Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I went to the church to fool with wires and forgot about pancakes.

It is my custom to be at the first day of farm volunteering with bells on.
Tomorrow is cancelled for an expected ice storm, but Thursday should be ok again.
Maybe I'll wear the bells to church to lighten that lugubrious Ash Wednesday mood.

If the ice storm closes the schools, the church will be closed also, and I'll be forced to stay home and eat pancakes and watch my scary shows on antenna tv. (Paranormal State and The Haunting of...)
Funny how many of those haunted celebrities are attractive women. As if some dead guys have only one thing on their mind.

Thanks Bob. Because a lot of the real nice examples everyone shares are not to be made again I’m actually thinking of getting another one to mod. I think it would be neat to pick my own covers, add flutes, etc.

Obviously. Is that vegan/meat-free place at Leeds Market still open, the one with the “hamburgers” and “hot dogs”? I generally have no interest in meat-free alternatives, but some of the food you’ve shared from that place looked pretty good!

It's still there, but I wouldn't eat from it! I went there twice I think, first time I was really impressed, second time I got food poisoning! The veggie Vietnamese pho down there is pretty good

And of course, there’s always the chip butty!

I'm not religious, but I usually abstain from something for Lent - just for hypocrisy's sake Usually I give up alcohol and/or sugar, or cakes, and I thought maybe this year I'd give up the croissants I enjoy at Charlie's cafe, but that seems a bit easy, and then I had the idea of giving up meat for a month! What do you reckon Guardians, do you think I can do it, is it a really stupid idea? Maybe I should just give up sausages, or pies, or maybe that is too easy too What do you think?

Only because you asked… Part of my abbreviated understanding of Lent is that it last 40 days. What if you switched off giving up 1 or 2 things that you hold dearest, each week. Whatever your decision, best wishes on your spiritual journey.

I should probably have planned this better, and gone shopping first, but a deal's a deal, you have my solemn word that I will forego all meat and fish, cheese, and eggs, but not including animal fat or eggs if they are a minor ingredient in something I've purchased (I haven't eaten eggs for 45 years anyway) for the period of Lent! I think I might have got carried away throwing cheese in there, but I don't eat much these days anyway Despite my rising panic, things started out well this morning, with toasted wholemeal sourdough

Historically you were to abstain from meat. But it morphed into just giving something up, i think as a race we got weaker. But the last comment is only my opinion. I should talk, i only give up red meat, i have to have some protein.
