I declined an invitation to a Super Bowl party, since I've really been looking forward to staying home and watching. I made a healthy chicken/lentil soup yesterday and I've stocked up on junk food and spirits. I wanna control the remote and not have to drive home afterwards.
The problem with Super Bowl parties is, either everyone is talking and it's hard to focus on the game, or everyone is so focused on the game that it's hard to socialize. Somehow, this can happen simultaneously.Half the people are sports fans and the other half want to watch the commercials and half time show. I like both, so it's hard to know when to take a bathroom break.

"...large amounts of drinking is anticipated..." local KMIZ channel 17 news a few minutes ago talking about Superbowl parties and the expectation that the bars will be full of fans.Extra Highway Patrol to be out and about looking for drunk driving. Me? I'll probably drink a Scotch or two, but I'm staying home and watching the game. I think the two best teams in the league are playing, so hopefully it'll be a good game. I only saw a couple of Eagles games. I think they're going to be hard to handle.

What does "candle ended" mean? A quick Duck search yielded references to "candle end" lobster knives, but naught else
