Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I ordered one in Natural Stag. Hoping I find more sources for future purchases. Was looking how to message you to be added to e-mail list...

Hope it arrives before the snow flies here as Id like to take a photo of it with my Anniversary T-100 Bonneville.

I hope the stag is nice. I'm afraid that, as a basic member, it's a bit hard for you to leave messages, to say the least. If you want to post a hyphenated email address here (you could always set up a new one), you could edit it out later? Up to you of course

Fantastic choice of bike

I have a rather busy week coming up o_O I am starting off tomorrow with a trip to the post office, and then I am going over to Huddersfield, and one of the small mill towns located nearby. I won't be seeing wither ADEE or ScruffUK unfortunately, but I hope to catch up with an old friend at some point :) I'll have my ACL with me. Have a good week folks

I'm thinking for the USA a couple of weeks or so  :D
There's no telling. I had one delivered in four days. The one I've got coming waited five days to be prepared for shipping and should be waiting in customs tomorrow or so.

But in my limited experience, knives from businesses get through faster than knives from people.

T-100  I had a 650 Triumph Trophy in the late 60's early 70's then slipped up to a 750 Norton Comando

There's really no telling with shipping, it depends on so many things, not least what sort of postage was used. Priority shipping is supposed to be 5-7 days, but we all know it usually takes longer than that. Your 4 days was a record screened porch screened porch , particularly as it was over the weekend. That was shipped by me, but some of the part-time knife dealers probably struggle to find their way to the post office. Then there's you in Canada Dave, whose waited ages for all his packages, irrespective of who shipped them. I've had packages take a couple of months coming the other way from the US too o_O A lot of it just seems to be the luck of the draw, if you're lucky, it's a week to ten days  I could probably give an average, but then so many folks don't let me know there package has arrived

It's great seeing all the pictures of everyone's Ashley's Choice Lambsfoots. :)
Great pictures from everyone!!!
Here is a picture showing a comparison of two stag handled Lambsfoot models with about 100 years between them. A Joseph Elliot on the left, with a new Wright on the right.
Both are sitting on a wonderful Yorkshire history book courtesy of Jack, although Jack knows well more than is told in the book. :)

You are too kind my friend :) Great pic, and that is a wonderful Elliott. The stag is absolutely beautiful, they didn't waste a bit of the bark back then, knew just how to cut it :) Ashley's dad and granddad were at Elliott's
I wonder if my stag handles will look that dark in 100 years, or do you think they started out with darker bark back then?
Have a pleasant what's left of the weekend, Guardians!

Beautiful Gary, hope you're enjoying carrying it :) I thought I'd spare you having to use a bubble-wrap slip again! :D ;)
...
I'll try to explain this cryptic comment from Jack. :) When he sent out the 2018 ebony Guardians Lambsfoot knives, he wrapped them up very securely, as is his custom, including an initial wrapping of bubblewrap taped around the knife itself. I decided to use that little bubblewrap tube as a temporary pocket slip, but it worked so well I began using it on a daily basis. I was amazed that it held up for a long time ;): I started using it on June 1 when my Black Jack arrived, and I finally discarded it less than two weeks ago when the inside layers had started separating to the point that it was difficult to insert a knife into the slip completely.

Jack found this story to be entertaining, I think, and when I opened my AC Lambsfoot package this week, I found that Jack had thoughtfully included a small Rough Rider sheath with a pocket clip on the back. I actually have a slip just like it that came with my RR dogleg lockback mini canoe (an unusual pattern ;)) a couple of years ago. I had decided at that time that I didn't like using the clip, mainly because I didn't like the looks of the clip sticking out on the edge of my pocket. But this week, I wanted to give that type of slip another try because the stag lambsfoot fit so well!

At first, I thought I might be able to use it clipped diagonally across the back of my suspenders below the adjustment bar where there are actually 2 layers of material; my hope was that the slip/knife would ride completely behind the suspender "strap" and the clip would be hidden between the 2 layers, and the entire rig would then be completely concealed. But the sheath is a little too long for that. What I've ended up doing is clipping the sheath inside the waist band of my pants immediately to the right of my left front pocket and next to a belt loop and a suspender clip on the waist band. The clip is hardly noticeable there (and would be completely hidden if my wife and daughter were not so adamant that I can NOT wear both belt and suspenders :(), and the knife/slip inside the waist band is barely noticeable to me. I may get my other RR slip out and wear it symmetrically located on the other side!:thumbsup::cool::D

So thanks a million for the thoughtful and useful gift, Jack!!:thumbsup: Here are a couple of pics of the slip and my ACL (but no pics of the slip in action on my pants).

You got a nice one, and the slip is a plus, too!

I figured that out just a bit ago and will get membership sorted in a week or so.

There are some fantastic knives in this thread.

Great stuff, it does have some benefits :)

If you haven't come across it yet, there's an index for this thread, (maintained by our fellow Guardian @WhittlinAway, and linked to in the first post), to help you find important information. Looking forward to seeing your Lambsfoot

I remembered about your bubble-wrap slip just as I was packaging up your AC my friend, and couldn't bear the thought of you having to do the same again! ;) I had a search around, and the AC fitted this one (the others I had were too narrow), and I know you like RR's. I forget which model it came with, but I think I mainly bought it for the innovative slip - and then never used it  I figured that, for those who wear jeans, it was designed to slip inside the front pocket, at the outside of the leg, with the clip holding it in place, so the knife is held above other pocket contents, and the knife can just be pulled out, with the slip left in place. Glad you're having fun with it anyway, cool pics :)

Rushing around a bit this morning! Hope everyone has a good week :) My carry today

The blade etch says “Real Lamb Foot”! It should have said “Real Nice Lamb Foot”! ;) Hope all you Guardians have a great Monday! :D

I wonder if my stag handles will look that dark in 100 years, or do you think they started out with darker bark back then?

That's a good looking stag Lamsfoot model which should gain a nice warm golden brown color (but not dark) by around 50 to 75 years, and stay about the same from then on.
Yes, there were and are different colors (lighter and darker) and textures of stag which tend to look about the same for centuries.
