It wasn't a criticism! We were pretty near the bottom of page one.
Thanks Bill, it's gone on longer than expected. I'll be glad to be able to get back to normal, and to be able to go out and pick my blackberries! It would be nice to see some of your airguns sometime. It is a shame about Theoben. Many years ago, when I had a small cutlery business, I spent a lot of time developing the HT for a particular Sheffied steel. A specialist vacuum-hardeners were extremely helpful in the project, and I had a good working relationship with them. They told me that they had worked with Theoben when they were first starting out, helping them develop their inert gas system (I hope I've remembered that correctly), which would not have been possible without the vacuum-hardening![]()
The Shadow Knows.
Turtles! Glad you got to see turtles.
Today's the day, your back will start getting better, I can feel it.
Thanks for the photos Bill, you have an outstanding collectionThis one is a Weihrauch HW55M. It is a spring type air rifle. It was really in sad shape when I got it. I refinished the stock with hand rubbed London Oil and had the action re-blued. It's a real jewel now as it has been returned to it's former glory.

The next shots are of my prized Theoben SLR98. It is in pristine condition and it is also a very rare "long" model. Perhaps the zenith of what Theoben made. All the Theobens are "gas ram" type airguns. The gas piston can be filled with nitrogen but principally use just plain old air in the gas piston. They are unique amongst gas ram type guns as the amount of gas pressure can be adjusted to obtain different power settings and shooting characteristics.

This Theoben is an Evolution model with thumbhole stock. The stock is made of Hyedua wood from Africa and no longer available due to a moratorium on harvesting these trees.

Here is my Feinwerkbau 300. A spring gun meant for 10 meter competition...60+ years ago. No finer springer ever made

Thank you very much, Jack... sending good thoughts your way. That is a beautifully-taken photo though my friend
Just a portion of my collection Jack. I did not want to overburden the post - Haha. I also have a PCP airgun - a Taipan Veteran. It's really not a collector type airgun but rather a plinker and for pest control too.
