Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thank you sir.

Thank you Bob.

Good for her! I assume you are already retired since golf is on your agenda this morning... 😁

Gorgeous CC Ebony Lamb Jack. I love bread too and sourdough is one of my faves for french toast.

Well John at least having your own well will be great when the apocalypse occurs. I've been seriously considering drilling a well and placing a deep well hand pump on it for when the whole system goes down. Hang in there buddy. You might consider just becoming one of the unwashed...😁

Carry on youse guys...View attachment 2042564

Fantastic photo Harvey, a work of art! :)
Thank you Jack.
Nice one Harvey !
Thank you Steve.
Morning Guardians !

Yesterday I had to get up on my roof and clear snow back from the edge of the roof about six feet. With all the early wet snow there are big ice dams forming. This should take care of it for the winter, I hope. It was a workout. First I had to get my big ladder out of the garage and carry it around the front of the house. Then two stories up and then shovel 16 inches deep snow off of the edge. I then had to clear the snow on the ground off of my deck and front walk.

Needless to say I'm pretty sore this morning. Getting too old for that kind of work.
;)

Glad I got it done as I woke up to freezing rain.

Glad you and Rosie and the house are all ok. Now relax.
Wow, beautiful lamb Harvey, love the reflection in the photo. 😎👍
Thank you Todd.

Thanks Jack, I was very careful. Wore my ice spikes and took my time. I'm comfortable with heights and ladders since I've been using them almost all my life. To pay someone to do what I did would be expensive and I didn't want to risk getting water damage on my ceilings. I've been here in this house for twenty three years and this is only the third time I've had to do this. It may be the last time though ;)

PG&E strikes again - errrrrrrrrrrrrr fizzles again. They just don't seem to be able to harden their system to withstand the challenges presented by the current storms. We have a pull start generator for the house but do not have the pump house on it. I keep three seven gallon water containers on hand for toilet flushing and since Cindy's kidney surgery we always have five or six cases of bottled water and 8 to 10 gallon bottles of water on hand for cooking. If you do get a generator get a self-starting one or you can go to the ridiculous price of having an automatic change over system installed. Thankfully, we have Pacific Power and outages are few and far between. Our generator is 5500 watt but should we have to replace it, I'd get one with at least a 7000 watt capacity. One of these days I might get the pump house on the generator.
So happy our power is SMUD and not PG&E - our outages are rare and brief. I do sort of have a long term plan to get a house battery - then you just keep trucking along on the battery until power returns. If we ever move to PG&E territory, I think that plan would get bumped way up in priority.

Hope you didn’t have to work too hard, Steve, and that you can enjoy a nice rest today. I mentioned doing the roof on the back of our house the other day. Today I had to go out and do the front of the house, as overnight it seems to have started forming ice along the edge of the roof as well. Thankfully most of ours can be done from the ground or the deck (though I do use a step ladder on the deck just to get an easier angle).

I’ve seen a few like that second one around town. I’m not envious! 😲😳

I’ll be dreaming of warmer climes. 😉😎

Those look pretty dangerous in themselves Steve! I remember, back in the 70's, there was a case, in Moscow, where someone was killed by a falling six foot icicle! Think it must have fallen a lot further than that though!
I've got this two-blade with me today. It's a stout knife and will come in handy if needed.

Solid choice Ed
I think you did grand job of making the ram jealous. Very nice.
It is nice to say I'm going on 18 yrs. of retirement from teaching.....I help friends with their steel and woodworking businesses occassionally to shake my mind up.
Enjoy your day Dwight.
Good for you Bob
Nice photo of your Rosewood Lamb Tyson

I'm glad the postcard made it Barrett, I only sent a few. Figured I'd send one in case my Xmas card didn't make it, which appears to be the case with several I sent :(

I hope not! ;)

I've been getting ready for my early exit in the morning, and my weekly trip to the market. We've heard the city council are taking away another swathe of stalls, and Tool Man will have to move to a different one, so going to try and enjoy it while the market lasts. We were talking, last week, about what we might all do when the council finally destroy the place, and I suggested we might all meet up for a few pints and lunch, which didn't sound so bad ;) Going to be cold tomorrow, so I shall have my big Ukraine winter coat on, and Big Rose in my pocket :) Hope everyone has a good Thursday

Amazing how government can muck up a good thing.
Enjoy it while you can Jack.

Thanks Bob :) A great many markets have been lost already (Sheffield had more than half a dozen, just in the centre, when I was a kid, now it has none). Because they're old, they tend to be on valuable land, and there are people willing to pay big money for that land, and build fancy hotels or up-market malls there. So who cares about a market that just sells meat, and fruit and vegetables, and old tools, and stuff? :(
Good afternoon Guardians. I’ve enjoyed going through this thread some beautiful craftsmanship in here and although i don’t own one just yet, I’m hoping to joint the club soon.
Great to see you here, and look forward to seeing your first Lambsfoot :)

That’s a stunner Ken. Love this Barlow lamb.
Good Morning Guardians
Going on our second day with out power. I'm using my phone's "hot spot" to check in. They say we won't have power back until Friday morning. So, you'll have to excuse my inactivity these next couple of days. Getting ready to head over to a friend's house to take a shower since we are on a well and have no water without electricity. Maybe it's time to start building a windmill. 😁
Dang John. Sorry to hear the power and water are out. Hoping this resolves quickly for you! Melting snow from the roof to flush toilets good friend!

Thanks Jack. I think it was one of yours that put me on maybe in ox horn I think it was. Now I’m searching everywhere 🤣 Any reputable places I can search for older blades? I’ve mostly always liked smallfixed Blades and some folders so this is new territory for me. Thank you
