Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Can you share some of that nice weather Bill!? It’s been well below freezing for the past couple of days.

I’m working with some really old material I don’t want to grind in the shop (possible asbestos), so I’ve been doing it outside. I haven’t worked up the nerve to brave it out there since the snow hit, lol.
Back to being cold a rainy this morning here. But cold is a relative term. Only going up to the 50's today - hope you get better weather.

Good morning Guardians. Indoors chores today.

I'd rather be "Fat and Happy" 😁
That's the conclusion I came to too mate! 🤣
I confess to liking a little Corn Flakes, Shredded Wheat, or Grape Nuts for a night time snack.
I can remember sometimes having cereal as a snack in the evenings as a kid :D
You’re having an interesting day. Sorry that part of it was spoiled. Hope the rest of your day returns to good times.
Thanks Harvey, it turned out to be a good day :)
Good Morning Guardians💂‍♀️
Good-looking Lamb in a tree :)
At least it wasn't Soylent Green.
Morning and Happy Friday Guardians

It's a bit chilly here today, -8° F

Nice Black Friday choice David :)
That's a nice one Ed :)
And here we sit at the mercy of ignorance.☹️
Eloquently said Bob
no meat on Fridays during Lent.
Lightweight! :p🤣
Thanks, Jack! Dawn and I have been waiting for your mail to get it together before sending our package to you, but we probably won't be able to get it out this weekend. (One of our dogs is getting a biopsy on a growth on her gums, so we are mostly going to be hunkered down, listening to the rain / hail / graupel, and taking care of our dog.) I'll get it in the mail next week.

Lambsfoot conte...LOOKOUT THAT T-REX HAS A KNI...oh it's a lambsfoot, he's probably alright.

That's very kind of you Tyson, but please don't rush my friend. I hope my package gets to you soon, and that all goes well at the vets :) Cool pic :D
That is a very sad looking roast my ascetic friend.
Yeah, the kids used to be disappointed too! 🤣;)
Nothing boring about that lambsfoot.

Another win for the Lambsfoot! Congratulations Charlie, Eric did us proud :)
That’s a real shame, Jack. 🙁
Yes, very sad :(
As a result of some of the discussion around Jack’s abstaining from meat, I’ve decided to refrain from eating after 8 pm for the same amount of time. This has been a bit of a problem for me recently (really going back to 2020 when we were all stuck at home). After getting the kids to bed, I have a tendency to snack, sometimes quite late, and it certainly hasn’t had a positive affect on my waistline.
Give it a try Barrett  I found it a bit of a struggle at first, but I soon got used to it. I try not to eat after 4.30pm, but sometimes it can be a little later, if I'm having a busy day. I was a big snacker myself, and would often eat late too, particularly if I was eating out, or out boozing! It's made a lot of difference to my digestion, and I feel much better for it. Not sure if it's made any difference to my waistline, but perhaps I am less fat than I might have been otherwise :D
New pic of the HHB to keep things on topic. 🙂

Looking good my friend :)

Thanks. Lacey's had a rough year. First a torn ACL which required fixing the tear and correcting the problem in her knee that led to it. Recently a hematoma in her ear that had to be drained (and now the tip of her right ear is no longer pointy but flops over). And now a (according to the vet) probably cancerous growth on her lower gum. All she knows is that she keeps getting owies and then she gets put in the cone of shame. We're praying for a break for our dog on this one.

Her brother Whiskey is doing fine, other than being unhappy about how we keep hiding his sister Lacey and having Weird Dog, who smells like his sister but has a plastic cone for a head, stay with us. Whiskey loves Lacey more than anything, but doesn't even want Weird Dog to come near him.
Sorry to hear of all Lacey's problems Tyson :( They all look miserable wearing the cone of shame!
Nice photo Jon
Evening Guardians! It's cold around these parts. But 19 has a warm heart. 🤠

Happy Friday! Snow today but turned into a mix. Hopefully we get more tonight like they are saying. My daughter loves it!

Have a great time Pete, cool pics :)
It can be hard to tell from looks alone. I’ve seen lighter colored bog oak that was several thousand years older than some pieces I have that are more or less pure black. I think environment has a lot to do with it. Knowing which country the bog oak came from can help age it without having to carbon date it.

Typically, when you see those nice streaks of gray/white mineralization like that, it’s at least a few thousand years old though. :)
Very interesting Brian, great info :)
Thanks Jack! All is well now. :)

That looks really good! I haven’t been able to find a decent place for sandwiches/baguettes since we moved recently. The struggle is real!!

Alright…. You guys are killing me. I’m gonna go make a snack.
I'm glad to hear that buddy :) Thanks, that Turkish bakery make nice bread for their sandwiches :) I hope you can find somewhere soon

Good day to all. We are getting an artic blast, so no golf. A good day for music.View attachment 2094976

Sounds like a good day to stay in with your Hartshead Barlow Bill :)

Good AFTERNOON Guardians, Blimey, took me more than an hour and a half to catch up! I had a very good night last night :) The Ukrainian rally was very moving, but while well-attended, I was surprised there weren't even more people there. I dare say it could have been better advertised, but still...

After that me and my pal went to the pub for something to eat, and were joined by his missus and kids, which were nice. They all had pizzas, while I had a 'Beyond Burger' with fries and onion rings. Have to say, the burger was a very realistic replacement for meat. Not sure it's any healthier! :D

Me and my mate had our first pint, and then headed off to the boxing, where we were joined by a lot of old friends. The beer flowed readily, and the boxing was good. They were only 3 round contests, but there some very spirited fighters, with good skills. My friend was second on the card, and I have to say that, unlike the rest, the first 2 fights looked to be mis-matches. My pal is 45, but very fit, while his younger opponent looked to be a bit on the flabby side. After a scrappy few minutes, in which my mate quickly got the upper hand, he told me he backed off a little, because he felt bad for his friends who'd paid £25 for a ticket, but as his opponent rallied, he got stuck back in. Soon after, he dropped the lad with a devastating punch to the liver, and while he regained his feet, he didn't recover. After another battering, he was knocked out, and I have to say, it looked to me like he was glad to hit the canvas!

The other nine fights were much better, and it was a good evening, with a great, atmosphere, very friendly despite the central pugilism. After the boxing ended at 11.00pm, my friends who'd travelled to Leeds, wanted to carry on drinking, so I took them to a local pub, where we stayed until after 1.30am. A few then went back to their hotels, others went into the city centre to carry on boozing, while I walked home.

When my alarm went off this morning, I turned it back off, and then had a lie-in like I've not had since I was a teenager! When I woke up, I literally jumped out of bed, worried that I was going to be shouted at! :D I've only had some toast so far today, but I'm going to head down to Charlie's soon I think, and then to an event at the Ukrainian Community Centre. Hope you're all having a great day Guardians

I find when I eat an earlier dinner, I seem to have more energy the next morning. Perhaps I'm sleeping better, although I was never aware of having trouble sleeping before. (my only trouble now is the cat has decided to steal my pillow in the night, and I wake up with my head at an odd angle)

At least it wasn't Soylent Green.
I only like the original flavor. It tastes like 'white'.

Wonderful barlow Jack. Sounds like a rousing time last night, glad your mate came out on top.
I would still be in bed with an ice pack partying like that!🍻🍻

I think the issue with eating late is that you go to bed with food undigested? With me, the problem was that I was suffering with acid reflux :(

Oh no! :D

Thanks Bob, it was a good one :) I've just been speaking to my mate, and he disappointed that he didn't get a better fight, but otherwise had a good night :) Yeah, I feel fine :) Usually, when I've been drinking I feel very tired the next day, and I'm wondering if I am just not getting enough sleep, since I tend to go to bed later, but get up at the same time! :D
