Beautiful new family members and a fine lamb. I wish them good health. That would be a safe bet my friend.
Jack I believe you need to get rid of your list of professional services folks. And maybe you could run over to JohnDF's place and refinish his cabinets while your at it.
Very nice Steve. You managed to assemble a might fine flock of lambs in record time. But you have exceptional taste in cutlery.
They are precious Pete!
You'd probably do a better job yourself. - Jack's dental office, heat & air, kitchen cabinets, dog grooming, ghost writing, editing, etc...
Don't know for sure if it's a lambsfoot but it is a beautiful knife for sure.
Meet the additions. Miniature longhair dachshunds.

Have a great weekend all.View attachment 2045779
Well, you started with a proper knife....but I would need a nap before I started a planned day like you have. Enjoy.Good Morning Guardians
The weather is nasty, but we have a busy day today.
Going to drop my son's car off at the shop, then driving 1/2 hour to a funeral, then home to watch the Seahawks playoff game, then we are going to a crab feed fundraiser for the local high school marching band. The crab feed is always a very fun event, with good food, auctions, and prizes. This year we are sitting with the school principal and the band director. I better bring my table manners.![]()

Oh my goodness. Heart meltingMeet the additions. Miniature longhair dachshunds.
Great exhibit of stag Jack. I always learn something new from your background explanations.Very handsome SteveWe're seeing some nice stag lately, and I can't help wondering if Wright's have managed to source some better stuff, or if the dealer they're made up for is supplying it. In the old days, Sheffield companies like Joseph Rodgers used to keep entire rooms of stag, where it would be allowed to season, and they had experts just to buy and look after it, and to cut it for their knives.

Most of the Sheffield cutlery firms have been on their last legs for decades, without the revenue to invest in buying in large stocks of hafting materials, so they were hit particularly hard by the Indian government's decision to ban exports of Sambar stag. British stag simply doesn't have the same qualities as Sambar, it is relatively light, and porous, with little bark or character.

The stag for my SFOs came from old stock, which had been cut decades ago, for steak knives and table cutlery. Because of this, the pieces available were too small for a full-size Swayback Lambsfoot. Which is why I chose to commission the AC Lambs on a smaller frame.
![]()
I next used it on 5 of the 20 Damascus-bladed Lambsfoot SFOs I had made in 2019. Because the Sambar was cut small, it was necessary to double the size of the bolster. This isn't a Barlow though, because the bolster is too short.

Thankfully, there was enough vintage Sambar to use it for my Hartshead Barlow, which has a bolster a third of the length of the handle, just as a Barlow should

As I've said before Jack. I have some mighty fine lambsfoot examples but this one is numero uno.I next used it on 5 of the 20 Damascus-bladed Lambsfoot SFOs I had made in 2019. Because the Sambar was cut small, it was necessary to double the size of the bolster. This isn't a Barlow though, because the bolster is too short.
