That is a good looking Vanilla slice, i'm off those as well.had a vanilla slice in the market,
I personally use a slip but sounds like your a no slip kind of guy Tyson. I say go for it and use it like your accustomed to using your knives. Of course just my measly two cents. So I've carried the HHB every day since I received it fromJack Black and I've decided that I will carry it every day until Lacey gets paroled from the Cone of Shame (probably at her vets visit on the 30th). (And I may keep on carrying it after that, too!)
But here's my conundrum: I'm currently carrying it in the wool slip that came with it. But this means that whatever other knife I'm carrying ends up doing most of the work, because I don't have time to fiddle around with a pocket slip. (This is why I normally never carry knives in slips.)
And I usually like the slightly scratched-up bolsters that come with dumping the knife in a pocket with keys and pen and another knife and whatnot.
But I have hesitated to do that to the HHB - it feels too pretty and fancy for that. So I'd be interested in the Guardians' thoughts on this. Do I keep it in a slip and keep it pretty but rarely used? Or do I just throw it in my pocket and put it to work, and enjoy the bolster patina that tells my story with this knife?

Looks delicious Paul
Horn looks good buddyThis little guy was in the mailbox from the UK. Smallest A. Wright so far in the flock. Was hoping to get heavy streaking in the horn but will just be thankful that there is some. Interesting that the curve on the handle is a lot more pronounced on this example. The blade spine angles down steeper as well. Anyway, happy to have it.

Glad to hear your sciatica improved. Did it get better on its own, or did you finally get some form of treatment?

If the slip is stopping you using it, just throw it in your pocket Tyson, you won't break it!So I've carried the HHB every day since I received it fromJack Black and I've decided that I will carry it every day until Lacey gets paroled from the Cone of Shame (probably at her vets visit on the 30th). Charlie actually want a different Sheffield style for his Lambsfoot, but I think GEC did a great job in replicating another common old Sheffield jigging patternGood morning Jack...I do enjoy the older jigging.
I'm with you, throw it in your pocket, unless there is a fragile coat on it.
My mistake in my early morning reading.Charlie actually want a different Sheffield style for his Lambsfoot, but I think GEC did a great job in replicating another common old Sheffield jigging pattern
I like a pocket slip myself, but mainly because it keeps the knife upright in my pocket, whereas otherwise it would fall horizontally. It may take fractionally longer to get my knife out, but it's not often I'm in a hurry, and it gives me the opportunity to admire the fine quality slips I've been gifted, such as the one made byJohnDF , which homes my Hartshead Barlow

Not at all Bob, if I didn't like pocket slips, I'd feel fine about just dropping my Hartshead Barlow straight in my pocket, I don't baby it at allMy mistake in my early morning reading.![]()
