Good morning Guardians, just on my way to the market, but looking forward to catching up with y'all later in the day. Have a good day Guardians 👍

Good evening Guardians, hope this finds you well. We have a broad membership base here and i have a question without notice for you. Have any of you ever seen potato on the menu at a Chinese restaurant ??? We all have a love of food here, and a broad liking of different foods, just like to see your answers, there is method in my madness. ;) :)
I can’t say that I have with Chinese that I can remember. Other Asian foods are a yes, in curries

That bone and jigging is fabulous. 🤠
We can take it but whatever it is goes to the office and the students get it after school.
Same here, and often times it's returned as soon as class is over.
Beautiful fall image John!
Thank you, Dwight. :)
Knife Rock is looking good, Dwight. 🤠
just on my way to the market
Hope it's a great day, Jack. 🤠

I've had a thing (don't recall the name) that I would describe as a potato pancake or a hash brown - shredded potato fried into a patty, with various savory things dumped on top. And I've had things in dim sum restaurants that were stuffed with mashed potatoes. Potatoes aren't common in American Chinese restaurants, but they grow a lot of potatoes in China, and I suspect that the more traditional restaurants will have them. A good rule of thumb (at least in California) is that if they give you fortune cookies at the end of the meal, it's an Americanized place, but if they give you orange slices it's the real deal.

Evening Guardians !

I had a stuffed Pork Chop with gravy for dinner

Looks tasty Steve, I hope you enjoyed it 😋:)
My latest acquisition and my first old Lambsfoot. It is was made by John Blyde, Sheffield. The seller’s photos were awful and when it arrived someone had decided to take a Dremel or worse to the blade and so it took some effort to remove the gouges. Absolutely my new pocket favorite - rock solid blade, centered with great snap and lovely age to the scales. I haven’t done any homework on the interweb re it’s possible age but if anyone out there has a guesstimate I would love to know….

Congratulations, and welcome to the Guardians (please see post #1)! Wow, a beautiful knife, with classic Sheffield jigging, and a fantastic restoration, well done

John Blyde was one of a family of cutlers, operating several firms, in Sheffield in the 19th and 20th centuries. John Blyde (c.1827-1899) was working as manufacturer of scissors and surgical instruments in 1862. By 1883, the business was making Pen and Pocket knives, table knives, and razors, in addition to scissors, and various other items. John Blyde died in 1899, leaving nearly £12,000 in his will. His son, Arthur John Blyde continued the business, which switched to almost entirely making hand-forged surgical instruments. A.J. Blyde died in 1920, after which the firm became a limited company, returning to making cutlery, and running until the 1970's.

Beautiful stag Jack. 😎👍
Thanks Todd :)
Do you bow hunt Jack?
Bow hunting has been illegal here since 1965 Dwight (but their is a British Bowhunters Association), so I target shoot
Thanks for all the history Jack. It adds so much to the thread and collecting in general.
Thank you my friend :)
Fantastic Fall image  :)
Yup, Old Toffee Wings. I think it was @5K Qs who pointed out the lines of the horn had a wing-like look.

He has a good eye and imagination :)
Enjoy the day and companionship Jack.

Hope you have a good day at the market Jack. Tell Toolman and the Teds howdy. 🤠

Hope it's a great day, Jack. 🤠
Thanks a lot fellers, it was a good day, though Tool Man has done his best to try and nobble me, turning up full of flu, and then asking me to help him move a heavy safe, only to then drop it when I had hold of it, because he'd "forgotten how heavy it was."!!!😖😠 Hoping my back is going to be OK, and that he hasn't infected me! We had some surprise visitors in the form of Tool Man's mother, daughter, and grand daughter. Tool Man's daughter was in the Royal Navy for some years, where she learned a lot about life, and the use of heavy calibre weapons! :D
Good morning Guardians. Catching up on the thread. Lots of great pictures and stories! I bought this map before my first trip to Belize. Faithful companion it is.

Great country to explore and seas to dive in. Very nice K'roo.

The diving is world class for sure. The reef off Ambergris Caye was still recovering from the 2016 hurricane when we last visited in 2018 for a dive trip.
You're a well-travelled lot my friends :) That's pretty cool Pete, Blood Lamb is looking mighty fine :)
I just put a laser edge on this beauty
Nice work  Welcome to the Guardians :)
Have a good one Jack.
Thanks Harvey, despite the rain we've had a lot of recently, temperatures are incredibly mild for the time of year :)
Good Morning Guardians💂‍♀️ Joseph Rodgers coke bottle.
Nice to see that one my friend :) I have a 2-blade version of the same knife, but with less blade, even if the 2 blades are combined! :D Great pic

I hope everyone is doing well, and that you've had a good day :) One of the tool stall regulars brought along a restored vintage BSA bicycle I thought I'd take a few pics of ;) I'm pretty worn out, after a long day, and the sofa beckons :D
