Looks like a wonderful place to spend some quality time with your friend.Good morning, Guardians.
Took Saxon (the pup, though I am sure Saxon would make a fine knife name as well) out on a quick wilderness overnighter this last weekend. It was very nice to get out for a bit.

A picture with the background in focus, quite stunning, I think.

Jack, I've sometimes considered trying a tripod, but concluded that would unduly complicate my life!Thanks for noticing the Man Jack.
How's the new job going, David? Hope the unavoidable adjustments are soon a thing of the past.Another delicious-looking pie!
Do they ever put any broccoli or spinach in those?? (When I see the Eye of Sauron looking at me as in this photo, I often think, "Here's looking at you, kid."
)
One more pic of my Man Jack (on a wisteria "trunk") before I reload tomorrow:

With the heat we've got here at the moment, I thought I'd have a cold one with my Thai lunch

Great shots Padruig! Whats the wildlife in those parts cos I'd say young Saxon has got wind of something in them trees![]()
Thank you, Jack. Lofty praise, indeed. There is some excellent photography in this thread. I am certainly fortunate to have such scenic areas to visit on a somewhat frequent basis. That being said, I always envy the scenery that you anddonn often display here and elsewhere. I really need to arrange for a visit to your neck of the woods sometime soon.
Thank you, my friend. The wildlife over where these pictures were taken is comprised of Osprey, other birds, some squirrels and chipmunks, and most certainly bears. These tracks were found not 50 feet from our campsite when we were up here last year.

Unfortunately, we were not alone on our wilderness outing this time around, my chosen spot is getting more and more popular, I am afraid. I think Saxon was curious about the other canine that he could hear on the other side of the lake where some other folks had made camp. I might have to find another spot soon if I want to enjoy the quiet and solitude.
I took this picture while I was out over the weekend as well and posted it in a different thread. I think it appropriate for here.

Ahh! Nice to see snow in any form this time of year in Texas! Thanks!!These tracks were found not 50 feet from our campsite when we were up here last year.
I recognized it immediately, before the picture even loaded halfway. (I'm on the Texas gulf coast, and even have them in my yard.)Did someone mention weird, hairy looking bark?

My Ebony ‘18 Guardian is in the shadows and the pocket this morning.

Friends are always asking me, "What's wrong with your palm trees?" I tell them "They're supposed to look like that"
I sure hope so, anyway...
