"It's a man's life in today's [Senior Services]!"
Actually that pamphlet is five years old. Things are probably even jollier now.
Thanks a lot Bill, bit of a cock-up on the Lambsfoot carry front today! Some great photos of your HHB. The last one...is that your big'un? Wasn't sure. Hope you had an enjoyable outing with your slingshot.
Good morning Guardians. I'm a little slow moving this morning but I'm building up slowly for getting some yard work done. Been having back spasms and was wondering if this was a side effect of the Covid or the medication I took. I'll have my HHB in my pocket again.

The cygnets I saw the last time I was there are getting bigger now. I had only taken a compact camera out with me, and they were right across the lake, but I took a few pics...

I walked through the woods to my usual slingshot spot, and had half an hour there, before having a hastily-made perroni sandwich, and continuing on through the woods...

Have a good one Steve, it's always a treat to see that oldie
Why the painted rocks? And I guess they don't use that door.
It was something kids did during the Lockdown, not just here, but internationally I thinkWhy the painted rocks? And I guess they don't use that door.

This isn't one of them, but it is a painted rock.

Still looks great, Pete. This one is hard to photograph. The horn is so dark the detail is lost except in direct sunlight.

You do the same, Jack.Good morning Guardians, it's fine here at the moment, with rain set to come in from mid afternoon, so I'm going to make a sandwich, grab my slingshot, and head out for a walk with my Hartshead Barlow. Hopefully get a few miles in before the rain, but I'm not too bothered about itHave a great day, and I'll see you all later Guardians

Beautiful Christopher Johnson my friend, and I'm sure that many of your fellow Guardians will enjoy watching that short film from the Yorkshire Film ArchiveGood Morning Guardians
Here’s another Lambfoot from C. Johnson. Included is a 36 min. silent movie showing their operation. You need patience and obsession with history to enjoy.
C.J. & CO CUTLERY
This film, made in two parts, shows the extensive process of making handmade cutlery by the men and women at the small Sheffield workshop of C. J. & Co. Cutl...www.yfanefa.com

With a great deal of difficulty, and a large amount of research and effort. It can be a very time-consuming, and expensive business. 'Company' was added in 1868, so that doesn't help us, but that's a very plain tang stamp for Christopher Johnson, I'm not sure if I have an example like that or not. To date it accurately, you would need access to Christopher Johnson catalogues, so that you could see when they first started producing that pattern. Several of their trade catalogues are held by Sheffield City Libraries, others are in the hands of collectors.Thank you Jack. How would you date it?
