Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

That lighthouse was designed by my son, and he oversaw the construction. Largest stone lighthouse in the country, I believe.
That's so cool Vince. What a tiny world we live in. I have always loved lighthouse architecture and that is such a beautiful stone edifice.
Thank you! Do you ever get out to the OKC show?
No Joshua I haven't ever made it out there but Cherri and I may make the trip one of these days.
That is a chapel that is under construction. My son wants to make it a Catholic chapel, but his boss is Protestant, so we'll see! That lighthouse is on Corpus Christi Beach
Gonna see what I can find on the net about it.
Here are a few more pictures. This boat storage was really impressive. I’ve never see a forklift that size. Lots of “Miami Vice” vibes in there.
Holy Cow Pete! Are those privately owned rigs? That is amazing and something you'd never see here.
Standing in the middle of the national pine barren preserve....silence abounds.
Looks like a heavenly haven Bob. The Waboom looks at home in the wild.
Is construction complete or still ongoing?
I wouldn’t be adverse to ordering it if it was on the menu but if a double cheeseburger is on the same menu oh well.
My sentiments as well. We would make toolman proud. 😁
I offered to buy Bod lunch, but he said he never eats during the day,
The first time Bod told Toolman that... Toolman said ... "hold my beer and watch this..."
Lots of character in the stag on your HHB there, Dwight. Lookin’ good!
Thanks Barrett.

Spalty is a beauty Steve, nice pic
Sounds like Bod made the best of his short
visit! 🤣 Good job looking out for him and making sure the pub was prepared. 😉 Hope the Saltaire was good on draft. I don’t think I’ve had Newcastle since I was in college!
The Saltaire was definitely better on draught, we fell lucky, as that pub can sometimes be a bit lacklustre with its ales. They had a few good ones last night, but I stayed with the South Island :) I've just had a bottle of Newcastle Brown, but it's not as good as it used to be, not made in Newcastle anymore for a start, and they reduced the alcohol content down to 4.7 :( When they first moved production, Bod swore he would never touch it again! Lasted about 3 months as I recall  :D
That’s like us coming back from Arkansas loaded up with stuff we can’t get up here. 🙂
:D
Maybe that was it. 🤣
;) :D
I noticed a lot of the takeaway places there that specialize in an international cuisine also serve pizza. My brother had a favorite kebab/pizza place in Bath that we ordered from a few times when we were there. I never had their pizza, but the doner kebab was tasty (especially with the spicy sauce).
Yeah, some of those places, they just get the pizzas, kebabs, curries, or whatever from the takeaway next door! 🤣

Afternoon Guardians! Sounds like everyone is having a good day. 19 at the ready.

Well Guardians, I'll be away to the market early in the morning, so I hope you have a lovely day, and I'll catch up when I get back, hopefully :)

This will be kind of a long post, but hopefully thought provoking. I have four lambsfoot knives and was considering what the strengths and weaknesses of each one was. I decided to take some measurements and see if I could determine why I liked certain characteristics of each. Here are the measurements followed by some comments.

Gidge

Beni is a large lambsfoot, nearly 4" closed and a blade of over 3" from the bolster. My perfect lamb would be a little smaller, and with more taper.
Gator has a long, slender lambsfoot of about the right length, but I would prefer more width and less taper.
My boy RALF was my gateway into the lambsfoot world and a superb example, but ideally would have been slightly longer with more taper.
Gidge, my Albers lamb, is simply gorgeous, but in a perfect world (for me) would be a little longer and with slightly less taper.

Especially those of you with custom lambs, if you feel so inclined, submit the same measurements of your knives as I have posted above, along with commentary on what your likes and dislikes are. This whole excersize is strictly about the blades, not the frames or handles.

This whole excersize is strictly about the blades,
One of the best Lambsfoot examples for me was/is the GEC Charlie Campagna Lambsfoot released in 2019. Taking the taper and everything else about the blade geometrics out of the equation, it has what is the most important aspects about a blade as far as i'm concerned. It's sharp, fantastic slicer and keeps it's edge. Only had to take mine back to the stone once in 4 years now. Just a strop keeps it in working condition. If i used it everyday would be different i admit that, but still holds a edge, and is just a reliable knife to carry. Sharpness and edge retention are the most important things for me.

Very interesting, Jeff. By the sound of your pros and cons the 93 waynorth and K'roo would fit your Ideal taper requirements. A "Big Un" lamb or large A wright could fit the bill as well.
