Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

rboVqTl.jpg

OK; Some new pics of my A. Wright; the pipe holder belonged to my maternal Grandfather and holds a lot of memories from my childhood playing with it.

I did a little more work on the Senator radiusing the bolster corners a little. I(t may be a big no no to a collector but I use my knives and the slight rounding makes it a a little more pocket friendly aw well as feeling and looking better to me.

Interesting to see you giving it a go Sceva, I don't think anyone would object to you making some mods :) That pipe holder is a nice memento  When I was a boy, I remember we had my mother's grandfather's old pipe, with a bowl carved in the shape of a dog's head. My father didn't think it smoked very well, but it sat, unused, on his pipe rack for a few years. The 60's and 70's were a time, here, when everyone wanted new, rather than old, things, and so much was burned, or thrown away, including thousands of old pianos for example. I think the old pipe was probably thrown out, sadly :(
You can kind of see why the Lambsfoot was such an Australian success story! 😁
Evening Guardians !

Rosie is a great knife for steak or as in this case a bonless Pork chop 👍👍

Looks great Steve, I'm glad you enjoyed it :) Cool pics :)
Back then because of our still very strong links to the Mother Country, nearly all of our cutlery/ knives came from England/Sheffield. I am only guessing, but i would say 90% +. Even when i was a kid, nearly everyone received a Cutlery set from Sheffield as an engagement or wedding present. There was one in every house i ever entered.
Even the poorest Sheffield homes had excellent cutlery ;) :D
Look like an old " Bover Boys Skinhead Gang From The 70's. "🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🥰
LOL! :D Most of those boys won't be growing quiffs again! 😂 When I went to Tool Man's wedding some years back, I wasn't sure what to expect. Most of the male guests seemed to be bald (or balding seniors), wearing grey or black suits, with the jackets cut a bit longer than usual. If it hadn't been for the music, and the more colourfully-dressed women present, it might have been an undertaker's convention! 🤣

What about these rogues in Sheffield, in the 1920's?! :D

First day of our Spring when i could pull out the shorts. Very late for us. 😁.
Have a great Spring and Summer Leon :)
Now that's top notch improvisation my friend.

Oh the Joy! 100 degrees F here today. I am SO OVER IT.
Thanks Dwight, I hope you get some cooler weather soon my friend :)
There goes the neighborhood.
🤣🤣🤣

The you know what may have hit the proverbial fan over here. Optus, our second largest telco has been hacked with personal details of up to 9 million customers breached. That is more than 1/3rd of out total population and probably close to a half of phone/internet users. As usual, only found out through the media without any word from Optus, don't know how i will fare, but it would be good company policy to let us know. Not happy.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
Oh no! 🤨 That's a BIG breach! :mad::thumbsup:
Morning Guardians! Hope you have a good day at the market Jack. Boss is riding shotgun today.

Thanks a lot buddy, Boss is looking first rate :)
Good morning Guardians! Which to choose for today? Think I’ll go with the Ebony. 😃

Nice pair to choose from :)
Nice to see your Charlie Lamb out and about John :)

I had a nice day at the market today, though a tiring one. Tool Man had a lot of sales, and we had chips and gravy for lunch :) I was quite struck by a Brades sickle he had, but couldn't justify buying it, even at a very fair price :D I liked the brass bell too! :D ;) Hope everyone has had a good day :) I think I'll be flopping on the sofa this evening! :D

Happy Birthday Harvey! A lovely Ablett!
Thank you Dwight.
Nice Fall image, John.
The reflection on the blade is the cherry on top of this mage, Dwight,
What about these rogues in Sheffield, in the 1920's?! :D
Cool image, Jack.
Nice choice as always John. 😎👍

Good morning Guardians. No mistakes with this one. 😊👍View attachment 1937727

Fine images from the market, Jack. Have a good “flop”

Thanks Harvey. If I could even have half the quality of the pictures you post I’d be doing great.
Thank you for the kind words, Jeremy. Still think your image was very nice.👍🏻

Thanks Jack; I think I have it where I want it, It just feels more user friendly to me now; not to mention easier on a pocket. It wasn't that it had really sharp corners; just a little too angular and not rounded enough to suit me. I did not totally round the ends, I just rounded the corners more and polished to match.

The pipe holder; Cline was my Grandfathers name and he band my grandmother died a month apart at the end of 1982. The pipe holder is not monetarily valuable but it's priceless to me.

Here is the knife with better photos.

Nice Fall image, John.
Thank you, Harvey. :)
Looks like a fine morning, Dwight. 🤠
I'd call it a Lambsfoot too... If it doesn't fit the exact definition, I'd say it's close-enough. I really like the swedge too. 🤠
Great picture, Todd. 🤠
How do you get your Ivy to grow so nicely? 😁
Great pictures, Jack. 🤠
Not sure how you passed up the brass bell, it's really cool.
Biscuits and a Honey of a Lambsfoot. 🤠

Hello Jack,

I've sent a picture of your Hartshead Barlow and Cosimo made his interpretation of it ;)
Handle in Bocote and blade in RWL34.
I confirm , it's a great knife :)

Cheers
JM
Cosimo did a nice job Jean-Marc, you have something unique there :)

I think it's an improvement, but also you've made it your own :) So many old couples seem to go within a few months of each other, I think they're the lucky ones :)
Great pictures, Jack. 🤠

Thanks buddy :) I did ask about the bell John, but the Tool Man had £45 on it, and I figured it'd just end up in a box under my bed! :D ;)
