Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I'm not entirely sure about putting black pudding on a burger, my friend. 😁
Repeat after me... "Black pudding is not a replacement for bacon... Nothing is a replacement for Bacon... Bacon is King."
It was nice, but not quite as nice as bacon! :D But I do have bacon for a breakfast sammich now though! :D ;)

Thank you Todd. I did pop a cold can of pop last night with my soup. 👍👍

Thanks Dwight, she is doing much better. Unfortunately I have tested positive. Other than some mental fog I feel fine however. This is my second time.

🤩 mouth watering, that looks amazing

Good morning Guardians,

I’ll be taking it easy for a few days so be forewarned that I may be hyperactive on the forum! I am watching FA cup football this morning and drinking some coffee. Got this lamb on the coffee table keeping me company. Have a great weekend. 😎👍

That fine lamb is sitting pretty Pete.

Stunning pic buddy
Thanks Jack. I don't know about black pudding on a burger...
All the troubles the UK is having with the post is just confirming that to me - such a simple thing we take for granted, but it's one of the foundations of modern civilization. When it breaks down it's a terrible thing
So true Tyson. I hesitate to say this (yes I'm a little superstitious - knock-on-wood). The USPS has NEVER lost a package on me in my entire life. (knock on wood) 🤞🙏

Put your feet up Pete and make the best of your time off.

Bright and sunny today! I don't think the tung oil treatment I gave this knife detracted from the rosewood at all. I also wanted to report, and thank this thread, for the advice on filing the tang to ease opening some lambsfoot knives. I found that even after repeated use, my knife tended to kind of "catch" after just barely opening the knife. I thought this might've been a lack of clearance between the tang and blade well. But, after measuring both with a caliper, there was plenty of room. Gently filed the appropriate corner of the tang and it really smoothed the action out without sacrificing the nice stiff pull I enjoy so very much!

Great to hear you are more comfortable with your lamb.

Glad that worked out :) Looks great :)

Good evening Guardians. Well, my cold tuned into the flu. Been flat on my back that last day and a half. Got to the doctors and picked up some drugs. Feel a little better today but I have a ways to go before I'm back to normal. The good news is that it wasn't Covid. Hope all you Guardians are off to a happy and healthy weekend.

Very sorry to hear this Bill, I hope you are fully on the road to recovery soon

Afternoon Guardians! Captain keeping things in check. 🤠

Captain on deck! :D
I wish i had not of seen this. Another Vice i am going to have now.:eek::eek:
LOL! :D I can definitely see the appeal, there are some cool local radio stations, and it's an interesting window into far-flung places. I did some stuff on BBC local radio as a kid, and nearly went into it after leaving school. Back in the 70's, I listened to the English-language Radio Beirut, and I think they only had 2 presenters, one of whom spoke imperfect English. The other had an American accent, and was called Elaine Jay - "Elaine Jay - Everlasting Joy!" 🤣

Good morning Guardians, poor old Bill, flu can be absolutely rotten! :( I hope he's better soon, and that everyone else is having a better weekend :) Thought I'd pocket my SamDamLamb! ;)

Thanks Tyson, it's more exasperating than troublesome :) That's a real shame, lots of small businesses are going under here right now, and a lot of European companies will no longer ship here :( They privatised the Royal Mail some years ago, and have been running it down since then. I was talking to a postie this morning, and he only confirmed what I already knew, that the mail doesn't get priority because there's no money in it, and RM want to divest themselves of that part of the business. They're actively destroying a service that goes back to the 1600s
I sure hope the folks pushing for privatization over here are paying attention. It's an important public utility, like the electric grid and water/sewage systems, in my opinion.

I hope all ailing Guardians feel better soon.

They have privatised everything, but the air, here Rachel. Water, sewage, electricity, gas, mail, trains, and all other public transport, and increasingly the NHS. It's been a disaster! Most of the utilities are now owned by overseas companies and governments, and there's little investment going back into them. The seas and rivers are filthier than they were in the 1970's, with sewage-strewn beaches nobody wants to visit, electricity and gas prices have increased many fold, with wholesale prices actually having gone down. The Royal Mail is barely functioning, train fares are the most expensive in the world, with so many daily cancellations, it's impossible to plan a trip, rural areas are often completely cut off from public transport, and even in the cities, the bus networks are appalling. As for the NHS, it's all, but collapsed, with huge waiting times for operations, and ambulances queuing for hours just to get into hospitals, people are dying in their homes, on pavement, and in hospital corridors. NHS dentistry has completely collapsed, with folks pulling their own teeth out, they're that desperate. I really don't have the language to describe the appalling mess this country is in, I'm not sure words have yet been coined. On top of this, inflation is into double figures, public sector workers haven't had a proper pay rise for more than a decade, and the national retirement age is advancing swiftly towards 70. Corruption in government is on a scale never seen here before. Among the workers currently striking or engaged in industrial disputes are nurses, train drivers, doctors, teachers, railway workers, fire fighters, postal workers, university lecturers, baggage handlers, barristers, civil servants, ambulance drivers, physiotherapists, bus drivers, midwives, court staff, paramedics, college lecturers, and Border Force workers! Many of these groups have never, ever gone on strike before

Cool pic Rachel :) When I was in the post office yesterday, trying, in vain, to post an overseas parcel, and saw some copies of that book being sold off for a fiver, and had intended to buy a couple of copies. However, the line was so long, I'd have been waiting the best part of an hour

Thank you Jack. I absolutely hate being down with a virus. For what ever reason it takes me awhile to recover from these things. I think that the thing I hate most is not being able to sleep well.
Good morning Guardians. Feeling a little better today. Amazing what modern antibiotics can do for you. Looking forward to watching some football. I think I will also go outdoors today and get some fresh air. Also, I be carrying my HHB.
