Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Great exhibit of stag Jack. I always learn something new from your background explanations.
Many thanks Bob :)
Soaking up the sun!

Definitely sun-kissed Ken! :) I could have done with the warmth of the sun, walking up from my mate's just now! He lives about a mile down the road from me, and it is very cold, with a bitter wind blowing. I was glad to get in :)
As I've said before Jack. I have some mighty fine lambsfoot examples but this one is numero uno.View attachment 2046096
Thank you very much Dwight, you take a wonderful photo of it :)
Quality Jer :)
A brilliant ”Today’s Lesson Is.” Thank you.
Thanks buddy :D

And looking good! Great pics :)

Good morning Guardians, how's your weekend going? I was hoping to call in at Charlie's Cafe on my way to my pal's last night, but it was closed :( I had a nice evening with my friends though, saw their kids, and met their new kittens. The film was interesting, if somewhat unusual, but I didn't enjoy the trudge back up the hill, after midnight, in the cold. Most of my life I haven't gone to bed until midnight, and when I was younger, (and not too much younger), I enjoyed nothing more than walking home in the early hours, or at dawn, but these days I'm usually in bed at midnight, and staying up late leaves me tired the next day. I have some housework to do unfortunately, but I'm hoping to spend some time on the sofa too! :D Carrying my trusty Hartshead Barlow again :) Have a great Sunday Guardians

It is a peaceful time when all the world around you is asleep. The beach was my favorite place to meander after a night out.
Now, burning the midnight oil requires a midday nap.

Absolutely my friend, years ago, even in the cities, the streets were quiet, and peace reigned :) The beach must have been nice :) Beautiful pic :)

I go to bed early, usually around 9:30, because I enjoy waking up before everybody else does.
It's the same reason as you've both mentioned, it's a quiet time when everybody else is sleeping.
Plus, I'm not a morning person. It takes me an hour and a couple of cups of coffee to become tolerable.

Jack, I used to enjoy driving home with the convertible top down, at midnight (or later in the wee hours) on a balmy summer night but not in the winter!🥶 Hopefully you will be well rested today.😴 Your HHB is a great companion.

Good morning Guardians. Watched some NFL football last night and stayed up beyond my bedtime but I slept in and feel pretty good this morning. Yesterday I re-gripped my golf clubs with the help of my HHB. Cutting the old grips off is laborious and can be a bit treacherous if you aren't careful. I'll haveMr. HHB in the pocket again today.

Wonderful Bill, I have done that a few times in the past, but we don't really have the climate for it here! :D Thank you my friend, a couple of hours reading on the sofa did my good, and I've actually arranged to go for a couple of pints with another, as I have a birthday gift for his son :) It sounds like you're having a great weekend buddy :)

That's nice my friend, you have a very positive attitude :)

Thanks to all the Guardians who posted in my Flock thread. I was a bit surprised that the vast majority of us only have a few lambies; I thought there would be more with 5-10 pieces. But upon further reflection I realized that there just aren't very many made any more, and to have large collections would require buying older knives which many are reluctant to get into because of lack of knowledge about pricing and originality.

It comes from being around 5-6 year olds most of my life.
Enjoy your day Jack.
LOL! 😁 That must have been a nice age to teach Bob 😊👍

Thanks for posting it Jeff, it was an interesting thread. They are certainly not the easiest pattern to collect these days. Apart from the factors you mention, since this thread popularised the pattern, prices for vintage Lambs have gone up, and more folks are competing for a declining number of knives. 10 years ago, they were, by far, the most common pattern I found on market stalls, but I see much fewer today.

Edit - And also Dwight and Harvey have them all!! 🤣👍
