Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thanks.
I'll have to come back for the full documentary. I didn't see me in the short version.
I'd be interested to see the article.
There's a lot of YT content  The article is rambling, but quite funny. I don't have my scanner anymore, but maybe I can photograph it. Or I'll just photocopy it, and put it in the mail Jer
When I worked swing shifts in my late 20s my day usually included a couple of quad mochas in the morning, a pot or two of coffee at work, a large (32 oz) Mountain Dew with dinner, and a 2-liter of Mountain Dew after work. I didn't think caffeine effected me at all at that point - I'd built up immunity, like the Dread Pirate Robert's to iocaine powder. I was a light sleeper, but waking up a lot was just my ninja-like reflexes.

Then I gave up caffeine for Lent one year.

I was physically miserable for about two weeks. Headaches, swollen joints, exhausted, you name it. After that, I slept like a baby every night and was well-rested for the first time in many years. It was positively life changing.

So for the last couple of decades when I drink coffee or tea it's decaf (the occasional non-decaf tea is the one thing I cheat on but not very often) and I drink homemade sparkle water. (Bonuses there are not only no caffeine but no sugar, either, and it's way cheaper to carbonate your own than buy it that way.)
Certainly a powerful drug!

Post-market grub! :D

What up guys and gals. Took today and tomorrow off to spend time with the wife since she had the week off. We are out puttering around doing errands. She insisted on driving so I’m clenching my teeth. 😂

🩸🐑 is out enjoying it.

That's not the only thing I clench when my wife drives. Between us....my wife is the worst driver in the world 😂 😂 . Blood lamb is looking sweet Pete.

Afternoon Guardians !

It's a real stinker of a day here, raining all day so far, It's suppose to turn to snow tonight and then back down in the freezer for tomorrow which will make it a slippery mess everywhere

I got a package that brightened up my day though, it was a lot of ten knives that I won on the big auction site. All decent knives but one was the gem of the bunch and why I bid on the lot. 😍

I had to give it a good cleaning including some surface rust on the backspring and slightly reprofile the very tip as it had a chip. Other than that it's good to go, snappy and sharp !

Thats an awesome lamb Steve with a lot of steel left. Great find my friend.

I should have made my intent clearer. Nearly everyone here has used knives, and tools all their lives and has hands on experience with doing things. The average Joe walking the street has never had these life skills taught to them, or as a friend of mine says, never had a grain of dirt under their fingernails. But i will stand by my original statement regarding bicycles, i don't know one kid who can change a bike tyre little lone fix a puncture. They get Mum to drive them to the bike shop to get the man there to do it. I was in a bike shop years ago when i kid wheeled his bike in with his mum, it had a flat tyre. The bloke quoted $20 to replace the tube and Mum did not flinch, just handed over the money. And very few people have ever worked in any work place that remotely revolves around fixing things, eg. an uncles tire shop. 🤣

No worries, Leon. I understand what you meant, and in many cases, sadly, you’re correct.

They look good Barrett :) There are a few recipes I wish I'd written down myself! :D

I’m usually pretty good about writing that sort of thing down. Yesterday I wanted to bake banana bread with some ripe bananas no one had eaten, and I had to go digging through a few pocket notebooks from the last couple years to find the recipe I’d used a few times before.

I actually have a larger, dedicated notebook for recipes, but I usually wait until I’ve made something several times and adjusted the recipe to my liking before it goes in that one.

Happy AnniversarrrEEE! Barrett :D :) Great way to celebrate, your pizza looks fantastic! 😋 That's a BIG pretzel! :D Sweet pic of Scout :)

Happy Anniversary, my friend. :)
That's a perfect pie to celebrate with.

Happy Anniversary Barrett. That looks like very good pizza.
Goodness gracious! Scout's eyes are incredible! :D What a beauty!

Thanks, guys! 🙂 I have to admit, I felt a bit guilty after the fact about posting that pizza in this thread, what with Jack’s abstaining from meat and all. They call that pizza “The Bear” and it’s has just about every meat they have on it: pepperoni, Italian sausage, ground beef, bacon, Canadian bacon and chicken. 🤣

Jack, I shared a bit of Scout’s giant pretzel, it was quite good (as was the beer cheese dipping sauce). She put quite a bit of it away herself, too!

Dwight, Scout’s the only one of us with blue eyes. Mine are green, and my wife and Eleanor both have brown eyes. Thank you for your kind words.

After getting my hair cut, I met up with my pal for coffee in the Corn Exchange. It turns out the schools are on strike today and tomorrow, so he had his two youngest kids with him. They had decided to dress up as "Rock Stars"! :D

We all had coffee/hot chocolate and cake, and offered to buy them lunch, but my mate still had to work unfortunately :(

Sounds like fun, Jack, even if you only got a short visit. I’m surprised kids pretend to be rock stars anymore, and not “influencers” or YouTubers. 🙄🤣

Bit of a trip down Memory Lane Jer! :D Such an interesting area, though I think it was better when we lived there, rather than the name-dropping author, a decade later, when gentrification had well and truly set in. It brought back some happy memories though, and I enjoyed reading what is really just a stretched stream-of-consciousness article. I'll try and photocopy it for you

The Beast unleashed! :D

Hope everyone is having a good day :) I was hoping to get a nap, but not sure I'll get a chance now, before I eat. The market was fun, as usual. Tool Man's main pre-occupation today has been a new tattoo, which he is thinking of having, a winged wheel from a pocket watch he has. He knows a young tattooist, Kenny, who I don't have a lot of time for, being as he is covered head-to-toe in every gang tattoo imaginable, and dresses like a prison thug, whereas he is in reality a posing, soft, posh boy. Tool Man, being Tool Man, had decided he wanted this tattoo on the back of his neck, and had discussed the tattoo with Kenny, who has inked a lot of his previous tattoos, before. Having no sense of direction, or knowledge of the streets of Leeds, he didn't actually know where Kenny did his tattooing, except that it was somewhere near the market. I guessed where it was, and took Tool Man there, but the shop hadn't opened yet, so I suggested Tool Man go to ask Barber Brian if he had Kenny's phone number.

I went off to buy some Eccles Cakes, and Tool Man went to see Brian. He obtained the number, and spoke to Kenny on the phone, and an hour later, quite excited, he went off to see Kenny at the shop. He returned later saying, somewhat forlornly, that Kenny, who has facial tattoos that might get him killed in some places, was no longer doing neck tattoos. I have suggested that we go into the shop, and seriously menace him on the issue! :D I hope Tool Man takes me up ;)

The market is certainly full of colourful characters, and I managed to finally get a snap of this harmless nut-case, though only from behind unfortunately. He dresses up either as a late 20th century ferry captain, or a 1960's airline pilot, and has wandered around like that for years. He was the Captain today! :D

Tool Man has taken a somewhat irrational position with regards to his recent health problems, and his diet has actually got worse! "Well, if I'm going to die, I'm going to die happy!" Nobody has actually mentioned dying, but he is shovelling fried Spam sandwiches down his neck, like he's in his final days! I was feeling peckish, but couldn't really decide what I fancied, so I wandered around for a bit, and got a Tunisian pizza from a stall in the market. It wasn't much like an Italian pizza, but it was freshly-baked, and very tasty, as well as being extremely spicy! :D

Tool Man returned from his foray to see Kenny clutching a large Bearclaw, (known as an Elephant's Foot), and proceeded to get cream all over everything, including my bag, and his nose. I left him half an hour, before handing him a Kleenex, and telling him about the latter! 🤣 ;)

I always enjoy your Thursday Market Day reports, Jack!:thumbsup:🤣

Good looking vintage lamb, Steve!

I added chocolate chips to my banana bread this time around, which I don’t normally do. They aren’t really necessary, but not bad, either. Toasted, buttered, sprinkle of kosher salt.

Have you been going through photo albums of some of my old girlfriends.
Leon we must have dated some of the same gals!
Good day everyone......Market day..
Wow what a market!

Very cool shadow lamb David.
Tool Man has taken a somewhat irrational position
This phrase is a "foregone conclusion" is it not? 😁
one was the gem of the bunch
A gem indeed Steve. I see why you snatched up the group.
