Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Morning all

Sorry to hear Bob.
But welcome to the club I've been a cyborg for 40 years. I had my ankle fussed when I was a kid full of screws. It was an experimental procedure so had a cast for 12 months, actually multiple casts had it cut off monthly x rayed & another put on.
Had my wrist first fussed in 94, ti plate goes from halfway in my hand to halfway up my forearm. It's the second 1 I broke the stainless plate.
Both involved bone grafts.

Not yet it's only 7.45am. The wife has to take the daughter to 8.15am doctor appointment, so I haven't got near the bathroom yet😉
Sorry to hear about your experiences Mitch.
Mine comes from old age. No regrets, life has been fun, no need for a bucket list.😁

Hope everyone is having a good day. I managed to get all my errands done in town, and picked up a bit of shopping :) I also called in at the hot sauce shop to re-stock on Mr Vikki's Hot Coriander Sauce. I asked about the rest of the range, and the proprietor gave me a taste of the Tamarind Chipotle Chutney, which he recommended as a cheese accompaniment. He had just had a Secret Aardvark delivery, and I thought I'd try their Drunken Garlic Black Bean Sauce. Apparently, I may be the first person in Europe to try it! :D

I couldn't resist trying some of this Drunken Garlic Black Bean Sauce on my chicken & mushroom pie. It's certainly got plenty of garlic, and tastes OK, but it isn't spicy. I can see myself using it on Chinese dishes, as an alternative to Soy Sauce, but it's about 10 times more expensive!

Nice hot sauce haul, Jack. Shame about the Aardvark, especially since the original has some decent heat. 🫤

Good morning, Guardians. Afternoon or evening to the folks abroad. A hectic day of work for me today. About 8000 soldiers training in every corner of this place. Day should go fast. Got the giraffe bone lamb in the pocket. Hope everyone has a great day.

That’s a beauty, Paul.

Someone left this old manual typewriter out on my street today...

Hey, could be a new hobby for you — fixing up old typewriters! Can’t be that complicated, can they? 😉

When I bought this Royal last year (early Christmas present to myself), I got it from a local guy who refurbishes them. I certainly could have found one for less, but the guy does a meticulous job and really seems to know his stuff, and it seemed like money well spent.

Today I took the girls downtown to the Minneapolis Central Library. This was our first time at this library, which is the largest of the 41 libraries in the Hennepin County Library system.

Eleanor was obsessed with this staircase for some reason. We took it from the 1st floor the 4th, then back down to the 3rd, before she insisted we take it back up to the 4th again so we could take the elevator down. 🙄🤣

There were a lot of sections and rooms I would have liked to explore, but as it was just the girls and I, and their library voices have a limited capacity, we spent most of our time in the kids section.

I had my Albers with me, as seems to be the case more often than not lately.

Beautiful Waboom Jack! Is that a slab of petrified wood?
Thanks buddy, the background is a roofing slate, someone dumped some on the small lane that runs down the back of my house. I forget what the 'slice' is, I bought it from a shop in Whitby, which sells rocks, minerals, and fossils

Must have been hard as a kid Mitch :( Stan Shaw spent almost his entire childhood in hospital :(
Thanks, Dwight. All credit to Glenn. He picked out a really nice slab.
He sure did :)

I have another of those TEW Lambs to send off, but forgot to buy Jiffy bags yesterday! 😖

Yeah, it was a complete surprise mate. I think the guy in the chilli shop will be surprised too

LOL! :D I don't have anymore room on my kitchen table! :D

What an incredible library! 🥰 Civilized countries should have libraries like that  I spent a lot of time in libraries, for much of my life, but funding has been cut to the bone for decades here. If you can find one, they are small, pokey adjuncts to council buildings, and have very limited stock. Sheffield City Council began closing branch libraries in the 1980's, and now they are selling off the central lending library :(

Great photo of a gorgeous knife my friend :)

Good morning Guardians, halfway through another week, and I hope it's going well for everyone. Another dull day here, but I need to do some work anyway  Carrying my Hartshead Barlow, and recycling a pic. Have a good day Guardians

Yes & No. I speak normally so easier for me.
Growing up in the 70s & 80s was harder than it is now, kids have much better options & support today.👍👍
I spent a lot of time in hospital & go to physio before school & I did miss so much school i did repeat a year.
But saying that I wasn't sheltered I went to regular scchools, Worse I went to cathlolic high schools St Pauls & st Francis Xaviers😮
I was still required to do every thing, sport school swimming lessons..
I grew in the generation when it was still fun to be a kid, go out & be home before the street lights were on. My stepdad came on the scene when i was young & encouraged me to do things & very supportive, cause I couldn't use a bow made me a crossbow😎 gave me my first pocket knife, taught me if you had nothing else you can sharpen a kitchen knife on the back cement step. He came home once with a suprise, he ran a foundry floor & gave me a replica of colt 1911, couldn't do that these days I don't think I ever told him I lost his tomahawk in the bush😆. I got treated the same as my brothers, still had chores, just took longer😊 being laid up I did learn appreciation of reading to this day. When I was about 15 I discovered the gym & still like to exercise to this day, qualifed as an instructor at 21most people these days people think I must have had a stroke.
To be honest I probably found it harder being a young adult finding my way & people telling what I can & can't do.
So guardians no feeling sad for me I am having a good life. If any of you feel sorry for me I'm going to visit you with a rusty file & dull your egdes😳😳😂😂

Good for you Mitch, cool pic :)
Thanks Jack

Good morning everyone. Woke up at 0430 today and it was 83 degrees outside already 😱. It is going to be a hot tamale today. Heat index is predicted at 115. Other than that, I will have a normal day of work and trying to avoid at all cost.......the outdoors 😆 🤣 😂. Got one of my prized possessions in the pocket.....HHB!!!!!!

Your boring day is like a vacation in a day to me. I have no doubts you will get into something interesting. Have a great day with that awesome knife in the pocket.

LOL! Yeah, I bet you'd enjoy some dull weather right now Paul! 😵‍💫 I have only just got out of the house, been on the PC all morning. It's 12.45, and I'm just getting coffee on my way to town 👍
