Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Last day of work befor four glorious days off. Hope everyone is having a great day. Enjoyed the pictures that Jack posted of Tool Man and his new knife. Look forward to future stories of the Saga of the Tool Man.
🤣 Enjoy your time off Paul :)
My morning started with watching a battery of 155mm howitzers conduct a live fire. Was good to hear and see the thump and boom of freedom again.

Carrying the Albers burl today. Slip was made by our very own @sbh06.

Ah…summer in the City by the Bay. The fog has rolled in overnight but should burn off by noon šŸ¤ž. Off to my weekly pilgrimage to the grocery store. Taking the Harvey Special....
Wrong thread buddy! ;) can you edit your pic please? :)

Very nice LF knife. I haven't been successful in acquiring any of Albers knives, unfortunately.🄺

View attachment 2161385Good afternoon Guardians. Slow day today - raining off and on here. Just one of those days where I can't seem to get going. My HHB keeping me company - going to oil the joints.
I know what you mean Bill, I haven't even tried today, feels like a Sunday! :D Your Hartshead Barlow is looking as good as ever :)

Beautiful, and well photographed!

Fantabulous Jeff ! :)

Thank you, Barrett and Jack, I'm thrilled to have it. My other two lambs have names, but I haven't come up with one yet for the Albers.
Might just go with Gidge, for the wood of course.

Thankfully, I spend a lot of the day cruising around outside.

Thank you, Bob.

If I remember correctly there are 200 more due to come out. If everyone who has one just sits on the sidelines it would be easier. That however is never going to happen and I don't want to go down that rabbit hole. I will just end with.......good luck, Bill. I hope you and the rest of the Guardians are able to get one.

Sorry for Wolfie's loss but applaud him for is courage.
I have always had a keen interest in boxing since doing boxing as a kid{ but another thing you can add to the list that i was no good at šŸ˜‚ šŸ˜‚ šŸ˜‚ šŸ˜‚ }and have developed lifelong friendships with kids who went on to be Pro's. And in relation to your comment they all said the scariest place on earth is when you climb through those ropes and you are on the square canvas. You're on your own and no one can help you now.

I haven't made any plans to do anything, going to just have a lazy day I think, fondling my Albers Lambsfoot on the sofa :D
Great way to spend a lazy day, and i have feeling in my waters that your Albers is strong favourite to become your favourite Lamb. 🄰 🄰 🄰 🄰 🄰 🄰 🄰

It's a VERY interesting knife David  I don't know if you have seen this thread, which includes a few posts from Mr Sheldon's grandson?
Thanks Jack. I've read through that thread several times. Thank you for the wealth of information in it! 🤠
Good morning Guardians, it was a shame about Wolfie's Round 2 defeat last night, but while it put a damper on any celebrations, he was on later on the card than last time, and the beer had been flowing very freely before that - despite the absolutely rip-off prices, (£6.50 a 3/4 pint, £3.50 for a small bottle of Coke), and a long queue for the bar. There were some old friends I haven't seen in a while, and it was generally a pretty nice night. My ears are still ringing from the moron DJ, who had the muzak cranked up to 11 as soon as the doors opened, but they're probably not ringing as much as poor Wolfie's! Wolfie was OK though, and even gave me a lift home :) The weather here is miserable today, and I haven't made any plans to do anything, going to just have a lazy day I think, fondling my Albers Lambsfoot on the sofa :D Wishing everyone a lovely weekend

Hello, i am french and here is my first lambfoot.

Found on e-bay from France, we do not found this kind if knives in France.
We can easily find old german knives, some americans, few Spanish and a bit of Italian knives but almost no English knives, except table knives (old knives i mean)
I guess the volume of manufacted knives at Sheffield is too low since the first world war.

It's a carbon steel blade.
Synthetic handle (poor touch and visual).
Brass bolsters.
Well mounted.

Sorry, i do not remember the english name, the stamp "real lambfoot" is not "hammered" but looks like electric stamp.

There is not name, but i guess this is an A. Wright manufactured knife.

I haven't read the entire 3800 pages of the gardians, then i am not able to estimate a date.

Thanks to the gardians for the great informations i read.

Welcome! That’s a good looking old Lamb you’ve got there, plenty of life left in that blade. If you don’t care much for the synthetic handles, it might be a good candidate for a re-cover.

Enjoy your long ā€œweekend,ā€ Paul! Nice pic!

We tried out a new place in Eden Prairie for dinner tonight. Eden Prairie — not to be confused with Eden Valley — might sound familiar if you’ve seen the third season of the Fargo series. šŸ˜‰

Anyways, this place had an impressive (if somewhat expensive) list of bourbons, as well as a nice selection of beers. I had a ā€œTaylor beerā€ from Prairie Artisan Ales that I hadn’t tried before called Vape Tricks. I’m a big fan of Prairie. They’re out of Oklahoma, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen any of their stuff available on draft here in MN before. They make some really interesting stuff, and this sour ale didn’t disappoint. It reminded me a lot of one of my favorite sours, New Belgium’s La Folie, which I haven’t had in a few years.

For dinner I had a burger called The Next Day. Hash browns, bacon, a fried egg, cheese and, in lieu of a regular bun, French toast.

My wife (who I should mention is a registered dietitian) ordered a PB&J burger with a donut for a bun. 🤣
