Awesome post Jack- thank you.Hope everyone is having a good dayAfter leaving Charlie's this morning, I headed into town, and did a bit of shopping before going to get a haircut. Took a few pics as I wondered round the city centre.

After getting my haircut, I walked down to the market, to buy some bread, and a few other provisions...

I stopped for a drink and one of my favourite sausage rolls, before heading back home...

Back home, I put my shopping away, put the bins out, and took my old desk chair down the road for a neighbour. Then Wolfie came over, with his youngest lad, and his best mate, and we went to the park. We sat on a bench, and drank coffee, while the kids played, and then Wolfie dropped me off at home. First sunny day we've had in a month, so it's been nice to get out in it

The forecast for tomorrow, market day, is reasonable too, but I've just spoken to Tool Man and he's feeling under the weather, so doesn't think he can make itHave to say if it was anyone else, yours truly for example, 'knocking' with anything short of bubonic plague, he'd be slagging them to the heavens
Must be getting soft in his old age
I don't know when he was going to let me know if I hadn't rung him, selfish %£&@, but I can find something else to do

Well, tried something I've never had before: a "fluffernutter".

(Always finding good recipes here!) My usual peanut butter has been Laura Scudder's, which is all natural: just peanuts and a little salt. The oil separates, and you have to stir the contents of the jar. Went with the more popular JIF and bought some Jet-Puffed marshallow creme. (The lambsfoot is merely posing, as it deferred to a butter knife for the spreading honours.) I may have been a bit heavy on the marshmallow creme, as it "overflowed" overnight in the ziplock bag I put it in.

Now the lamb did the cutting here.

Reyt chuffin' tasty. Probably won't replace my usual accompaniment to peanut butter: Bonne Maman fruit spread (mostly strawberry or blueberry). But I'll try it again!![]()

LOL! Yeah, I bet my kids would have been in there that long too! Thanks, Jack. The girls had a great time. I think we were in there for an hour and half!![]()
Brilliant!Yeah, too much fudge and salt water taffy.Eleanor was obviously thinking along the same lines as you; when we first saw that, she said, “Is that fat Iron Man?”

Sounds like we might need to organise a letter-writing campaign or something Barrett! Fentiman's is OK, but I actually prefer the cheap stuff!I asked a guy who was stocking the shelves, and he helped me look in a few places he thought it might be (though I had already scanned all the shelves thoroughly). He even radioed to someone in the back to ask about it, and found out that they used to carry it, but they don’t have it now.
I also called a shop in a north Minneapolis suburb that only sells different sodas and looks to have a huge variety, to see if they carried it. The guy there said they had it in their inventory system, but it was out of stock.
I didn’t think to ask either place what brand they used to carry, but my guess would be Fentimans (the only one I’ve ever seen here). I also think I might know why no one has it anymore. Fentimans is, of course, a British company, and while they still have D&B on their UK website, it isn’t in the list of products on their US website. My guess is they just stopped distributing their D&B in the US.
I bet it isn't buddy! That’s great, Jack. This was not the first time I’ve travelled what might be considered an unreasonable distance to eat at a place I liked.![]()
Great photo BarrettNice! I’m not an expert on fluffernutters (only ever had one or two, out of curiosity after hearing about them, like yourself), but I feel like non-fancy peanut butter was the way to go.I also approached mine with the same thought process as I do PB&J, and went with extra crunchy peanut butter for texture.
