Afternoon Guardians! Sheldon Lamb today. Sure is an interesting knife. I'm slowly getting use to it. Happy trails!

It's a VERY interesting knife David  I don't know if you have seen this thread, which includes a few posts from Mr Sheldon's grandson?
Thank you Jack. I hope Wolfie mopped the canvas with him. 😁
Sadly not :( He had a powerful opponent, and it was a very scrappy fight from the off, but Wolfie looked to be doing well. This continued into round 2, but unfortunately a post, and the referee's back blocked the view of the key action. This was unexpected break in the action, and through the legs of the ref, I saw Wolfie on one knee, TKO! :( I'll do a bit of research on his opponent later, see if I can turn anything up
@black mamba
Gorgeous new Albers Jeff. Doesn't get any better.

Fantastic Dwight, you nail that Damascus every time
It's always a treat to see your Blood Lamb Pete :)
My apologies for the absence this week. I am working on the budget which is a consuming process. The good news is…it’s 51 weeks away from the next budget! πŸ™πŸ˜‚πŸ˜Ž
That doesn't sound like a lot of fun! Glad to have you back buddy :)
Best with peanut butter, especially Laura Scudder's, which is just peanuts and a little salt. No sugar or anything else added. And you gotta fry the Spam in butter.
I'd bet Tool Man would like that Vince, but I'd have to make it for him, as he is such a conservative eater :D
I have been working on my budget, took me 1 minute. I'm Broke. πŸ˜΅πŸ˜΅πŸ˜΅πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«
Have you been down the back of the sofa yet!?! 🀣
Like this you mean my dear friend. πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹.

Nice patina there Leon
After looking up the Grey Poupon commercial, I went down a bit of a YouTube rabbit hole that resulted in me watching this video of a β€œmustard expert” comparing cheap vs. expensive mustards. (I actually found it more interesting than it sounds, but maybe that’s because I really like mustard.)

I’ve watched some other videos in the same series before (beer, whiskey, etc.) and my only complaint is that they never tell you the brands of the things their tasting.
Interesting video Barrett, (even though I'm not a great mustard fan - despite my love of Secret Aardvark), that is irritating about not naming brands though, particularly with regard to beer and whiskey

Good morning guardians, I hope you all have a nice Saturday. Heres a pic of Rosie from the balcony of my room. I think I’m going for a hike today since I have no official duties today.

It looks like a nice day there Daniel, I hope you enjoy your hike :) Excellent pic

Good morning Guardians, it was a shame about Wolfie's Round 2 defeat last night, but while it put a damper on any celebrations, he was on later on the card than last time, and the beer had been flowing very freely before that - despite the absolutely rip-off prices, (Β£6.50 a 3/4 pint, Β£3.50 for a small bottle of Coke), and a long queue for the bar. There were some old friends I haven't seen in a while, and it was generally a pretty nice night. My ears are still ringing from the moron DJ, who had the muzak cranked up to 11 as soon as the doors opened, but they're probably not ringing as much as poor Wolfie's! Wolfie was OK though, and even gave me a lift home :) The weather here is miserable today, and I haven't made any plans to do anything, going to just have a lazy day I think, fondling my Albers Lambsfoot on the sofa :D Wishing everyone a lovely weekend

Hello, i am french and here is my first lambfoot.

Found on e-bay from France, we do not found this kind if knives in France.
We can easily find old german knives, some americans, few Spanish and a bit of Italian knives but almost no English knives, except table knives (old knives i mean)
I guess the volume of manufacted knives at Sheffield is too low since the first world war.

It's a carbon steel blade.
Synthetic handle (poor touch and visual).
Brass bolsters.
Well mounted.

Sorry, i do not remember the english name, the stamp "real lambfoot" is not "hammered" but looks like electric stamp.

There is not name, but i guess this is an A. Wright manufactured knife.

I haven't read the entire 3800 pages of the gardians, then i am not able to estimate a date.

Sorry for Wolfie's loss but applaud him for is courage.
Enjoy the quiet with your fine example of a lamb Jack.

Bienvenue! Welcome to the Guardians my friend, and thanks for showing your Lambsfoot :) Sheffield cutlers call those covers 'Bexoid' or 'Bex' after an earlier form of plastic they used, of that name. The bolsters are nickel-silver, rather than brass. It is very probably made by Wright's, and etched with the machine shown below. Please check out post #1 of this thread, there is some useful information there, including a link to the Guardian's world map :)

Thanks a lot.

I have already bookmarked the post #1 and #406.
Regarding the nickel-silver, i did not thought it could be this color, in fact it's really between gold and silver, i guess it depend on the alloy.

Wouah ! the map on post#1 !

Sorry to hear about Wolfie, Jack, though moving later in the card generally means more difficult opponents right? Great looking Albers today, how is the slip working for it?

Thank you Jack! I hope your Saturday is a good one.
Thanks a lot Pete, you too mate πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

Thanks Jeremy 😊 Yes, they were a tough bunch of fighters. The last time I saw him fight, all the boxers were drawn from two Leeds boxing clubs. This time they were from all over the country. The slip is perfect Jeremy, I like the tapering shape, and it accommodates the Albers just right πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

Got some seeds in the ground with the help of my Lambsfoot yesterday. And woke up to a light rain this morning which should give a boost to the germination of the seeds. Hoping the Lord will bless with a bountiful crop so I can share with others.
Nice work :)

Last day of work befor four glorious days off. Hope everyone is having a great day. Enjoyed the pictures that Jack posted of Tool Man and his new knife. Look forward to future stories of the Saga of the Tool Man.

My morning started with watching a battery of 155mm howitzers conduct a live fire. Was good to hear and see the thump and boom of freedom again.

Carrying the Albers burl today. Slip was made by our very own sbh06 sbh06 .
