I only use a slip if I'm carrying two knives in the same pocket. So I've carried the HHB every day since I received it fromJack Black and I've decided that I will carry it every day until Lacey gets paroled from the Cone of Shame (probably at her vets visit on the 30th). (And I may keep on carrying it after that, too!)
But here's my conundrum: I'm currently carrying it in the wool slip that came with it. But this means that whatever other knife I'm carrying ends up doing most of the work, because I don't have time to fiddle around with a pocket slip. (This is why I normally never carry knives in slips.)
And I usually like the slightly scratched-up bolsters that come with dumping the knife in a pocket with keys and pen and another knife and whatnot.
But I have hesitated to do that to the HHB - it feels too pretty and fancy for that. So I'd be interested in the Guardians' thoughts on this. Do I keep it in a slip and keep it pretty but rarely used? Or do I just throw it in my pocket and put it to work, and enjoy the bolster patina that tells my story with this knife?

This is called tuning the world out...
I still find it hard to believe there are 12 speakers ( armatures) in each ear piece.View attachment 2124590
I like the plain ones, but Charlie bakes half a dozen varieties. I managed to get the last one todayThat croissant looks sinfully delicious Jack.
That's very kind of you PaulThe horn lamb lasted one day. It is currently in a padded envelope getting ready to be sent to a fellow Guardian.
Thanks buddy, nothing too exciting, but that suits me well enoughThank you Jack.
You as well friend. Hope you have a great day planned.
LOL!Ever since joining this forum, I have noticed that my post office visits have increased about 1000%. I feel like I go there every other day. Looks delicious!! Great way to start the day Jack.

After returning from the post office, I thought I'd try to pick up a couple of samosas from a local shop, but their delivery hadn't arrived yetI bought these from a health food shop at the start of Lent. I always thought nut-cutlets were a joke!
They don't claim to be nut-cutlets, but they're what I imagine a nut-cutlet might look like!
They were quite tasty, fried in a little sesame oil

Thanks Rachel, I did enjoy it!What a tasty looking carb-fest, Jack!
When my brother comes to visit, he always insists we have at least one breakfast at the neighborhood Mexican restaurant because he gets a kick out of having beans for breakfast. He just returned home from a business trip to England, and I asked if he had breakfast beans there. He told me he had a "Full English" which he enjoyed very much. He even liked the catsup, which he's never been fond of. He read the label and noticed even though it's the same brand he gets here, the English version is made with sugar instead of corn syrup. It's a shame our food standards are so lacking in the United States. There's corn syrup in everything.
I have wondered if I'd have more patina on mine without a slip. Yours is looking good Rachel, nice picI only use a slip if I'm carrying two knives in the same pocket.
Of course it's your decision to make, but the HHB is a uniquely fine candidate for slipless carry. One of the things about it that I find especially neat is that the perfectly thumb-sized bolsters are made of the same steel as the blade (though differently heat treated, I assume) , I enjoy comparing the patinas.

Thanks Rufus, the meatless options have been a bit of revelation, I really haven't had to look hard at all, in fact I have been quite lazy reallyJack that HHB is looking great, and your meatless options seem to be better then the crap that I see in the store.
Samosas are a favorite of mine Jack.I like the plain ones, but Charlie bakes half a dozen varieties. I managed to get the last one today![]()

Mine too Bob, I could just about live on them!Samosas are a favorite of mine Jack.
I hope we don't have to wrap you in bubble wrap like Ed. Take care of that ankle.
Funny, two packages have been trying to escape England for the past 2 weeks.!![]()
I think they were listed as quinoa and vegetable burgers, made by an organic food co-op (rolled on the thighs of hippies)! They look good.
I don't think we have nut cutlets in Michiganese.

No better here Jack. I sent a package to Dwight and it ended up in Puerto Rico!!Mine too Bob, I could just about live on them!I hope not! I was talking to the postman, and he was saying the same thing has happened to him, on my street, but he is young, and probably weighs half of what I do!
Yeah, I don't know if the tracking is that accurate. I sent one a few weeks back, and noticed it supposedly hadn't left the country two weeks later, but then it was delivered the next day. The mail is a mess here though, a package I sent to
Johnnythefox took nearly a week to reach him

Yes, the Mexican Cokes are popular enough, I would think Coke-a-cola would market it here. I remember them making a seasonal, kosher-for-Passover version without corn syrup. I don't know if they still do that, as I haven't seen it for years. Thanks Rachel, I did enjoy it!That's funny about your brother, I'm glad he liked his Full English!

Funny how recipes vary, like that, from place to place. Folks have mentioned the sugar/corn syrup thing a few times, though perhaps in relation to US versus Mexican Coke?

Perhaps best of both worlds…easy in/out slip and more use?So I've carried the HHB every day since I received it fromJack Black and I've decided that I will carry it every day until Lacey gets paroled from the Cone of Shame (probably at her vets visit on the 30th). (And I may keep on carrying it after that, too!)

I use in ear monitors when I play drums on Sunday mornings, though not nearly as nice as yours. I have a pair of Beats earbuds that fit the bill alright.Thank you. They are custom made in ear monitors for my on the go listening. ( another rabbit hole for me).

Yours looks just like I hoped they would RachelThanks. I like a knife that only looks better with thumbprints.![]()
Thanks Steve, I don't think it was entirely better from the previous sprainHope your ankle isn't too bad !
The two bladed Joseph Rogers that I bought on Feb 3rd seems to have been lost before leaving England. This was sent out by Evri and there has been no tracking update since the beginning of Feb. I just got a refund for it but the seller still thinks it could eventually show up.
