An A. Wright lambsfoot knife with Redwood covers....

This is the Methuselah Redwood Tree located a couple of miles from where I lived and grew up in the Santa Cruz Mountain range. I have driven past it maybe a hundreds of times on my 35 mile daily commute to San Francisco on Skyline BLVD. The Methuselah is over a thousand of years old. It's over 200 feet tall and would make many knife covers!

Much of the old growth redwood trees have been logged out but there remains thousands of redwood trees in this forest. A real treat living here.

Those trees are incredible Dave, I always think about what they must have looked like to people seeing them for the first time. I'm glad that there are still some left. I don't think I've ever seen another Lambsfoot with redwood covers, nice that it has stirs such fond thoughts for you
Looks delicious Jack, first thing my eyes went to…besides the HHB of course…was the bowl of olives.

LOL!

When I was a teenager, I spent some time living among olive groves, and without an abundance of food, but I didn't like the taste of olives until I was about 40! It was very strange, and apparently not uncommon, having being told that I might like them as I got older, I tried olives many times, but found them awful. Then, suddenly, it was as if someone flipped a switch, and I have loved them ever since
thanks Jack - I do like it
With good reason
May each day bring you further relief, Jack. Such a fine image of you wonderful Barlow.
Thank you for all your kind words Harvey
Wonderful celebratory meal for things slowly getting better.
Thank you for the tunes too
Good Morning Guardians
That's one heck of an image my friend
Hope everybody’s having a nice weekend. The weather here in Santa Cruz has been great. I expect the beaches will be packed. And the local amusement park will be going off. They have a wonderful old school wooden roller coaster called the Big Dipper. I do enjoy being home though.
I cut some dahlias yesterday. Here‘s a picture with some lambsfoot content. It’s my lambsfoot of different covers. The dye didn’t take as well on the pile side and is mostly plain kudu bone. I like it.

A lovely image

That old wooden roller coaster sounds cool

There is an old one here called the
Big Dipper too. 'Crazy Mouse' (or 'Wild Mouse') seems to have been a common roller coaster name in the the past too, which I always think rather funny. There is one in Brighton, on the southern English coast called that, and it sits high above the sea. It's very tame by modern standards

I haven't been on a roller-coaster for years, but my mate's lad will talk about them endlessly!
Beautiful picture, beautiful knife, and I love riding the Big Dipper... perched way up there above the ocean.
When I was a kid, we went on holiday to Blackpool, the seaside resort where the Big Dipper is located. It rather dominated the town back then. My dad spent the whole of the holiday, and much time thereafter, telling me that when I was "a bit older" he'd take me on it. I was in my early 20's, with a girlfriend, when I eventually went on it, but after a lifetime of build-up, it was a bit of a disappointment!
I hope everyone is having a great Saturday

Based on my last posting time, I have just had one heck of a nap!
