Sweet Lamb!Good morning Guardians, it seems like Monday here, after our 3-day weekendI had a great time at the Carnival, with lots of beer and rum!
We went up to the park first, to see some of the groups of dancers set off, and then watched a really excellent percussion group who had set up on one of the many blocked-off streets. I couldn't believe their energy!
We walked down the busy main road, which was lined with colourful food stalls, and after getting some chairs from my mate Matt's house, we set up in a prime spot to watch the parade
Unfortunately, for the first time in 50-odd years, some dingbat from the council, despite the fact the road had been closed off anyway, had decided that the parade would only use one half of the road! This rather spoiled things, since the dancers were channelled into a fairly narrow chicane, and it certainly spoiled our view
I owe you a bunch of pics, but need to edit them first!
Carrying my other Hartshead Barlow today, which I always think I should carry more. It fits very nicely in one of the slips Jeremy very kindly made for me![]()
Have a good day Guardians

Extra Lucky, you may regret that comment when you are in the queue at the soup kitchen. You are now in addiction territory. Very costly. My GAW knife arrived today. I was lucky as the stag is 1 of the 1s I would have chosen. I was extra lucky
Congratulations MitchBob,Rufus1949

That's good to hear mate, you tooThanks Jack,
Storm ended up being a fizzler.

I'm amazed you are not reporting on violence taking place at the post office.I doubt we'll have a post office here in 10 years, the current owners seem hell-bent on running it into the groundThey closed the branch at the bottom of my street 20 years ago, so usually I go to the one in town, but I'm expecting a delivery this afternoon, so as I had a parcel for Barrett
btb01 , I went to the nearest post office, which is about a mile away.
I thought I'd have a coffee first, in the Hipster place next door, which was unusually empty (thankfully). I ordered a small cake, which turned up with something plastic sticking out of it. I asked the snooty manager what it was, and she said it contained some "sauce" you could squeeze inWhen I removed the plastic syringe, it was all but empty, and the "sauce" turned out to be jam. I should have chewed on the plastic, it couldn't have tasted much worse than the stale cardboard-like cake, which tasted like a week-old doughnut. The raspberry tasted alright at least! Cost me £8 with coffee!.

I presented my parcel at the post office, having already filled out the increasingly complicated customs form, but was told that the post office only accept parcels of under 2kg (4.4lb)!It turned out that their terrible courier service, known here as 'Parcelfarce', would take larger parcels for some crazy money. I was reluctant to use them, but wanted to get the parcel underway, so I said I'd send it. I was then handed a far more complex form to fill out. Unfortunately, I didn't get very far as I didn't have Barrett's phone number! Probably for the best really, but I'm going to have to remove a third of the contents, and find some new packaging, as I used half a roll of duct tape sealing this one!
Sorry Barrett, I'll get it off asap
