I love this thread on the Pics resurrected of Sheffield Factories and Workshops!.Some more photos of Sheffield cutlery factories, for anyone who hasn't seen them
Sheffield's Old Factories & Workshops (Pics Resurrected)
I posted this thread some years ago. Like many of the old threads here, it has effectively been destroyed, the text mangled, the photos obliterated*. I thought I'd re-post the photos, I hope they're of interest. If you have an old Sheffield knife, you may come across the place where it was made...www.bladeforums.com
You are officially one day younger than you would have been.Well fellow Guardians it is official, i have lost it, so i am going to apologise in advance for any completely stupid or inappropriate posts that i may make in the future. Mea Culpa, Mea Culpa, Mea Culpa. Just returned from the gym, was no one there, and the traffic seemed very light, thought that they may have changed the opening hours of the gym and was going to check their website to find out, but everything seemed strange. It is 7.25AM Sunday Morning here, no wonder it was quite, i got up thinking it was Monday Morning, so somehow while i was asleep, i lost a day. Officially lost it.![]()

The water is getting pretty low but Cassie had a blast hunting squirrels in the woods and swimming in the river

Yes, been noted here before JerFunny knife illustrated on that American book.
You are very kind to me DuncanI love this thread on the Pics resurrected of Sheffield Factories and Workshops!.
Jack - I wonder at times, if you know just how much value you have stored and helped the rest of the World understand and get to know Sheffield that little bit, yes there are other historians- but I certainly think that you have contributed marvelously - even through the resurrection of one knife pattern the now very well known Lambsfoot because of you, through this alone there was a peephole into the makings and history in Sheffield of this Knife and the Cutlers.
Your a champion my friend - thank you.
Glad you're still enjoying your Hartshead Barlow Vince
Congratulations!
You are a master photographer Dwight
I believe you do justice to all of your knives when pictured.LOL!A lad I went to school with once slept for 36 hours, and actually DID lose a day!

Great pic DavidI've heard the management at Wright's, many times, defend routine cosmetic defects and fit and finish issues, by saying they make working knives. Yet many of those sold aren't actually capable of working! Easiest thing to fix, but not all their customers will know how to sharpen a knife, let alone re-profile one

Good morning Guardians, how's everyone doing? I hope you're all having a pleasant weekendI enjoyed my trip out last night, and I won't be doing much today, apart from a bit of housework and tidying up, and no doubt, some lazing and lollygagging
I'm going down to my friend Matt's (the other Matt!) tonight. His missus has gone to Dublin for a long weekend with her pals, so Matt has had the kids, and is probably yearning for some adult company!
We're going to watch a movie, order a curry, and drink some beers
Inspired by Dwight's photo, I'm carrying my SamDamLamb today
Unfortunately, I don't have Dwight's photography skills!
Have a great Sunday Guardians

In a galaxy, far, far away...
Our dear departed brothersYou are too kind Jack. We've only had one master photographer here and sadly he has gone off with Ron (Half/Stop) and Enaud (stiflyer) to explore other worlds. Don't you wonder what they are doing now.
