Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I have a question, Jack. When it says buffalo horn handles, is it from actual buffalo or regular plain ole cattle?

Hey, don't start with that stuff now, after all the trouble you've caused! :D I'm eating my pizza now!

It's water-buffalo horn Dave, but one of the reasons that they call it buffalo as opposed to cow is because it comes from a part of the world where there is a sensitivity to killing cattle

No cows were harmed in the making of that pizza! :D

Just swine? Good-looking pizza!

These were taken on our last day in cool, beautiful, rainy Flagstaff before descending back into our desert home. The 115-degree blast furnace we encountered on our way back through Phoenix was certainly a wakeup call. Tucson's 111 degrees seemed bearable by comparison. Ah, well. Back to life, back to reality...

And a Ponderosa Pine stump (with some fungus):

So it'll be desert pics for the foreseeable future ;) Happy Monday, everyone!

Hang in there, Dave!!! :D It's supposed to drop down into the high 90s this week. Fingers crossed

On a related note, anybody know if they make sunscreen for lambsfeet? Maybe one of those little cocktail umbrellas. Or maybe THAT'S why Jack Black Jack Black prefers to shade his lambsfoot with a cool pint ;)

That sure is hot Mikel! Thanks for the fantastic pics though, I love the grain of your ebony :) Have a cool one for me my friend, hope you get some respite soon

As an aside, there is a large grassed area in inner city Sheffield (there were houses there until WW2), close to where I once lived, which was for years known jokingly as 'The Ponderosa' by the locals. Now, it is officially called that! :D

I'll be using this daily for a while, getting to know the nuances and eccentricities of the RLF, or "Ralf" as I'm gonna call him. :D

Welcome to The Guardians Jeff! :) Hope you and Ralf get along :D :)

Thanks, Jack, I just used Ralf to make a sandwich for lunch. While it wasn't ideal at spreading the mayo, it still worked, and did a fine job of cutting the sandwich in half. I don't know what most of these are supposed to measure, but mine is a full tenth over 3½", which is about an eighth inch longer than the GEC #15s measure. That's just long enough to be a lot more useful to me. Very snug but smooth 7 pull, no light between liners, just an excellently crafted knife!
