. There were some sanding marks on the covers that I took care of as well

I hope you enjoy using it Steve :)

I had a good day at the holiday haywagon sale.
The 24" pipe wrench is by Greenfield Tap and Die, Massachusetts.

I also got a tiny toaster oven that looks unused and a leather shoulder holster missing one strap.

In conversation with one of the servicemen, I learned that a Lancaster Bomber was due to fly over later in the day. I quickly did some shopping, and headed back home to get my camera. Back in town, I learned that I'd missed the fly-past, as the Lancaster had turned up 2 1/2 hours early! I couldn't believe I'd missed it! :( I'll be sending a Yorkshire Bomber to Lancaster to exact vengeance tomorrow! 🤨
Didn’t appreciate the Lancaster Bomber’s contribution to the war effort. Watching this YT vid gave me a better understanding.

I missed it but now I see it. They sang one of the first tunes that I remembered my Mother playing, called Mr “Sandman” Here’s the original.

Jack Black Jack Black Question without notice. I know you use cigarette papers to check for sharpness, i ran out and just purchased a new packet. Not the same quality, by that i mean they seem a lot thinner. Blades that cut straight through the old papers don't even begin to cut before the paper just collapses. Are you having the same issue ???

Don't ya just hate it when that happens.:mad::mad:🤬🤬🤬
Hardly split-second timing! 🤨
That sounds like a euphemism, but I’m not sure I want to know for what. 😳🤣
It's a reference to the historic rivalry between Yorkshire and Lancashire Barrett, Lancaster being the county town of the latter ;) Sorry that was obscure! :D

While there was no 'Yorkshire Bomber', Lancaster Bombers were in fact made at a secret factory at Yeadon, Leeds
Sorry you missed the fly over, Jack, but nice pics of the rest of the event.
Thanks my friend :)

Nice haul Jer :)

It's almost as iconic here as the Spitfire Harvey. I'm told there's only one left flying now, (seen in the documentary below), and I missed it! :( That's a great video, I'm enjoying watching it  Lancaster crews trained for the dam-busters raid on reservoirs to the west of Sheffield.

That's a great song Harvey :)

They do different thicknesses in the 'Rizla' brand Leon (the red ones are thicker than the blue). The ultra-thin ones are definitely harder to cut cleanly

Good morning Guardians, I'm late getting started after watching Lancaster Bomber videos! :D I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend, and that you have some plans for the day. I have some stuff in the house I need to get on with, and in the garden too. I'm enjoying carrying my Charlie Lamb :)

The local rag has posted a video (which looks like it's filmed on a phone) of the Lancaster Bomber I missed yesterday.

The standards of journalism at the Yorkshire Evening Post are clearly even lower than the standards of photography

"Several stalls, parades and activities were put on as part of the celebrations, which were hosted by the Lord Mayor of Leeds and attended by several members of the military."

Another video here:

Cool photo Jack. Hope your day of chores is going well. My day yesterday consisted of assembling some chairs (Adirondack) and carrying them to the back yard. They are made of a composite material that is heavy but the color never fades and no painting is ever required. Each chair weighs in at around 50 pounds. I needed a nap after carrying each chair to the back yard.😁

Good morning Guardians. Hope you are all having a great weekend. I am heading out to my friend's house to help put up a large tent for his 4th of July cookout. It will be hot dogs and hamburgers plus many assorted side dishes for Monday. Hopefully the weather cooperates and we can be outside.:thumbsup:

The standard of journalism full stop is in the toilet. Absolutely disgraceful over here. 🤯🤯🤯🤬🤬🤬
It's appalling isn't it, the content is bad enough, but it's often barely literate?:thumbsdown:

Thanks Bill, I'm just having a break for a cheese sandwich :) I've plenty to do, but I won't be working too hard ;) You must have carried a fair bit of weight yesterday, I hope you enjoyed your nap ;) Independence Day Weekend sounds like a lot of work! :D Great plans for the 4th, I hope you have a good one :) Excellent pic buddy

Yes, they churn them out of Uni barely being able to put 2 words together. It's actually frightening when you think of it. On that note, i'm turning in, have a good day everyone else.
I guess they're cheap labour mate :( Sleep well Leon :)
