Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good morning Guardians, I hope you had a nice evening, and that you have a great weekend ahead :) I ended up getting sucked into working on my crossbow for a couple of hours, and I'm going to push on with that today. I picked up a bunch of DVDs yesterday, and ended up watching a mediocre Western, of recent vintage. Danny Trejo was in it for the first five minutes. I quite like Danny Trejo, but he looked like he had been embalmed! I guess I might look the same if I'd had some of his life experiences! 🤣 Going round to a pal's tonight, to drink beer, and watch The Banshees of Inisherin :) There seems to be quite a bit of Lambsfoot discussion on The Porch right now, posting a link in case anyone misses @black mamba 's thread :) Have a great day Guardians :) Carrying my Hartshead Barlow ;)

Great carry for a well planned day.

I'm flattered Tyson 🙂 I was surprised by the demand for the Rosewood Hartshead Barlows, I thought everyone would want stag! 🙄 There should have been 100 Hartshead Barlows, 80 in stag, and 20 in Rosewood. I initially received 97, 20 in Rosewood, and 77 in stag. The cutler produced two more in stag, which have a file-worked back-spring, one of which I have. One of the Rosewood models had a fault, which I think could be fixed quite easily, but I had another one made, and sent a replacement, which makes 21 in total. Unfortunately, that was at the time the company changed hands, and that knife had a badly ground edge. When I went to pick it up in Sheffield, I also picked up a sample for an Ebony Hartshead Barlow, but the blade was ground just as badly, and the pivot was so tight, I had to open it with pliers! 🤨

I always forget there were so many more stag HHBs made, and so few Rosewood. And an Ebony HHB?! Well of course that would’ve been incredible had the circumstances been different, but obviously it wasn’t meant to be.

Dwight, that’s great news! Please share a few pics with when you can and safe travels.

I’m betting if the three of us got together it would be a blast. I’m also betting it would be more than one drink.
That would be a safe bet my friend.
The dentist reckoned that the crown I stuck back in myself would probably be fine. I couldn't stick the other one in because it was a back tooth. They're going to make a new one. Maybe I could have a second career

Fortunately, I managed to get the boiler working myself
Jack I believe you need to get rid of your list of professional services folks. And maybe you could run over to JohnDF's place and refinish his cabinets while your at it. 😃
Enjoy the joy of adding two new members of the family
:)
Afternoon Guardians !

Ebony today and a picture of the flock 👍

Very nice Steve. You managed to assemble a might fine flock of lambs in record time. But you have exceptional taste in cutlery.
And here they are. Patches and Cinnamon
They are precious Pete!
I could take them to Barber Brian's if you like Pete
You'd probably do a better job yourself. - Jack's dental office, heat & air, kitchen cabinets, dog grooming, ghost writing, editing, etc... 😁
Finally joined the club (assuming this is indeed a lambsfoot). Waiting for delivery, just purchased today…

I had seen a few from A. Wright & Sons that were pretty inexpensive but I noticed that they all seemed to show the spring in half stop position so I took a pass.
Don't know for sure if it's a lambsfoot but it is a beautiful knife for sure.

Meet the additions. Miniature longhair dachshunds.

Looks like you’re doing ok, mate👍🏻
Good morning all,
I plan to freeze my rear off on the golf course then bring some old knives back to life that just arrived.

Welcome Mobilerd, I'm new here also and starting on first post is highly recommended.

Very nice dramatic view of your Stag Lambfoot, Bob.

Very nice, indeed.

That's easy... the fancy Lambsfoot that was built by Stan Shaw for Jack Black... Priceless!
Maybe Jack will grace us with a picture of that gem... Maybe if we all say "pretty please with sugar on top". ;)
Thanks for the nomination buddy :) Here you go! 🤣

Congratulations :) Welcome to the Guardians

It certainly looks like a Lambsfoot, but it can sometimes be hard to tell from a photo, what does the maker say? Great-looking knife

Wright's website is actually run by a local dealer, and the photos haven't been updated for decades, which means the photos can be misleading

LOL! :D I used to do everything myself when I was younger, but consider myself pretty useless these days! :D

Thanks for the vote of confidence my friend :)
