Thanks David, there was a bit of a strange atmosphere at the service, but I really don't know what the cause of that was. I guess funerals are a funny time, and everyone carries their grief differently. It will be very different at the market tomorrow, and I'm sure you are right about Tool Man!Glad the funeral went better than expected with no drama. Thats good news. Tool Man will twist your ear off with his tales of his Blackpool adventure!

I hope everyone has had a good dayNobody likes to go to a funeral, but Frank's was about as good a funeral as I've been to
I spoke to Tool Man, who said he had a wonderful time in Blackpool, and I'll be seeing him in the morning
Enjoy the rest of the day Guardians

Here's a lambsfoot being borne.
I gave here a medium+ strenght spring and the brown paper micarta scales are just temporary.
I'm enjoying this build

Yes, back on even keel and everything back to normal. It will be very different at the market tomorrow
I like the 12 year old Viking Honour quite well. Never had the pleasure of the 18 year old. Good kidIn Round Rock, Texas (Chisholm Trail went through here) on business. Miss my dogs--and cat. But having some great meals: BBQ, Italian, and tonight ate at a Peruvian restaurant. Had pork adobo.

Delicious! The shot glass had pisco, the national drink of Peru. Modelo Especial in the other glass. And after dinner my son gave me a bottle of Highland Park.

Looking forward to market day, Jack.

Don't think I've ever had Highland Park before, Mike, but have seen Jack post pics many times. If my memory serves me right....I like the 12 year old Viking Honour quite well. Never had the pleasure of the 18 year old. Good kid![]()
Post your impression when you've had a chance to sample it. To me, it doesn't have as much peat/smoke as Laphroig or Ardbeg, but it is a nice, rich tasting scotch with some complexity.Don't think I've ever had Highland Park before, Mike, but have seen Jack post pics many times. Definitely not as peaty or smoky as Laphroaig and Ardbeg, but I found it pleasant. Just finished a small serving. Will take a few more tastings to properly evaluate. Didn't like Laphroaig 10 the first time I tried it nearly 30 years ago, but before I got halfway through the first bottle, it became and stayed my favourite malt. Until I tried the Ardbeg Corryvreckan last year.Post your impression when you've had a chance to sample it. I'd forgotten about that!If he's not otherwise engaged in damage control containing the spread ofJack Black 's (mostly believable) tales!

Yes, I've been drinking it for years, and it's a nice alternative to the peaty Islays I love. As you've probably discovered, it goes down very easily!Don't think I've ever had Highland Park before, Mike, but have seen Jack post pics many times. If my memory serves me right....
Yes, quite different to the Islay malts. If I remember correctly, in my old Michael Jackson Whisky Companion, he rated it very highlyPost your impression when you've had a chance to sample it.
