...Since I gave the eldest lad his first Lambsfoot a couple of months back, I am hoping we can do some whittling, so I've just been stropping my old faithful ebony. Haven't carried this one in a while

Woot woot! Just received a package in the mail. The package was shipped from Leeds to Canmore Alberta, by none other than our Special Friend Jack. There is a very long story behind this pk that Jack was following. For whatever reason, it has been taking up to 13 weeks for the mail to arrive. After two Months or more Jack was concerned that I may never receive the Guardian.
He took it upon himself to ship a back up Guardian Registered with international tracking and signature, wrapped up in two envelopes, the knife was sealed inside a taped up plastic container. Oh, I almost forgot, a really cool Yorkshire medallion came as well. Thank you, Jack! Heres to a Good Man.

You're right John! Snoopy was the coolest character of the gang.

First record I ever bought was The Royal Guardsmen's novelty hit "Snoopy vs The Red Baron" in early 1967. (Just Googled it, and found that the song made it to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, but The Monkees' "I'm a Believer" kept it at #2 for several weeks before Snoopy began spiraling back down the charts.)

... I’m Totin my Ironwood bigun around Titusville. I’ll be showing it to Charlie and Bill Howard. Some of us have been lobbying for Great Eastern to make a Lambsfoot. Hambuger,Spambuger! I had an idea last month to take 1/3 of a can of Spam and mix 2/3 ground beef together for the BQ.
It turned out pretty tasty, but then again, I like canned Ravioli! it doesn't take 5-star cooking to please me.

Thanks, Jack. The vacation has been quite relaxing, except for maintaining constant vigilance to chase the flocks of Canadian geese off the lawn because of the messes they make. Looks like a nice pub!

It's a really great pub Dave, fantastic range of beers too Unfortunately, when me and @ADEE looked in today, it was packed, as Huddersfield Town FC were playing 'at home'. We wandered down to the Magic Rock Brewery Tap instead, where we had a couple of excellent pints, and I had a tasty curry. There were already a few Huddersfield Town fans when we arrived, but by the time we left, the numbers had swelled to nearly 500 (the security guard on the gate had them tallied)!

I am going to quit while i am losing.

You got it Jack, next doors cat laughs when it sees me trying to use this machine, sometimes more by luck than judgement i manage to post a picture and i wanted to post a picture of my new Ebony Lambfoot that arrived in this mornings post from The Famous Sheffield Shop facilitated after yesterdays chat with the charming Jane and yes your name did come up,she picked me a winner and i have been making it mine ie flushing and oiling and taking an eraser to the rough bits on the spine. My lovely niece and her two youngsters are taking me to Woburn Centre Parc on Monday, it is all happening just now. I shall circle back and try posting a photo again.

Thanks for the responses to irresponsible parts of my post, Jack!

My vacation diet is certainly not as healthy as when I'm home, I fear. Usually 12 oz of beer per day at home, but I typically have two beers per day on vacation. And the doctor discourages ice cream consumption at home, and I at least half-heartedly comply, but I've been having ice cream twice a day this week.

Slingshot is actually a VERY good suggestion, Jack! I've thrown a lot of stones at geese in the water this week, trying to speed them on their journey away from "my" shore, but my geezer arm is getting sore from throwing without adequate warm-up. A good slingshot would probably be just the ticket (assuming my aim isn't good enough to actually kill geese without appropriate permits).
