Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is doing OK. I'm still working here, but I also arranged, last week, to go for a walk with my elderly neighbours John and Bridget, and have a light lunch. I just hope John puts his hearing-aid in for once!Carrying my Hartshead Barlow for the first time in a week
Have a good day Guardians

Good morning Guardians. Yesterday I had a very good day on the links. Weather was superb too. This morning; not so great but we need the rain. We have a large pine tree in the back yard that is going to be removed. Too close to the house and if , during a hurricane, it ever came down on our home it would be disasterous. Was going to be cut down today but got rescheduled for tomorrow and I fear it won't happen because of the wet ground and the problems that issue presents to any machinery that is going to be brought in. Tearing up our yard is a "NO BUENO". My HHB posing with the offending pine tree.View attachment 2165513View attachment 2165514

It's a shame it has to be cut down but better safe than sorry !
Great picture Jack !
Sounds like a great time, Jack. Now to the question that I am sure everyone is dying to know.........Did she get her email account sorted?I had a 4 or 5 mile walk with my neighbours, with a lunch-stop and coffee halfway through (guess who paid for that!). They're a bit like the British Royal Family, my neighbours, and John reminds me of the late Duke of Edinburgh , John kind of wanders around, approaching strangers, and saying slightly strange things, which are sometimes unintelligible, and sometimes cause offense. Like the former Queen Mother, Bridget eats like a horse. Neither of them ever seem to carry cash!
John has been somewhat eccentric all the time I've known him, in the way that posh English people often are, but I fear he may be sliding into dementia. Not only does he eschew his spectacles, but he refuses to wear his hearing aid!
Lunch was nice enough, a bit overpriced, but John kept getting up, and wittering away to people. He has an ironic sense of humour, which has never been very funny, but the irony only works if you realise he's joking, and it's only going to be a matter of time before he gets himself into trouble

That is the nicest back yard in the history of back yards, Bill. I would be useless sitting on that dock with a cigar in one hand andGood morning Guardians. Thanks pal.Cool pic my friend, you have an interesting coin collection
My father-in-law wears his at all times and the first thing I ask him before we talk is - "are your hearing aids turned up?" because he never turns them up - says - "All that noise is very annoying."I just hope John puts his hearing-aid in for once!
I was working the aftermath of a tornado in Little Rock one night. The folks of a particular block in a neighborhood were standing in the street when we pulled up. They said everyone in their block was accounted for except one woman and her small child. I walked the length of a huge pine tree that had fallen on her house and found her and her child directly underneath the tree in a corner bedroom. They had not survived. Good move to remove it Bill.Good morning Guardians. Yesterday I had a very good day on the links. Weather was superb too. This morning; not so great but we need the rain.
