Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Coyotes in the USA and Europe are different. Generally, only coyotes in the later stages of Rabies will attack a human in the USA. The same is true of Bobcats and Mountain Lions too, though drought is putting some pressure on them to seek alternate prey.

Coyotes in Europe apparently developed a taste for humans due to body disposal practices after death and the dead left on battlefields. Don't know if that is the true cause for the behavior difference or not but, that's what I learned in one of my college classes.
Coyotes are opportunistic. If they can make it in New York, they can make it anywhere. (this one even uses the quadrupedestrian crossing)

It's a shame about the goths. I associate them with the 80s and I'm surprised they're not extinct. Too bad thinking it doesn't make it happen. 😁
Meh. Could be worse. Goths are mostly harmless.

I remember being given a thumb-stick, with stag, by a cutler I used to know, but I'm not sure what happened to it. For a simple stick, even the wooden ones are surprisingly expensive to buy

They live forever Jer! 🤣 I have to say, I never guessed that they'd last so long. I can remember seeing my first Goth in a Sheffield pub, and asking my mate Russ about it...
Jack: What's up with that lass, she looks like she's dead?!
Russ: She's a Goth.
Jack: What's that?
Russ: They sing songs about plague, and dying, and that.
Jack: Hmm...Can't see that lasting long.
Who'd a thunk it! :D

Cool pic Jer

Looks like a good trip Pete :) That High Water Line is impressive/scary! Safe travels back home my friend :)
Thank you Jack and yes we heard some of what occurred here during the conference. Sobering what Mother Nature can do

A bit like our foxes, but on steroids! :D

How many years ago was it that a couple in London got death threats for giving foxes a bad name for eating their baby's face? (Foxes wouldn't do that unless the baby provoked them in some way.)
You guys didn't have screened doors and windows, and it was hot.

So are silverfish and earwigs.

Nothing more powerful Pete! 🫣

Was that actually true Jer?! 😵‍💫

Another cool pic Dwight, I was admiring the wee telephone box in your photo yesterday  :)

My maternal grandmother was very good at making things, and spent many months, making this model village for my 3rd birthday

Very cool Jack. What happened to the model village. Do you still have it?

Blimey Sid, I hope things get better for you! 😱👍

I thought that was a really informative guide Jer 😎 I don't know if I should try making a Market Stick, or stick with the one I have! 🤣👍

Thanks Sid, that sounds like a lot of fun :) Hope you'll get some pics for us

Thanks Steve, I'm afraid I don't know :(

It definitely can be Jer, though I preferred it when it was a relatively quiet fishing port, before the Goths descended en masse 🧛‍♂️🧛‍♀️They take up a lot of space these days! 🤣

Brings money into the town (2 Goth festivals a year), but has definitely changed it's character

When he first started acting oddly, my first thought, (ignoring the obvious), was that he might be worried about his health in some way, or that of a family member. I did put this to him, when we eventually met up in the pub, and offered it as a 'Get out of jail free card', which might save him getting a thump, but he insisted not. I actually think he was stressed, but simply worried about losing money at the steam event  See tonight's instalment: High Noon in The Pier Inn ;)

Definitely not! :) Perfect Black Friday knife! ;)

The fact I have waited in all day, with my windows open, so it's obvious, didn't stop another courier sneaking up to the house, and leaving another package on my door-step. Fortunately my neighbour spotted it  Still waiting in for Charlie's package
Delivery drivers around here are in such a hurry that they don't knock. They just drop the package off and go. More than once I've been home and gone outside only to discover a box sitting by the door.

I try to attend a local steam engine/tractor show every year. You've reminded me of 2016 when it was a muddy mess. They had to cancel a lot of events, like the parade. It would have been a lot worse for us, but my late friend Dave bought his Kawasaki Mule. He only had one leg so he brought it even in good weather. A few pics from then:

Dave. One of the quickest witted people I've ever known. He always looked like he was up to something ;)

Very cool Jack. What happened to the model village. Do you still have it?
Thanks Dwight 😊 Sadly not. Apart from the railway, most of the houses, people, and all the little trees, shrubs, and plants, most of it was cunningly constructed from papier mache and old Player's No6 fag packets. They didn't survive the predations of young lad, a mother who needed the space, or a clumsy, big-footed dad! The model lasted long enough for the railway to be upgraded to battery operation, but I think I was required to downsize the village itself, and a number of the buildings ended up featuring in the war games me and my siblings, and my pals, played with my model soldiers. When I was older, and had left home, my brother added to my railway, and continued to use the models, before selling them when he wanted a new bicycle, tight-fisted sod. I already had kids myself by then, but they didn't get to play with it sadly. Never mind 🙂👍

Wonderful photo Dwight, you have really captured that gorgeous burl 😎😊👍
Whew...my fingers tired scrolling. Wildlife, beer, food, knives and part of an English village...well done.

You'll see it all here Bob! 😁 Great shot of your OMJ buddy 😊👍

Much the same here Mike, they have even left some very expensive items sitting on my front step 😱

Fantastic photos buddy, your pal Jimmie sounds like a great character, kinda like the Anti Tool Man! 🤣 👍

Could be Barrett, supposed to be a pretty good event, Meako has even been to it!

That must’ve been what it was. I looked up the location and it’s right along the route from Salisbury to Durdle Door, and the dates add up. We actually drove by there the day before it opened that year, so everything we saw (and the traffic we got stuck in) must have been from them setting up.

I guess we totally missed Monkey World. 🫤🤣

I may be forced to go to the Chip Shop again. Looks good Jack. All is good unless they start shorting your draft.
LOL! :D The pub is bang opposite the post office Bob, so it seemed like a reasonable detour! :D ;) I checked the menu, and they have sneakily reduced the size of the burgers from 4oz to 3oz. I'd have got a second burger, but I usually find one enough

Everybody I know who has been, has been very impressed by the event. I've only been down that way a few times myself
