I hope you aren't gone too long, I very much appreciate reading your posts. I am not the most prolific poster, but I keep up so that I can keep up with folks like youHad an interesting day yesterday, i am going to be extremely, and i mean extremely careful what i post here, but i may be around a bit less for a while, and i don't want to cause any reason for a transgression. I was reported for being a troll, and that is all i am prepared to say. So i may give myself some time on the bench, so if i am not around the Guardians much for a while, all is okay. I am not ill or anything like that, just going to take it easy for a while, but everything is OK.![]()
. To all my fellow Guardians, because this is the best thread on the forum, take care and look after yourselves, and remember keep your edges sharp and always oil the joints. I'm just going to have a think about things for a while, but when i do comeback rest assured it is only because of this thread and it's contributors.

Very nice pics Pete. I love New Hampshire. Beautiful state. That's where Glennbad hangs his hat ya know.Well as I’m in travels I don’t have a lamb to share but here are some photos from New Hampshire a little north of Manchester. Gorgeous country, quite rural, with very friendly people I may add.

Nicely saidI hope you aren't gone too long, I very much appreciate reading your posts. I am not the most prolific poster, but I keep up so that I can keep up with folks like youcudgee . Be well, and may your thinking be beneficial.
Congratulations, and welcome to the Guardians!Well; I finally joined the Lambsfoot clan.
Bought an A. Wright Senator with Rosewood from the classifieds section. I had read the reports of poor Fit / Finish but took a chance and I am glad I did. I am quite please with it. In the sellers photos the rosewood looked rather run of the mill but in person it is nice and with use should start looking even better. Fit wise, the backspring is flush both closed and open which seems to be a rarity with these. The blade isn't perfectly centered but it is not bad at all. I took these (bad ) photos tonight but will take better ones later. I have it sharpened up and now to start using it and getting a patina on it. Hopefully with handling the rosewood grain will start filling in / darkening so it doesn't look so white in the pores.

Cudgee, my friend. Not sure who would call you a troll? They obviously don't know you or understand your humor... but we do, and we enjoy it!Had an interesting day yesterday, i am going to be extremely, and i mean extremely careful what i post here, but i may be around a bit less for a while, and i don't want to cause any reason for a transgression. Very nice, and welcome to the Guardians.
That sure is some beautiful country, Pete.
Lamb on Lamb... Brilliant.
Glad you're getting out and about for a bit. A little walking might help the back anyways, as long as you don't overdo it. Have a great day, my friend.
That's pretty good advice my friendCudgee, my friend. Not sure who would call you a troll? They obviously don't know you or understand your humor... but we do, and we enjoy it!
I understand self-imposed time-outs. I've done a few myself when I started feeling that way. Perhaps do like I do, and just visit the Guardians daily, and forget the rest of the forum for a while.
Thanks John, I took a walking cane out with me, made a brief visit to the market, and also to the doctor's - earliest appointment to see one in person was September 7thGlad you're getting out and about for a bit. It's a looker John, interesting thought, and it ties in with something I picked up today, which I wanted to bring up for discussion againGood Morning Guardians
I've been Totin' the Charlie Lamb a lot more. It took me a while to get used to its "defect".

I do have a questionn on the rosewood. As you can see from the photo's the open grain veins look white or light compared to the surface wood. I have rubebd with a little oil but it comes back. Will these eventually darken up with use and absorption of oil grime etc? I would much rather see dark open grain line that the light ones.

Great choice, and a nice pic Steve
Good tip SteveThe LF I posted above was like that as well when I got it.
I cleaned it really well with some rubbing alcohol and a toothbrush and then gave the handles a wipe with this stuff.
Old English Scratch Cover
Glad you were able to quickly stop by the Market. Early September appointment isn't too terrible.
Super cool picture of your Lambsfoot.
I definitely see the family resemblance. It's probably less awkward given its straight handle, where the swayback shape tends to force the tip even higher. Cool find, my friend.
