Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Made it to McCloud in time for dinner.
walked around "downtown" for a bit afterwards.
I took pictures of the whole downtown area for you all... Don't blink.

We ate here...

My wife and I shared our meals... steak sammich, and fish and chips... I used my Lambsfoot to cut the fish.

This is where we are staying, right in the heart of "downtown"...

I told you it was a logging town...

This is the Mercantile... used to be the company store and offices. It now has a hotel upstairs and shops down below.
We like to sit on the big porch in the afternoons and visit with the locals. Everybody is very friendly. Our favorite cafe is on the corner.

That's pretty much it. The whole downtown area is one street and two blocks. That's why we like it. 😁 See Y'all tomorrow, hopefully with some morning fish pictures.
Sharing your weekend is treat, John. “Keep on truckin.”
Good morning Guardians, sounds like a few folks had a tough week, so I hope you get to put your feet up this weekend :) It's a dull day here, and I'm thinking I might call in at the Indian Food Festival in Leeds market ;) Whatever you're doing, have a great weekend Guardians :) I've got my Hartshead Barlow back in my pocket ;)
Hope your weekend is fun, Jack. With all these festivals, Leeds is quite the party town.🎉

Good morning Guardians. Took this one yesterday but didn’t use it. If I took a new one today it would look the same anyway. 😄View attachment 1939512
Looks like a great spot to relax, Todd. Fine image.

Good Morning Guardians💂‍♀️

Hope everyone is having a good day :) I had a walk down to Charlie's Cafe, and then thought I'd check out the Indian Food Festival. There were quite a few stalls, but almost all doing the same dishes - chana masala (chickpeas in gravy) is a great money-maker! It all seemed very mediocre, particularly since you can get great Indian food, in Yorkshire, any day of the week! It was early though, and I thought it might pick up later.

I decided to head over to Wakefield, as I wanted something from an army surplus store there. First I went for a second breakfast in a friendly cafe. It wasn't great food, but it was OK, and it was certainly cheap.

They didn't have what I wanted in the surplus store, so I went to check out an antique centre, where I picked up this vintage USA saw, and a small spirit-level :)

500 years ago, Wakefield was a bigger and more influential town than either Leeds or Sheffield, but it's a bit of a dump today, and as I was limping quite heavily, I decided to head back to Leeds.

When I got back to Leeds, a couple of regular Indian outdoor traders I know were complaining that they couldn't make any money selling food, with the Indian Food Festival going on inside. It was certainly much busier than earlier, but the food hall is busy on Saturdays anyway. I queued to buy something from a miserable middle-aged couple I wished I hadn't given my business to, paying more than breakfast had cost me for a couple of spoonful's of chickpeas, and the smallest samosa I've ever seen  Not a great event I have to say, which is a shame :(

Howdy Guardians! Hope y’all are well.
How're you doing Joshua? It's great to see your AC :)
I agree Jack but man there was a lot of to look at anyways! 😎😂
LOL! :D The last time I was in the city centre in the early hours (around 4am), was after my 50th birthday party. I'd been ill, and couldn't drink, but as the taxi I was in was passing through the area in the video, I couldn't believe the carnage I was seeing! There were people just laid out, unconscious in the street! The taxi driver said it was like that every weekend o_O
I've done it again Guardians.

I've gone from this:

The final four??????? Never can tell what the future may bring. :)
A fab four anyway Ed

While I was out, the conkers started dropping earnest on my street. When I was a boy, we would have walked miles to find so many easily obtainable conkers, but now, the only people I see picking them up are middle-aged

Brings back some great memories gathering conkers on walks with my grandpa 😊
